HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1278. Yesterday we stayed home, except for Sammy who had physiotherapy in the afternoon. and that's also the only picture. I gave lessons in the morning, afternoon and evening; twice a week I teach from 8 to 10 pm.
Today Sammy also had therapy, speech therapy. Normally I go there with him, but today I had a 11 am lesson to teach, and so Randy had to go with him. They left at 10 am, and so we still had some time. They wanted me to paint their faces, and so I agreed, and we went downstairs, where I painted them as Rubble from Paw Patrol and a princess. Then Emmy and Tammy were watching videos, while I was teaching. I finished just before noon and went to the kitchen to cook. Randy and Sammy had just returned as well. It was about 12:30, when we sat down to eat. They all ate more or less well and then had icecream. There was still a little bit of time, and so Tammy and Emmy returned to their video. At 1:15 I stopped it to put them to bed, while Randy left to go on a grocery run. It took some time to get them to lie down, but thank God, they fell asleep quickly, and I was able to walk away.
And I didn't have much time. I was glad that I had enough time to close my eyes and set my timer to be woken up 10 minutes before my 2:30 lesson. And I could tell I had slept well, when that unwelcome moment had come. I had no choice but to get up and get ready. And of course I could hear Sammy being up and got him out of bed. It didn't take long for the others to be up as well. Just as I started my lesson, Randy returned - perfect timing. However, it was still loud for a while, and Sammy always bangs at my door while I'm teaching, while the other two keep walking into the room, all of which is distracting.
I had two lessons and taught until 4:20 pm. However, Randy already came upstairs with the kids at 4 pm, and once again they were giving me a hard time, banging at the door and trying to get into the room. When I was done, I could tell that the kids already had their shoes on and were about ready to leave the house. I got myself ready as well, and we left the house on time at 4:30 pm.
We took the subway and then had quite a long walk ahead of us. Tammy was complaining that her knee was hurting. We got to the school on time and walked straight into the classroom. Today there were only two other children there. The teacher started by playing a song for everyone to dance to, and ever so often she stopped the music and everyone had to freeze in place. Sammy wanted to be with me all the time, and so I had him for most of the time. We were having fun dancing together, and the others did too. Then, every time she stopped the music, she named a body part that they had to touch the floor with, and they were all doing a great job - including Daddy.
Next she got out fabric that the kids had to throw up into the air and were not supposed to ever let fall on the ground. Sammy was playing with a little girl for some time, the fabric going back and forth between them. And he also likes covering himself up to hide, which we did a lot in music class. In any case, everyone was having fun.
Finally the teacher sat down to do some stretching, I guess to teach them some exercises in preparation for "real" dancing. Tammy did it all, while Emmy was not very excited about it. The teacher finally called him over to sit by her, and then he did them. I had Sammy at first who always laughs when you pull his legs apart, and he can't go far at all. Then Randy took him and made him laugh.
Then it was time for the final song, where we walked in a circle and kept changing direction. It was a fun song, where we made different sounds. Then the class was over. While we put their shoes on, the kids started playing with the hoops there, and Sammy was crying, when we took it away from him so we could leave.
We decided to try to take the tram for two stops to go back to the subway instead of doing the long walk. We first had to go the opposite direction, and then we just missed a tram and had to wait 7 minutes for the next one. And then it was an old one where Sammy's narrow stroller thankfully fit through the door as we carried him up the steps. All to say, next week we'll be walking again, as it did not save us any time at all, as we also got off the tram a lot further away from our subway. Once we were on the subway, Tammy and Emmy were watching videos, while I sat by the window with Sammy who enjoys looking out.
It was 6:30, when we got home. Yesterday I made a change that I'm going to continue with. No more compartmentalized baby plates. Instead I put their salami sandwich on a regular kids' plate and put some fruit with it, while keeping other cut-up fruit in a box. That way they were able to sit down to eat pretty quickly, and it was easier to take the food to the bathtub, where Sammy finished all his food, and the others got close. Then we got them ready for bed, and the kids were impatient for me to read them Bible stories. I then prayed for them and flew them into bed. It was just after 8 pm. I sat down by them and stayed some time, then Randy took over, and I left to get myself something to eat. Tammy has just started to have a cold, and tonight she's already woken up crying a few times because of it. By 9 pm they were all asleep.
Now it's after 1 am and time to clean up the kitchen and go to bed. Tomorrow is gonna be another busy day from morning till evening.
