HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1246. This morning I had set an alarm for 9 am, but of course they were up before that. I was thankful that nobody had thrown up all night, and nobody did during the day ever. Whatever it was, it passed quickly, thank God. Emmy was still complaining about his belly aching tonight.
He was also the first one up this morning, as usual, and him talking woke up his brother. Soon Tammy was up as well. We then got up before 9 am, had breakfast - them finally eating more - and got them dressed so we could leave for their last music class at 10 am. However, it was quite a bit after 10, and so we got there late.
We took the subway, then walked and quickly took their coats and shoes off, then joined the others in the classroom. They had still made it in time to have everyone song the greeting song with their names in it. After another song, it was Tammy who went to the teacher to sit on her legs for the next song, where she throws them off at the end. We did it three times, which is quite a workout for your legs. I had Sammy, and I had him for most of the class.
She then got a drum out, played a song with it, where she alternated between playing loudly and softly, then passed it on to the kids who played the same song one after another. Then she had us all get up, and we did a walking song together, then there was free dancing. I danced with Sammy, who loves doing that with me. Tammy and Emmy were holding hands and wildly dancing with each other.
Then we sat down again, and she got an instrument out that we had never seen before. It was a wooden frog with spikes on his back. She had a little wooden stick that she glided over its back, making a noise. She played it first, then had every kid play the same song with it. The kids were intrigued by that unusual instrument.
Next we did another walking song, where a kid's name is called, and then that kid turns and turns on the spot. After that, we sat down again, and she got fabric out, handing one to each person. She had them do different things with the fabric, moving it certain ways, then the kids were supposed to put it on their heads to hide. Emmy helped his sister, who did not need any help, and Sammy enjoyed it as well. Then we already did the good-bye song, and the last music class was over.
It was time for them to go get their last stamp. Tammy and Emmy went to the teacher right away to get their stamps, while Sammy was also motivated, crawling over to her. The teacher had given a short good-bye speech, and I told her that we were not coming back as our kids needed a class for older kids, but that I had not found one yet. She then said that that was understandable, especially for Emmy who is obviously so very gifted. Everyone can see Emmy's gift, and I hope I can help him maximize it. Later in the day I was looking for a drums teacher and wrote two, asking at what age kids should start taking drumming lessons.
As for Sammy, he has recently started singing, and did so in class today. It's always great to see him do new things!
We put their coats and shoes back on and started on our journey home. It had rained in the morning - all the beautiful snow from yesterday mostly gone - but thankfully it was not raining any more. The kids had asked me whether they had behaved well, and I said yes. They had behaved really well today and had participated. We walked to the subway stop, then rode the two stops home, where we arrived just before 12 o'clock. The kids were ready to play or watch something, and I let them. Then I went to the kitchen to make something quick. I put a lasagna into the microwave, and warmed up some SpƤtzle with Goulash. Then we sat down at the table to eat.
They did not eat very much. They continued with their videos and games, while I tried to give Sammy icecream that he didn't want. Just after 1:15 I told them it was time for their nap, and then I put them to bed. I was surprised how fast they fell asleep, and even more by how long they slept. I soon walked away, before Tammy was completely asleep . While I had wanted to take a nap myself, I had so much work to do that I used the time to work. Randy had left for the grocery store, and he only returned at 3 pm He started putting the groceries away, and so Sammy soon woke up from the noise. He had slept 90 minutes, which is long for him. I picked him up and put him on the floor, and he crawled to Daddy to help him with the groceries. A while later Emmy also woke up and joined us. Now for him to sleep two hours, that is quite something. That's something he hadn't done in a long time. Tammy soon woke up as well. Emmy lay down with me for a few minutes, then got up, and in the end they all went downstairs with Randy.
4 pm was approaching, but my student had canceled the class. As much as I had to do, I did not mind. At 5 pm I started my only lesson of the day. It ended just before 6 pm, and surprisingly the kids had not yet come upstairs.
It didn't take long for them to show up and ask to watch something. I set it up for them, then walked into the kitchen to start making their dinner. Just after 6:30 we sat down at the table to eat, then they continued eating in the bathtub. We then got them out one after another and ready for bed. I read them a Bible story, then prayed for them and flew them into bed. It was about 8 pm, their usual time, but earlier than last week while we were on vacation. Given their long nap today, I was very surprised, when they fell asleep quickly. The boys were asleep before Randy was done eating. Tammy was also nearly gone, when she asked for Daddy to come and take my place, and he then did. I left and started cutting up my salad.
It takes a while, and so it was already pretty late, when I sat down to eat. Once done I started working on the pictures and then my report. Now it's nearly 1 am and time to clean up the kitchen and go to bed.
