HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1266. Even though it was Sunday, and we could have slept in, Emmy woke up at his usual 7:30 time. He wanted to listen to stories on the headset, and once Tammy was awake, they wanted to watch Kasperl. Just after 9 am Randy got up to make oatmeal and change their diapers. After breakfast I cleaned them up and dressed them, and they went downstairs, while I turned my computer on to work. It was already after 10 am, so time was short, as I went to the kitchen to cook at 11:15 am.
Just after noon we sat down to eat. Everyone ate all, but only Sammy had the last of Randy's birthday cake with icecream. The other two got a lollipop each and returned to the video they had started watching before lunch.
Normally they got to bed at 1:15, but not today. I was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep, but that was not possible. Just after 1 pm I started putting their clothes and costumes on. The big carnival parties are next weekend, but today there was a two-hour event not that far from us. The kids were excited to finally get to put their costumes on that they had wanted. Tammy wanted to be a princess, and Emmy Ryder from Paw Patrol. For Sammy I thought that a cowboy was the perfect costume for him, and he was looking great. Tammy and Emmy were so very excited and looked at themselves in the mirror. Tammy not only had a diadem and a necklace, but also a ring, earrings and a scepter.
We left the house with both strollers just after 1:30 pm, as the event was starting at 2 pm. Sammy does not like hats so that his cowboy hat did not stay on for long. We took the subway for a couple of stops, then got off, took the elevator to the surface and crossed the street to get to the amusement park. People were streaming there from every direction, people with kids in costumes. And so there was already a lot a people there, even though it was just 2 pm, the time it was starting.
There were different stations set up everywhere, but so many people lining up that you could not even see what they were offering. I saw a table, where they were blowing up balloons and lined up there to get three balloons for the kids. Then we walked on, approaching an area, where someone was speaking with a microphone. However, you couldn't understand what he was saying. They were was a lady disguised as a butterfly on stilts who was dancing. I put Tammy on my shoulders so she could see.
We walked on, but I was a little disappointed that that was everything that was there. We stopped at one station, where they had chalk to draw on the ground with, and Tammy and Emmy spent a few minutes drawing. And that was all that was there. There was supposed to be a parade for us to join, but there was no sign of it, and so we decided to go back home. Especially Sammy was getting really tired and cranky. Normally they sleep at that time. Going home instead of going to church from there was giving us the chance to take a nap before church.
And so we walked back to the subway, got on and rode it home. Just after 3 pm we were back home, and I put them to bed right away. Randy sat down by them, while I went to bed myself. I was surprised at how quickly they were quiet and fell asleep. I set a one-hour timer and fell asleep.
My phone woke me up at 4:20. I got up, woke everyone else up and got everyone ready for us to leave. The kids wanted to wear their costumes to church as well. We made the 4:50 train, bought some chestnuts and got on the tram that would take us to church, where we arrived just before 5:30 pm. Worship had just started. The kids ran to the front, where Tammy soon started gathering up the fabric to dance with again. I had Sammy and had fun with him. Soon they were all asking to go upstairs, and we already did so at 5:45 pm.
We were the first ones in the toddler room but didn't stay alone for long. I left them there and returned to the sanctuary, where I enjoyed the worship time, and then the beginning of the sermon. At 6:45 I went back upstairs. When Tammy saw me, she left her toys and ran to me like she hadn't seen me in a long time. I then took Sammy, while Randy left to change Emmy's diaper. I put Sammy by the box of toys he likes, where he started playing, while Emmy was building with Duplos right next to him - until Randy left with him. Then it was time to put their shoes back on and leave. Sammy kept asking for Anna, but I already knew that she wasn't there, and I told him so. He was also asking for Grandma and Sonja. I told him that Sonja should be there. However, it was 7:10 and the service was still not over, and so we put their coats on and left.
We walked to the tram stop, where I got their dinner boxes out, and all three started eating. Tammy and Emmy were also watching Peppa Pig. The tram came quickly, and we continued on the tram. After we got off, we still had twenty minutes to wait for our train. We stood by the ticket machines that Sammy loves playing with as the touch screen talks. They all finished their food there. Then we took the 8 pm train and were home a few minutes later. We started getting them ready for bed, then they all wanted to read Bible stories, and so it was 8:45 before they were all in bed. I sat down by them until Randy had finished cooking dinner, then he took the seat and I left to get something to eat. Then I started working on today's pictures. Now it's after 1 pm and time to clean up the kitchen and go to bed. We have an early morning tomorrow.
