Day 1190. I did not set an alarm this morning, but we did have to get up at 9 am. Tammy and Emmy had one of their fights, and Emmy usually scratches her. Today he scratched her in the face, and she now has a long scratch on the side of her face, going from the top past her eye to the nose. I told him no videos today.
At 10 am we left the house and took the subway, then had a long walk to the school, where they attend their music class. They behaved and participated the best in weeks. I was impressed.
Today the teacher had a drum for them to hit with their hands, and it went around the room to each kid individually. All three did well. They also had the sticks with bells on the end and used them well today. Later she got the fabric out, which she sometimes does, and they enjoyed the different things she does with them. One is for them to cover up their faces, and then the teacher pretends that that child has disappered. They always enjoy doing that and then uncovering their faces, with the teacher excited that the child is back. Tammy and Emmy run around the room with the fabric on their head, like nobody can see them do that either, which is always pretty funny. Today the teacher pulled Emmy's fabric off his head right away, so he didn't get to run far.
After 50 minutes the class was over. We dressed them again and left to go back home. After our long walk we got on the subway, and they did not watch any videos, much to their dismay. Once we got home at noon, I decided to let them watch as they had behaved so very well in their class. I turned the phone on for them, then heated up yesterday's leftover, and we soon sat down at the table to eat. They had icecream, then we cleaned them up and dressed them. Sammy went into his bed to play, while the other two continued watching their video. Sometimes Sammy falls asleep before the others come to lie down, and that was the case today. At 1:15 pm his siblings joined him. Emmy went straight into sleeping position and soon was asleep. Tammy was still awake, when I walked away.
At 1:30 Christine from Caritas arrived. She did some cleaning, while the kids were still asleep. As for me, I desperately needed some sleep and went straight to bed after setting my alarm. I could not have anything keeping from doing so today.
And thankfully the kids also slept longer than usual. Just before 2:40 I woke up from Sammy crying. He was the first one awake. As Randy had gone to the grocery store and Christine was downstairs, I got up to get Sammy and then took him downstairs to Christine. Then I got ready for my 3 pm class. Randy returned, and then Emmy woke up just before I started teaching. He went downstairs to play with Christine. I started teaching and then woke up Tammy by 3:15 so she would not sleep too long.
I ended up teaching until 6 pm, and today I found it to be a bit tedious. I was still tired and not very excited about teaching today. Christine had to leave at 5:30, and the kids had come upstairs with her. Of course they walked in on me teaching, but I still had a good 15-20 minutes left to teach, so it was way too early. Thankfully they left the room again after a few minutes of curiously watching. After I was done, they started watching Superbook, while I went to the kitchen to start making their dinner. I had a slow start and needed longer than usual. Sammy fell over the railing of his sister's bed and was crying hard. He has quite a bump on his forehead. He then joined me in the kitchen and had fun there with me.
At 6:45 we sat down to eat, then they continued eating in the bathtub, while having fun. Then we got them ready for bed, and I sat down to read them a bedtime story. My 8 pm lesson had been canceled, so I had time. After the story I prayed for them, then they went to bed. It was 8 pm. I sat down by them, and after Randy was done eating, he took my place. I then went to the kitchen to make my salad which takes time. The kids fell asleep relatively fast tonight, which is surprising given how long their nap was today. I sat down to eat, then started working on today's pictures. Now it's after midnight and time to clean up the kitchen and hopefully go to bed soon, as we have to get up early tomorrow, and I have quite a long day.
