HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 682. Last night it was 1:40 when I made it to bed, and later before I fell asleep. This morning I first heard them at 6:30 am and kept listening to them. It was after 7 am when Sammy was crying so hard I went in there to see what was going on. Emmy had never used the opening to his bed to get out. Instead he was sitting in his sister's bed - naked. He had obviously also been to his brother's bed, where there was a big stain. So much for giving him an opening to get out. He just wants to hop from bed to bed.
And so we got up just before the alarm would have gone off anyway, just before 7:30. I made their breakfast, we fed them, then cleaned them up and dressed them, and left just a little too late to make the bus we should have taken.
There are many ways to get to the dance place; every minute you ask your phone for instructions, it's a different way. We walked to one of the bus stops, took the bus to the tram, and then took the tram, coming from the opposite direction than last time, getting to the place a few minutes late. We were the last ones to arrive, but they had waited for us to start.
This was their second dance class. There were 3 other kids besides them, not as many as last week. The teacher started with a few songs. Some they had to sit with us, others they were supposed to walk in a circle, but most kids wanted to be carried, including hours, and so the parents walked in a circle with their kids.
After the songs, the teacher got out bubbles, and all the parents started blowing bubbles. I think that was a first for our kids, and they enjoyed them. And then it was play time. They were allowed to get out any toys they wanted, and there were toys everywhere. Our kids all had fun with the different toys, from cars to ride on to the slide to moving mice on a string to pull, and many other things. They didn't interact with the other kids very much. Then the teacher set out some food for them to eat at a kids table. I had just given them a snack, but they still ate quite a bit. Tammy tends to put a lot of food into her mouth at once, so she looked pretty funny.
After they had eaten, they played some more, and then there was a few more songs, and then the class was over. 90 minutes of fun, though it's less guided activities than I had expected.
We put them back into the strollers and checked what the best way to go home was. We picked another new route, using a different bus and then the subway. Again Tammy and Emmy were out of the strollers and sitting on the seat next to me. By the time we got home, it was already 11:20, so quite late. I immediately warmed up some leftovers, and we sat down to feed them. It was obvious that they were pretty tired. So was I. After their meal and dessert, I cleaned them and dressed them. I put a tired Emmy to bed right away, waiting for Sammy to be done to join him and for Randy to take Tammy downstairs. Then I decided to try to all put them to bed at the same time, considering how tired they were. I sat down by them to encourage them to go to sleep. Sammy was asleep quickly. Tammy and Emmy were on their way, when Randy came to me to ask me a question. They raised up, got up, and suddenly were seemingly wide awake. How I found myself wishing he had not come in! I had to hand Tammy to Randy to take her downstairs, and stayed with Emmy, stroking his head to help him fall asleep. And it didn't really take that long. Then Randy and Tammy could return, and I put her to bed.
As for me, I had not eaten yet, but I was so extremely tired, I nearly didn't, but I did grab something and felt better after having eaten. However, I was so tired there was no point even turning my computer on. I fell asleep, and was woken up by Emmy waking up. Both boys were awake, so I handed Sammy to Randy who went downstairs with him, and took Emmy downstairs as well a few minutes later. Then I lay back down. Tammy woke up not too long after, and I sat down on the chair with her. When I heard Emmy crying downstairs, I called the boys up for the afternoon meal. It was only about 2:30 pm.
We once again went out on the balcony. I was still so tired I could barely keep my eyes open, but the only thing I could do was to power on. Tammy's diaper opened up under her shorts and poop dropped out that they stepped in and then carried around on their feet. More work for me. After a while of them running around, eating and playing, I took them downstairs. When Randy came with Sammy, I left to go upstairs.
I was still too tired to work and lay down and fell asleep again. I had already spent plenty of time with them today, but just before 5 pm I went downstairs and gave Randy a break. They always want to go outside, when I come, and I opened the door for them. The neighbors were just packing up their little pool they'd had in the sandbox, and so they were curiously watching them. Especially the water hose the Dad pulled back up onto their balcony. They rode a little with their cars, but weren't really that interested in being outside. It was another hot day.
At 5:30 I went upstairs to make their dinner. They were crying hard, not wanting me to leave. At 6 pm I called them upstairs to eat. Tammy was really tired. After a while of eating, she started crying for no reason. We went into the bathtub, where they all finished their food and had fun. And then Tammy suddenly started crying again for no reason. We got them out and put them to bed, and I stayed with them. They fell asleep rather fast tonight.
Then I got myself something to eat and went to work. Now it's 1 am, but everything is done, so it just might be a little earlier than it was yesterday tonight.
