Day 863. Last night I headed to bed at 11:15 pm. We had moved both children to their bed, but Tammy got up a few minutes later to join us in bed. Emmy followed suit a few hours later. Tammy got up first, around 6:30, and then Emmy was up as well, while I was so tired I fell back asleep, which happens rarely. I woke up again at 7 am, and then the doorbell was already going, so I went to the door immediately. It was Paul picking up all the paperwork for the Austrian team's visas. Getting up so quickly, I only found out later that the kids had gotten a hold of their diaper creams and squeezed them all over the place. Hopefully we have enough until we get back to Austria, since they still have diarrhea and need them.

I made breakfast, and we sat down to eat - white bread with cheese and pineapple, as well as my oatmeal with milk and Sammy's cereal. Then I took them to the bathroom, cleaned them up and dressed them, before we went to the living room to read a Bible story. Then Randy wanted to start taking our Christmas tree down, so he went to work. I packed up the nativities and gave them the advent calendar box, that they excitedly pulled apart Then I went to the back to turn my computer on and work on the German translation of our newsletter. By 9 am I'd already changed Tammy's diaper twice since getting up, and Tammy and Emmy came a few times before they started getting busy otherwise, so that I could work in peace. When Margit came over, they went outside to see the sheep again, and then played with her. At 11 am Paul arrived, gave me a report, and then I went to the kitchen to get cooking. They were already hungry and asking for food. At 11:45 Margit left, and a few minutes later we sat down to eat.

And they all ate really well today. Randy said that they'd not eaten as many snacks today. Then we cut open a new watermelon, and it was the best yet, even though the watermelon season is over. However, we paid double the last price for them, and it was worth it. I couldn't believe how much Tammy could eat of it; it's probably not the best for the diarrhea.

Then I took them to the bathtub to clean them all up, we dressed them, and put them to bed. Sammy always falls asleep fast, while the other two seem to enjoy giving us a challenge. Today it took particularly long, with Emmy falling asleep around 1:20, and Tammy twenty minutes later. I then went back to work, having lots to do. Just before 3 pm the power went out. All the fans stop and suddenly it's completely silent. Tammy woke up and got up, even though I tried to lie down with her, and then Emmy was up, and then Sammy woke up as well. And Margit was arriving just at the same time. Now that I could talk I could call Amadou who went to our electricity room and got the power back on.

The kids were playing with Margit, while Randy was giving them a snack to eat, and I went back to work. I've been working so hard that I was really tired this afternoon, and while I enjoy office work, I wasn't that motivated today, but I powered on anyway. The kids came by from time to time, but mainly kept busy in the living room. Paul had bought a pineapple that Emmy was holding, and it sure looked big in his hands. Randy put Sammy by my stool that had a great height for him to use it as a walker, with Randy pushing the stool forward. And Tammy and Emmy both wanted to sit on the very first chair our carpenter student had made and given to me as a gift. They fought over it, with Emmy running away crying, until Tammy found out there was enough room for both of them, and they ended up sitting on it together.

Margit lets them watch  a lot of videos, and today they wanted to sit in their chairs for that. They looked like they were in school!

At 5:30 I stopped working to go to the kitchen and get their dinner ready. Paul couldn't find any Camembert cheese anywhere his last two shopping trips, so I made an omelet again, for the first time in a long time, and they ate pretty much all of it. They did not like the Emmental cheese on their bread. They all had watermelon, Tammy eating a lot of it, and only Sammy had yoghurt. Then I took them to the bathtub, where they were having fun. We got them out, dressed them, gave them their medicine and reward, and put them to bed. Sammy fell asleep fast, but the other two didnt, even though it was maybe faster than average, when Emmy fell asleep at 7:20 and Tammy by 7:35. I cautiously got up and went to the kitchen to get my food ready. After eating I went back to work. Now my eyes are falling shut, so I'm hoping to get to bed rather early than late.
