HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 904. I had not planned it, but thanks to my nap I was able to work long and it was nearly 2 am before I went to bed, and of course I regret it today. Emmy and Tammy joined us in bed in the early morning hours. They were already up at 7 am, and then we got up about 20 minutes later. I made breakfast, and we sat down to eat. Tammy surprisingly ate all her cereal, which hardly ever happens, but barely touched the other food. Emmy didn't eat much either. Then I cleaned them up and dressed them, and we went downstairs. I got the Bible out and only Tammy joined me for the story. Randy was already there, so I took my computer and went upstairs.
I was so tired I really wanted to lie down and sleep this morning, but worked instead. I did close my eyes for a little bit without sleeping.
At 11:15 Sonja arrived, and I could hear their cheers downstairs, when they saw her. At 11:30 I went to the kitchen to get cooking, and at noon they came upstairs to eat. Emmy couldn't get enough of the pork, and Tammy ate a lot of it too, as well as the sauerkraut. Emmy doesn't care for sauerkraut, and neither one of them eats dumplings. Sammy likes the dumplings the best.
Yesterday the monthly delivery of squeezies had arrived. We had been completely out of them, and now the shelf was full again, and so that is what they wanted as dessert. They had two each, and then Sammy also wanted one instead of the special pudding he normally eats.
I got the boys ready for bed, while Randy prepared to go do a quick trip to the grocery store. Emmy did not want to lie down with Sonja being here, but he understood that he need to sleep to go to dance class after waking up. Sammy fell alseep quickly today, at 12:40, while Emmy needed another five minutes. Just after 1 pm I went downstairs to bring Tammy up and put her to bed. I was hoping she'd also fall asleep fast, but every time it matters, nap time is a disaster. Sammy woke up at 1:20, before she was even asleep. He had slept 40 minutes, but I had to take him downstairs to Sonja. Tammy continued to struggle; in the future I will not say any more that they need to sleep so we can go somewhere. At 1:35 Emmy woke up, after only 50 minuts. I held him, but he would not go back to sleep, so Randy who had returned took him downstairs to Sonja. Tammy was still struggling to fall asleep and it took unil 1:55 before she did. The whole time I was so very exhausted I could barely keep my eyes open. I'm at the point where I can't go on if I don't get a good night's rest. I just HAVE to go to bed early tonight. As for Tammy, I had to wake her up after 25 minutes, -as we had to leave at 2:30. She was so very tired. I dressed her while lying in her bed, and she finally got up, cranky and crying. We quickly dressed them all and left on time.
Since the tram line we had to take uses so many old trains where our strollers don't fit through the door, we only took the single stroller we have not been using, as I knew it fit, and put Sammy into it. I carried Tammy on my shoulders, and Randy had Emmy on his arm, as we walked to the tram stop, which was quite a long walk, over one bus stop. We didn't wait long before the tram arrived, and in fact, it was an old one we had to carry the stroller into over a few steps. After a few stops it had some technical issues, and when it got to a big, important tram stop, they made us all get off so they could take the tram out of service. We had to get on the other train sitting there, and that one was a new one. We were already late, and now we were getting there even later.
After a few stops we got off and still had to find the entrance, then take an elevator. The group had already started as we were 10 minutes late. We were warmly welcomed and introduced our kids. There were five other kids there. We sat down on the mattresses on the floor, and she still did the welcome song for our kids. Then Emmy sat on Sonja's legs, Tammy on mine, and Sammy's on Randy's for the songs with the leg movements. She did several more songs with actions after that and Tammy tried to follow all the movements, while Emmy did not try quite as hard. In the end she got out a box of instruments which made Emmy's eyes light up, and he immediately went for the bigggest drum he could find. She did a few songs with the instruments as well, and then it was play time. She brought out a whole bunch of toys and equipement for them to play with which got them all excited. Then she left to get some food ready while all the kids were playing.
They were really excited about the slide into the pool of balls. Even Sammy went into it. Sammy also went on the rocking horse and even stood up while on it, like he does on his walker. Tammy and Emmy found a train that made noises, and Tammy was very interested in the toy kitchen that was there. Emmy rode the cars and motorbikes and trains the most.
Then the teacher came out with food, and they sat down at the table. However, they did not eat much. There was no salami or strawberries on the table. After eating, they returned to playing. Then it was time to put everything away and do one last dance, walking in a circle, and then one last song to say good-bye. This had been our first time there to check the place out. I had found it while looking for classes, but then booked the two we went to yesterday. Considering how hard the early time is and that we already have a busy weekend before this, I don't think we'll add this class to our weekly program.
We dressed them, said good-bye, and left to go to the tram stop. We missed one tram and had to wait for the next one, which was a new train. We had to ride for quite a while, then got off and had that long walk again to get back to our building. Tammy and Emmy both wanted to walk with Sonja and were having fun with her. It was about 5:15, when we arrived back home. They wanted to go downstairs with Sonja, where they were having fun with her once again, while I was making their dinner in the kitchen. At 5:50 they came upstairs to eat, and we told Sonja she could go home. After eating at the table, they went into the water, where they ate some more and had fun. Then we got them out and ready for bed. At 6:50 they were all in bed, and it was obvious how tired they were. Tammy threw a fit over nothing and I just took her into my arms and held her and she calmed down. She was the first one asleep by 7:15, which is pretty early for her. The boys needed a little longer, but I was soon able to leave and get something to eat.
I was completely exhausted myself and determined to just get done what absolutely needed to be done before going to bed early. I lost some precious time when I was trying to set up my new phone, as my old phone has died, and finally came to the conclusion I had to send it back. Now I've got to finish cleaning up the kitchen, and then I'm falling into bed.
