Day 1213. With Emmy well again, I told him last night that he needed to sleep in his own bed again, which he said he didn't want to. He still spent a lot of the night in bed with me, but less than when he was sick. This morning it was again later, when we all woke up at 8:45. All the kids joined me in bed, and we opened the advent calendars together. Then we sat down for breakfast. After breakfast, it was time to make the Christmas cookies, which had been delayed due to Emmy being sick. I already had the dough in the fridge and got it out. It was pretty hard. Tammy and Emmy got a chair each to stand on in the kitchen, while I started rolling out the dough so they could cut out the cookies in different shapes. Sammy was in his standing device that has a tray and cut cookies out there.

After a while they were losing interest to keep going, and I did the third tray of cookies myself. Randy then took the kids downstairs, but not for long. It was after 11:15, and not knowing what to cook, I asked Randy to make his omelets today. it had been weeks since the last time anyway. And so they came back upstairs, and Randy started cooking, while the kids started watching Christmas movies.

It was after noon, when we sat down to eat. The kids were eating little omelet, and mostly bacon.  While we were at the table, the doorbell rang. It was the guy from yesterday with a colleague who had returned to fix the heating downstairs. We now have 16 degrees Celsius there (61 F), which is terrible cold. It took them some time, but then they figured out that two parts were broken and needed to be replaced. They told us right away that they would not arrive before Christmas. We're therefore gonna have a cold Christmas this year.

By the time the kids were dressed again, it was nearly 1 pm and therefore time to lie down for their nap, as we had to leave the house at 2 pm. Tammy was giving me somewhat of a hard time and fell asleep last. By the time I lay down I could only set my timer for 15 minutes and never got to sleep, as Randy came in to talk to me a few times. When the timer went off, I got up, got dressed and then got the kids up to dress them. Just after 2 pm we left the house. The subway came right away, and so we arrived at the school a few minutes before the class was to start. We took their coats and shoes off and went inside the gym.

We started with a greeting song that the kids did not participate in. Then we did a warm up, running and walking in different ways, and they did some of that. Then she set up some stations around the room. I got a ball and started playing with Sammy. He'd push the ball to me, and I'd kick it back to him. He did pretty well catching it.

Tammy and Emmy, in the meantime, were pulling themselves up and down the benches and jumping on the trampolin. Tammy then got a hold of me, put a hoop around her waist and had me run after her as if she was my horse. We did that for quite some time. Then I suddenly saw Randy pulling the boys on the teacher's cart. That was a first, but the boys were enjoying it.

Next the teacher removed all the stuff and had us sit down on mats on the floor. The kids then had to run around the room and return to us every time the music stopped. After a few rounds they both had enough and stayed seated with us. We then did an action song sitting down. Next she dumped out a box of balls, and the kids had to bring them back. Then she gave them cones, so they could put the small balls inside and the big ones on top. Emmy worked hard on filling two cones and bringing them back.

Then the kids sat down on the mats, and we pulled the mats back to where they were stacked. I pulled Tammy (as fast as possible), while Randy pulled the boys. She then did a few more songs, including the caroussel song. I had Sammy for the first two rounds, but then Tammy wanted me to be her caroussel. Sammy wants to be with me all the time, but by now I do feel his 10 kilo weight after a while of carrying him.

We did the good-bye song, and then the class was over after 50 minutes. While we were putting their shoes and coats back on, they were already asking to watch videos. I had told them at lunch time that there was not gonna be videos today as Emmy had misbehaved at the table, and Tammy after I put her down for a nap. Still, they kept asking as we were walking to the subway and then rode it back home.

By 4 pm we were back home. Randy went downstairs with them, while I was preparing my 5 pm lesson. Randy and the kids came upstairs half an hour before I was done teaching because of the cold downstairs. And he let them watch Veggie Tales, not knowing that I had said no videos today. After I was done teaching, I went to the kitchen to start making their dinner, while Emmy continued watching and Tammy started playing baby games on my phone. Today it was quite a bit later before we sat down at the table to eat. They ate some, then continued eating in the bathtub. Emmy was extremely cranky, so that he came out of the water first, and he went straight to bed. I was wondering whether he was still sick. Then the other two came out. When we sat down to open the advent calendars, Emmy left his bed again. Then I prayed for them and flew them into bed. It was already 8:30 by the time I sat down by their beds after having put them to bed. I was getting hungry and Randy had finished eating, and so I stayed until the kids said it was okay for me to leave, which thankfully did not take too long. But Tammy continued fussing, wanting this and that for quite some time, as usual. By the time I sat down to eat close to 9:30 pm, they were all asleep. Later Tammy woke up crying and kept crying for quite some time, even while I was holding her. I could not get her to calm down and tell me what was going on. Finally she did calm down. She had eaten two pastries before going to bed, and we think she had some digestive issues as a result. She was okay again after passing some gas, and went back to bed and to sleep. Later it was Sammy who woke up crying and would not be comforted. Randy then succeeded, but Sammy started crying again once he put him to bed. He cried from midnight until after 1 am. I sat down by his bed, but he started crying a few times before he finally fell back into a deep sleep. He has a bad cough, and I believe his throat was hurting bad. Surprisingly, Emmy has not been up once and it's already 2 am. That's unusual. We'll see how long he'll stay in his bed tonight. Now I need to clean up the kitchen and also go to bed.
