Day 1186. I didn't set an alarm this morning, even though I knew that Christine from Caritas was coming at 8:30. I thought it was an opportunity to stay in bed longer. Randy let her in, but I didn't get to stay in bed longer than usual. I had to get up to give them their spoons for breakfast and ended up feeding Sammy myself after all. After breakfast I cleaned them up and dressed them, while Christine was cleaning up a little bit. Of course that interested the kids who then wanted to clean too, and so they both had the broom at some point, and Tammy tried to brush the dirt onto the shovel and then threw it into the trash.

Randy and Sammy left the house at 9:45 to go to his physiotherapy session. Christine then went downstairs with the other two and wanted to do some crafts and drawing with them. I gave her what she needed and went back upstairs. I had a lesson from 10 to 11 am. After I was done, they came upstairs, as Christine wanted to do banana oatmeal cookies with them, and that's what they ended up doing. I gave them what they needed and took the pictures. It was fun watching them experiencing something new.

After they were done they went back downstairs to play. At 12:15 Randy and Sammy returned, and we sat down to have lunch. They had some of their own cookies as well as icecream, and then wanted to watch something, even though Christine was still with us. And so they ended up watching Pinocchio, while Christine did some more cleaning and then left just before 1:30. At 1:15 I put the kids to bed for their nap. The boys fell asleep first, while Tammy needed longer. Eventually I walked away and lay down myself to take a much-needed nap. I was extremely tired after a very short night with lots of interruptions. I set my timer and soon fell asleep.

At 2:30 my timer went off. I got up and got myself ready, then woke the kids up, and we got them ready to leave at 2:45. We took the subway, and then the bus, and got to the dancing school on time. We went to the top floor and waited there together with the other kids and parents. Five minutes into the class and still no teacher there, we were finally told that the class was in another room one floor down, so we all went there. There was a substitute teacher that I had never seen before, and you could tell right away that this class was going to be different. It was classical music, and the teacher started doing ballet moves!!! Everyone was a little taken off guard. It was funny how the parents tried to imitate the teacher, while none of the kids tried to do the moves they could not do yet at their age. It was really weird and puzzling. It didn't take long before the first kids left, and so did we, as there was no point to this. What a waste of time! Other kids followed us as well, so I don't think the teacher had anyone left in the end. Several parents complained at the reception. We dressed them and left to go back home.

We had originally planned to go to the grocery store, but were not going to do that any more. Also no videos for the kids on the way home. They kept asking for the grocery store and the videos over and over again, but to no avail. We got on the crowded bus, then were glad to get off and took the subway home, where we arrived just before 5 pm. I could have taught at 5 pm lesson. Randy went downstairs with the kids, while I started working on the French translation of our newsletter that was already sent out last Sunday. And I did not get it done in the time I had. Randy and the kids came back upstairs before 6 pm, and I went to the kitchen to make their dinner.

My 8 pm lesson was canceled, so I did not have to watch the time. Tammy and Emmy were watching Superbook, while Sammy soon joined me in the kitchen in his special chair and therefore got to eat some of his food already. At 6:30 we sat down at the table to eat. They didn't eat much but preferred to go into the bathtub and then eat there, which they did. Then we got them ready for bed. We sat down for a bedtime story, then I prayed for them, and they went to bed. What I did not mention is that they had run in circles after each other for quite some time until they were powered out. I sat down by them, but Randy soon finished eating and took my place. I went to the kitchen to make my salad, then sat down to eat. Then I started working on today's pictures. The newsletter is still not done, but I'll be able to finish it tomorrow. Now it's after midnight and need to make it to bed soon, as I'm doing a lot of teaching tomorrow.
