HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1232. This morning I set my alarm for 9 am. However, everyone was up before that. After breakfast, we all got ready to leave the house at 10 am, and we actually left a few minutes late. We got on the subway, rode it for two stops, and then had quite a bit of walking to do. It was raining a little bit. We got to the school, took their coats and shoes off, and went into the room, where the music class was about to start. The kids had missed the last class before Christmas because they were sick, and next week we'll be on vacation. After that, there is only one session left.
We started with the general greeting song, then the one where each kid is named. I had Sammy with me most of the time. Every time my arms were getting tired and I tried to hand him to Randy, he complained and wanted to stay with me. We did some songs with rattles and with bells, and did some songs walking in a circle. There was also a time for free dancing, and Tammy and Emmy decided to dance with each other and had lots of fun.
One time she had an instrument that each kid got to play individually, passing it around the room from child to child. Once again it became obvious how gifted Emmy is for rhythmical instruments.
The 50 minutes passed quickly, and then it was time for the good-bye song. They each got their stamp, then we put their coats and shoes back on and left. Their behavior had been okay for the most time, but not so much Tammy's, and I decided not to let them watch anything on the short two-stop ride home on the subway.
We got home just before noon. I had nothing VERY quick left at home to eat, so I started cooking right away, while Tammy and Emmy finally got to watch something. At about 12:15 we sat down to eat. The same two did not want to eat icecream so they could continue watching videos, while I fed Sammy some icecream. At 1:15 I put them all to bed, while Randy left to go to the grocery store. I sat down by them, and was glad that they were all asleep just after 1:45. I went to bed myself, but it was 2:15 before I closed my eyes to get some sleep. Randy had just returned home. Less than half an hour later, and only a few minutes after having fallen asleep, Sammy woke up and started crying hard. Randy was asleep too, and so I had no choice but to get up and get him. He didn't stay with me long, as he wanted Daddy, so I let him down on the floor, and he crawled to him. Emmy then walked into the room as well and lay down with me for a few minutes. Then all the boys went downstairs.
There was no more sleeping for me obviously. I got up and started working. Tammy was still sleeping, so I finally woke her up at 3:30 pm, and she also went downstairs. Just after 4 pm I started teaching and did so until 5 pm. And by that time Randy was already coming upstairs with the kids. He needed to leave at 5:30, but I still had work to do until 6 pm, which was a lot harder with the kids around.
At 6 pm I went to the kitchen to make their dinner. Tammy and Emmy were watching videos, while Sammy soon joined me in the kitchen. At 6:30 we sat down at the table to eat, then they went into the bathtub. That is all except Emmy whose hand is still bandaged. They continued eating while having fun, then I got them out one after another and got them ready for bed. All that was a lot harder on my own, without Randy's help. I read a bedtime story for them, prayed for them and put them to bed. I had a 8:30 pm student, and it soon became clear that Randy was not gonna be back by then. He had gone to the other end of town, and it wasn't that easy to transport a whole bunch of drums a long distance like that. I asked the kids to be good kids, when I started teaching and told them that Daddy was gonna be home soon. He arrived at about 8:50, and the kids got up to see the drums. Especially Emmy had been really excited about them.
I continued teaching and finished at 9:20 pm. Emmy was the only one still awake and insisted on me sitting down by him, which I did. Then he soon fell asleep, and I was able to leave his side again. I continued working. Now it's 12:30 am and time to clean up the kitchen before going to bed.
