Day 1156. Today's swimming class was canceled, and so we had a morning off and no pressure to get up at a certain time. Emmy is always the first one up at about 7:30, and Tammy the last one to wake up. Sometimes Emmy is trying hard to get me out of bed, and today was one of those days. It was already after 9 am before we got up.
After breakfast I took them downstairs, where we read a Bible story together. Then I returned upstairs to work, but there was little time to do so. At 11:15 I went to the kitchen to start making lunch. And it took longer than expected with all the cutting I had to do. They came upstairs before noon and started watching videos. It was only at 12:15 that we sat down to eat. They all had icecream after eating, then I cleaned them up and dressed them. They continued watching videos for a few minutes, and at 1:15 I put them to bed for their nap. Emmy fell asleep first, and Tammy needed the longest. I even had to come back to her.
After I left their side I returned to my computer to work. Sammy woke up first, and I got him out of bed. Randy went downstairs with him. Emmy woke up at 2:30 pm, and after some milk he also went downstairs. With 3 pm approaching they came back upstairs, and we woke up Tammy. We got them all dressed and left the house at 3:15 pm. It was such a sunny and warm day that the kids were short-sleeved without their jackets on. We took the subway and then the bus and arrived at the dancing school quite some time before the class started.
We went upstairs, where we took their shoes off, then waited for the teacher to arrive. We thought we'd have their regular teacher back who's been sick, but instead last week's teacher was doing the class. On one hand I liked her, on the other hand it bothered me that we did a song on "sorcery" last week and again today. It's just a children's song, turning everyone into different animals, so they get to pretend to be a cat, etc., but it still bothers me. The teacher was amazed that Emmy had remembered some of the words of the song and said that he was gonna be a singer some day. She also said today that our children were well-behaved. It was true that the two other kids that were there today were a lot less involved.
In any case they had a fun 50 minutes. You could tell that we had not gone swimming today, as they had a lot more energy and were running around the whole time. They also participated more as they were less tired. Only Sammy seemed really tired; he hadn't slept that long at nap time. I had him for most of the time, as he always wanted to be with me.
After the class we put their shoes back on and left. We were walking in the direction of the bus stop and went to the grocery store first. The kids each got a kids' cart again, and all the groceries went into their carts. Again they kept trying to grab other stuff off the shelves that we then had to put back. We paid and left to walk to the bus stop. When we got there, it said that the bus was only coming in 15 minutes' time. And so we started walking in the direction of the subway. But then the bus suddenly passed us - after a lot less than 15 minutes. We then ended up waiting for the next bus at the next bus stop. We were lucky as we were the first strollers in there. Not long after 3 more strollers got on, which meant we were really crammed in there. Tammy and Emmy were watching videos the whole time. After we got off, we took the subway home. It was already 6:15, when we got home, a lot later than usual.
Given that I had an 8 pm lesson, I was a little streesed by the advanced hour. And so I had the kids sit down at the table right away and quickly gave them something to eat. I was able to catch up on the lost time and had them all in bed and prayed for by 7:45 pm. I then left them to get ready for my lesson and went downstairs with my computer, while Randy sat down by them. I was done just before 9 pm and returned upstairs. The kids were all asleep. I started making my salad, and it was only at 9:45 that I was able to start eating, so pretty late. After I was done, I started working on today's pictures. Now it's 1 am and time to clean up the kitchen and then go to bed.
