HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 906. Last night I headed to bed at 12:30. A few minutes later Emmy walked up to me, I gave him milk, and he walked back to his bed. How much progress we've made since the days, when he wanted to come sleep with us! He and Tammy joined us in the early morning hours, and Emmy slept really long this morning. It was Tammy who was up first, and then Sammy started crying, and we got him to join us in bed as well. Tammy and Sammy were up and talking for a long time, before Emmy finally woke up. We then all got up, and it was already a late 7:45 am.
I made breakfast, and we sat down to eat. Tammy barely ate anything at all. Then I cleaned them up and dressed them, and we went downstairs, where we read a Bible story together. Randy came, and I went upstairs to work.
In the course of the morning Emmy repeatedly came to the gate to call for Sonja. I kept telling him that she wasn't here yet. He was really impatient to see her. At 11:15 the doorbell finally rang, and Sonja walked through the door. Emmy and Tammy cheered on the bottom of the stairs and were impatient for her to come downstairs, which she did. A while later I started making lunch, and at noon we sat down to eat. I had leftover pasta from yesterday, and another pasta dish I had made today, and Emmy was eating all my new pasta instead of the leftovers. Tammy didn't want to eat anything once again. Randy said she had eaten a lot of oatmeal and snacks. They had some pudding, and then Emmy went potty with success. Then I cleaned them up, we dressed them, and Sonja went downstairs with Tammy, much to Emmy's dismay. I told him as soon as he woke up he could go downstairs to be with Sonja. Sammy was asleep fast, but Emmy needed until 1 pm. Then Tammy came upstairs, and I finally left her before she was asleep, and she fell asleep by herself around 1:30.
As always Emmy was up first, and rather early, before 2 pm. Randy took him downstairs. Then Emmy was up as well and of course wanted to go downstairs. At 2:30 Randy brought Sammy upstairs and got him ready to leave for physiotherapy with him, which he did a few minutes later. Tammy woke up at 3 pm, and she also wanted to go downstairs, so I took her there, together with their snacks. It's nice to be able to walk away for once, without them screaming for you.
I really enjoyed being able to work all afternoon without them calling me and the pressure to respond to them instead of working. All I heard was laughter, from them as well as from Sonja, and after Sammy returned at 4:30, he joined the fun downstairs. Randy had taken the walker Sammy has had this past week with him, as the physiotherapist wanted to see his progress, and then he brought it back home again so he could use it one more week before returning it. Most of his session he was moving up and down stairs, as you can see in the pictures.
At 5:30 I went to the kitchen to start making their dinner. Once again I just heard them laugh, and they were laughing so hard that I was wondering what they were doing. I finished their food, put in on the table, and went downstairs and got lucky enough to see what they were doing. Sonja had put the couch throw on the floor, and all three were on it with her pulling it across the room. She was also tired from doing it so much. I told them it was time to tidy up, and with a lot of convincing we got Tammy to do a little, but Emmy never lifted a finger, as always. Once we were done, we all went upstairs to eat.
We took their clothes off, and they sat down at the table. I added the soup to their plates, and Tammy and Emmy ate all of it today. Sonja said her good-byes. They didn't eat much else, except for the bread and cheese in my own hand. Before I knew it Emmy was up and in the bathtub; no potty tonight. Tammy joined him right away. I put the rest of their food on a plate and took it to the bathroom. They ate a lot of it but not all; Sammy didn't finish all his food either. They were having fun in the bathtub, until there was some poop, but it was small, so we got it out and continued. They definitely need to go potty again in the future before going into the water.
They all came out one after another, and we got them ready for bed. I was surprised, when I looked at the clock, and it was already 7:10 before they were all in bed. I sat down by their beds, and Tammy lay down on my chest. Then we started talking about all kinds of things. Tammy went to bed, and I encouraged them to stop talking and go to sleep. I also always sing the same two songs every night. They just would not fall asleep, and at 7:45 I'd had enough and walked away. It was Sammy who had a rough evening tonight, as he kept waking up and crying. I held him and comforted him, but he only stopped crying once Randy took him and held him. Thankfully it's been quiet now for a while.
I got myself something to eat and ate, while setting up my new phone. Randy got his yesterday, and I got mine today. Both our phones died at the same time, with different issues. I was thankful that I was able to transfer everything, except for WhatsApp. I'll still have to find a solution for that.
