HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 837. Last night I headed to bed just before 11 pm. Both kids were in bed with us for most of the night. This morning they were up somewhere around 6 am, and by 6:30 we got up. We fed the cats, and then I started making breakfast, while Randy was giving them new diapers. I made an omelet that especially Tammy enjoyed, and they had pineapple and watermelon. Emmy wanted some of the cereal that I had only given to Sammy this morning.
After breakfast I cleaned them up, dressed them, and we went to the living room to open the advent calendars and read the Bible.
Then it was time to go to the back and do office work. Once again Tammy and Emmy came to me instead of staying with Randy and Sammy.
It wasn't long before Amadou came by, and I asked him to come in and play with the kids for a while to keep them busy. He did for a few minutes and then left to bring the chicks over. Then I suggested we'd put the kids' swimming pool up that we had brought with us. It's still 37 degrees (99 F) during the day. Amadou started sweeping the concrete on top of the sceptic tank right in front of our house. It was a good spot to set it up, even though the concrete wasn't smooth, which is why I put a blanket down before putting the pool on top.
The kids had wanted to come outside to watch Amadou, and then wandered off to look for the sheep, and so Amadou went with them. Emmy wanted him to pick him up, as he's still scared of the sheep.
As we don't have a hose right now, Amadou had to fill a bucket with water to fill the pool up. As that took some time, the kids went back inside the house. But it didn't take very long. I got their swim trunks out and put them on them, and off we went. And they loved the pool! Even though it's small and shallow, they enjoyed it and had fun. And Sammy could sit holding on to the edge pretty well. I don't know how long they stayed in the water before we got them out.
Paul returned from his errands, and he had finally bought a small drum that I had asked for for Emmy. It's a little hard to play, as you have to hit it hard to get a good sound out of it, but all three enjoyed it.
At 11:30 I started making lunch, and at noon we sat down to eat. After watermelon, pineapple and yoghurt, I just washed them off in the sink before we gave them fresh diapers and put their clothes back on. I had finally connected with the missionary doctor who had told me what to get for Emmy's wound by the eye and his skin, which she identified as an allergic reaction, and so we put it all on for the first time. Then it was nap time.
It took a while to get them to sleep; I was surprised to see that it was already 1:15, when I looked at the clock. Then I sat down to work, but I got pretty tired. Some time after 2 pm I decided to lie down with the kids, when Emmy was moving, and then I fell asleep with Tammy to my left and Emmy to my right. And that's how they all slept longer than usual, which made bed time at night even harder. It was something like 3:30, when we all woke up and got up. Somehow the cat had gotten into the room and she was right there with us, wanting my attention. I petted her, with Tammy and Emmy watching her like hawks.
Then we all got up and went to the living room. Fanta had already come and was doing the dishes. I got some food out for them that they started eating. And once again I tried to do office work, but it's just so hard with them constantly coming. I let them watch videos, but their attention span is rather short, especially Emmy's.
Amaga (1) was already in the living room, and after a while Esther (3) came as well, but they don't play too well together.
At 5:30 I turned the slow-running water in the bathtub on and went to the kitchen to start get dinner ready. Tammy and Emmy sat down on the floor to watch videos for a few minutes on my phone. At 6 pm we sat down to eat. Tammy likes her omelets, and they all enjoyed the Danish salami Paul had bought. And thankfully they like watermelon and pineapple. And they ate the last of the fruit yoghurt.
I took Tammy to the bathtub first and put her in. She wasn't happy, but I didn't think much about it. Then I got Emmy and put him in, and he was also unhappy, and he finally said "heiß". I put my hand into the water and was shocked at how hot it was and got them out immediately. I have the knob turned to the same direction every night and don't know why it was so hot tonight. I turned the cold water on, but of course it's not very cold, as it's so hot outside, and so it took a while before we were able to get in. But then we had fun, as always.
We got them out and ready for bed, and then Randy read a Bible story again, before I prayed over them. It was already just after 7 pm and bedtime. But thanks to the long nap in the afternoon it took a long time and a lot of nerves to get them to sleep. It was 8:30 before Emmy finally fell asleep.
And so I got to eat later than usual, and everything has been later since. I tried to put Emmy into his bed, but it didn't work. Tammy was in her bed for a while before waking up and returning to our bed. Randy went to bed with Emmy being there. While I was writing my report, Tammy woke up, realized where she was and cried to return to our bed. However, she wanted me to lie down with her, and I wasn't ready yet. I tried to hand her to Randy, but she wanted Mommy. And so she sat on my lap, while I was typing on the computer. Until the cat succeeded in opening our door and came inside. She let me put her into our bed, so that I could put the cat back outside. From time to time she's calling my name to come to bed, and so that's what I'm gonna do now. It's after midnight after all.
