HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 733. Last night was very tough, as I already told you in yesterday's report. Tammy wanted Daddy, who had worked until 11 pm to finish putting the toy kitchen together that they had received for their birthday. He had to interrupt working once to sit down with her, hold her, put her to bed, and walk away, but then she wanted Daddy again, just as he finished working. He hadn't even eaten yet, and sat down with her again. After putting her to bed, he was too tired to eat any more and got ready for bed, when she was up again. There was nothing I could do as she wanted Daddy, not Mommy. Daddy was tired and getting annoyed, which made her cry. After he was in bed, she tried it one more time, but Daddy needed sleep and was not having it any more. So a rejected girl finally cried for Mommy who sat down in the chair rocking her to sleep. After a while I put her to bed, but she would not let me leave. She finally fell asleep for good some time after 1 am, and I was able to go to bed.
At 4 am Emmy came to me, climbed into bed, and fell asleep. At 6 am - his regular time - he was up for good and left go go wake up his sister. It wasn't long before he was crying for food and throwing a fit, so I got up, gave them milk, and salami, which is what they wanted. Emmy had some banana as well. Randy changed their diapers against their will, and at the table they would not even touch their cereal. Instead they had some natural fruit drinks.
I cleaned them up, brushed their teeth against their will, dressed them, and went downstairs. I couldn't wait to see their reaction to their new kitchen. They immediately went to check it out, Emmy first. It was so much fun to watch them that I didn't even open the blinds for a while.
When Randy came with his breakfast, I went upstairs to clean up and go do office work. In reality I was so tired I wanted to take a nap, but I had too much to do so I pushed on. We were gonna eat at 11:30 today. I'd had some printer issues I needed to resolve, so I went downstairs to my office and printer. I was surprised to find Emmy fast asleep. He slept from 9:30 to 10:30 or so, which is very unusual. The reason I don't work there is that I can't get anything done, when they can see me. Tammy was coming as close as she could, and then wanted Mommy. And then Emmy woke up. When I tried to return upstairs to continue working, it was impossible. I ended up taking them upstairs with me at about 10:45 and decided to go straight into the kitchen to cook. I put two chairs there that they could stand on and started making rice with vegetables. Tammy was the one really watching me. I tried to teach her, so she can imitate me in her own kitchen. I was surprised that she didn't want to eat any chicken, while Emmy couldn't get enough of it.
At about 11:20 we sat down at the table to eat. Neither one wanted any chicken at that point, and only one of them ate a good portion of rice. Tammy still throws food and her spoon around. I gave them all icecream anyway. Then I cleaned them up, dressed them, and put the boys to bed, while Randy went downstairs with Tammy.
Emmy seemed somewhat tired, but he was just talking with me instead of sleeping. After a while it became clear that the hour he had slept earlier meant that he was not going to sleep now. So Randy came upstairs with Tammy, and I put her to bed, but she immediately started crying for Daddy. Randy sat down in the chair with her, and she fell asleep on him. He then put her to bed, and tried to hold Emmy to rock him to sleep, but it wasn't working, so he went downstairs with him. When Sammy woke up, I took him downstairs as well. And just before 2:30, Tammy also woke up and wanted to join them, so I took her downstairs. I could finally get some more work done.
At 3 pm Randy came upstairs with them for the afternoon meal. It was too cold to go outside. They were eating, running around and playing. Then I took them downstairs and stayed with them until Randy and Sammy joined us. I was still hoping to get some office work done, and did make good progress after going upstairs.
I was not done, but it was getting late, and I could hear the kids cry and Randy needing a break, so I went downstairs just before 5 pm. We then had a fun time. Emmy has a Tigger doll that talks and jumps, which is really funny, and he would put him into the fridge of their new kitchen, touch the button, and close the door, so he was jumping inside the fridge, which was hilarious to him.
A set of toy plates and silverware had arrived that I gave to them, and we played some pretend eating. Then Tammy wanted to look at a picture book, and then Emmy wanted to play with the little animals, so I got them out as well. We have a little, blue pouch of water that I put down, and I set the little fence up. I was impressed how the girl then picked up one animal after another and sorted them - water or land - and put them in the correct spot. Very impessive. She's very organized, like her Mommy.
After the animals, they wanted to do some drawing, so I gave them paper and the crayons, and they did a great job. By the time they were done, it was 5:30 and time for me to go upstairs to make their dinner. Of course they didn't want to let me leave, and so I just let them go upstairs with me. Again, chairs set into the kitchen, and their plates in front of them on the counter, and then I started making bread with cream cheese and putting it onto their plates. But of course they wanted salami; only Emmy ate the bread as well. Once I was done with it all, including all the fruit, we sat down at the table to eat. What they didn't eat we took to the bathtub. They didn't eat all their food today. Emmy was getting really cranky in the bathtub, because he was so tired, having only slept that one hour on the floor in the morning. No wonder. We got them out and ready for bed, and Emmy probably set the record for how fast he fell asleep. It was a different story for Tammy. I tried to leave a few times, but she wouldn't let me. At least she wasn't crying for Daddy again. I had to stay until she was asleep, which did not take as long as usual, thankfully. I left to get myself something to eat, and then went back to work. I took a break from mental work and cleaned the kitchen and dining room, before returning to the computer. Now it's midnight and I cannot keep my eyes open any longer. Too bad as there's always more work to do.
