HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
My plan to start going to bed earlier has just not been working out. Today started out as any other day. They made a big mess at lunch today, and so I put water into the bathtub and put them in it, which they did not appreciate. Then they went to bed for their nap, and fell asleep pretty fast. Emmy woke up too early. He didn't go back to sleep, so I picked him up, but he did not want to sleep on me, and so Randy went downstairs with him. I had work to do, but was so tired, I lay down and fell asleep. I woke up when Tammy and Sammy woke up, and got up to get them out of bed. I called up the boys, and we sat down to eat the afternoon meal.
By the time we were done, it was already 3 pm, and I had one hour left to get everything ready for us to leave. I chose their clothes first, and Randy started dressing them, which takes time anyway. Then I started making their food to take with us, as dinner was gonna be at church. In the meantime, they were running around and having fun, but also wreaking havoc. Sammy had crossed the whole length of the apartment. Tammy and Emmy worked on getting to the blinds that Randy has to barricade all the time to keep them from getting there, but they always find a way. Then the empty drawers and shelves. I forgot to tell you about yesterday. Tammy emptied the drawer that had packs of tissues inside, putting them all on the floor. When she came back upstairs later to eat, she went straight to the drawer, put all the tissues back inside, and closed it. Wow! Nobody had told her to do that! Today, Randy ended up taking them downstairs to keep them from continuing on, even though there wasn't much time left.
I just about got done with everything, they came back up, and we dressed them and put them into the strollers, and we left on time and made our train easy. After the train, we took the tram, then walked, and arrived at church a few minutes before the service started. At first they always just stand there looking, or wanting to be held, but it passes fast. Today, though, there weren't really people around us interacting with them, like is usually the case, so they stayed pretty much with us the whole time. Emmy climbed on top of Sammy's stroller, and then Tammy did too. I also held them, and danced with them.
At about 5:30 we went to the staircase - Tammy, Emmy and I - up and to the children's room. They have a program there, and even though we've been up there, they have never been a part of it. There was no proram today. Still, we sat down so they could eat their food, which is what the other kids there were doing. While they were eating, they were watching the other kids around them and were very concentrated doing so.
After they were done, they went to the slide in the middle of the room. It has a staircase to go up, and it was even easy for them to go down that staircase. A little girl older than them was jumping off it, and I could see that Emmy wanted to copy her. I don't know if he knew that he couldn't do that yet, or listened to me when I told him not to.
They went down the slide quite a few times, also on their bellies, face first. And they walked up the slide as well. They had good shoes on for that. The little girl I mentioned was a little shy, staying away from them, though Emmy and Tammy watched her closely and clearly wanted to interact with her. We stayed there for quite a while, and then left to go back to the sanctuary.
Going down the staircase, we saw that our friend Anna was there, and she came over to say hello. Emmy was shy, though, and clinged to my leg. Tammy had no problem being with her. We sat down, and they both wanted to sit on my lap. It was getting late, and they were getting tired. Tammy then started pulling down my mask, and also pulling it up over my eyes, over and over again. It was fun.
It wasn't long before the service ended, and we slowly made our way to the exit, where we put their coats on, and then we left. It was already later than usual. We had to wait for the tram a bit, and then the train, and it was a regular train with a high staircase to carry the strollers inside. Just before we got off the train, Emmy fell asleep.
It was 8:15 by the time we were back home. We let Emmy sleep, and each got one of the others to undress them, change their diapers, and put their pj's on and put them to bed. Emmy did not like being woken up, and so I dimmed the light while getting him ready. Today they all fell asleep fast, but I had to sit down by there beds, which I hadn't had to do in a while.
And then I took care of the dishes and made my food. Unfortunately it takes a long time to make my salad, so it was pretty late before I was done eating. And of course that time is missing now, meaning I'm going to bed late as always, even without any office work.
