Day 925. Last night it was 1:10, when I headed to bed, and it was a short 5+ hour night. It was Sammy who was the first one up before 6:30 am, while the others seemed to do some catching up on sleep. We had no choice but to go get him out of bed. Once in our bed, he gets unhappy after a while as well, unless you put him on the floor, where he can go and do what he wants. I did, and then Tammy came along at 6:40 and sat down, and they were both playing for a while. Until Sammy tore a page out of the new book which really distressed Tammy. I told her I was gonna tape it. Emmy came along at about 7 am and joined the play party. I got up somewhere around 7:30 and went to the kitchen to make breakfast.

We sat down to eat, but they didn't eat much as usual. Then I cleaned them up and dressed them. And then they found their new Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol bedding in the laundry, as I wanted to wash them once before they sleep with them. They were all excited and wanted to look at it closely.

We left the house just after 9 am, walked to the subway and rode the line to the end. Then we had to take a tram. 3 or 4 of the other line came before ours. I had read that they have so many drivers quarantined that the intervals are longer on some lines, and the one we needed was one of them. Finally our tram arrived. It was so full that Tammy and Emmy had to stay in the stroller, but we were having fun together. After a long ride we got off and still had some walking to do. We got to the pediatrician's office just after 10 am, and my Mom was already waiting for us there. I hadn't seen her or talked to her in quite a while. We registered and sat down to wait.

We were in the little room in the back that is really for nursing Moms and were eventually kicked out of there because the kids were having so much fun that they were making too much noise. They were laughing and giggling with Grandma who was tickling them. I had Sammy for part of the time and was having fun with him. We had to wait quite a long time before we were finally called in.

We had to take their bodies off, then it was time to weigh and measure them. Emmy went first and stepped on the scale by himself. Then we measured him. He was 85 cm tall. Then it was Tammy's turn, and she was a 89.5 cm tall. Sammy came last, and he was 80 cm tall. The doctor came, and Tammy was the first one that she listened to with her stethoscope. Then she looked into her ears and her mouth. Tammy had no problem with it at all. Then it was Emmy's turn. The stethoscope was fine, but he cringed, when she looked into his ears. Looking into his mouth was alright too. Sammy came last, and he had no issue with anything, it was just harder to get him to open his mouth wide.

The easy part was over. The doctor's assistant was gettting their two shots each ready. Tammy went first again, volunteering. They had been so cheerful so far. Grandma had already been telling them they were getting shots, but it hadn't really registered. Tammy still sat down in good faith, but then the needle went into her arm. It was only for a moment, but then the second needle came. The doctor put a bandaid on, I comforted her and gave her her rabbit, and Grandma gave her a squeezie. It was Emmy's turn who was already crying having witnessed his sister crying. I had to use a lot of strength to restrain him and hold his arm steady, then comforted him, and he also got a squeezie. Then it was Sammy's turn who I also held. I tried to comfort him, but Daddy is better at that with him. We dressed them and left the room. The tears had ceased.

We got an appointment for the next time we need to come, paid a lot of money for the 6 shots, and then put their coats on and put them into the strollers. It was time to say good-bye to Grandma once again.

It was already 12:30, when we left there, and it takes us an hour to get home. And we again had to wait a long time for the tram with the longer intervals. A few minutes into the tram ride Emmy wanted out of the stroller, and Tammy to go be with Daddy who'd had to get on through another door because the tram was so full. I quickly pulled my phone out and let them watch Peppa Pig, which kept them where they were. We got off the tram and walked to the subway. This time there was room, and so I put them on seats and then let them continue watching Peppa Pig. We finally got off and walked to our building and into our apartment. It was alread 12:30, when we got home, and normally we eat at noon.

I put the soup on the stove to warm it up, then started taking all their clothes off. They were busy playing with the new books that have just arrived. At 12:45 the cleaning lady arrived, and five minutes later Sonja. The kids were already all sitting at the table. Randy was feeding Sammy, and the other two were barely eating if at all. As for me, I was so very exhausted I could barely function. I was glad Sonja had arrived. I lay down for 3 minutes, then got up to continue working. The kids had some pudding, then I cleaned them up and dressed them and put the boys to bed. It was already 1:20 pm. Emmy fell asleep really quickly, but as expected, Sammy did not. He had slept for a good junk of our trip home and then he never sleeps at nap time. And so I took him downstairs to Sonja, while picking up Tammy to go to bed. By about 1:25 she was in bed, and she also fell asleep quickly.

Randy was making omelets for the adults. I was in such bad shape I really just wanted to sleep. The food helped somewhat, and so I turned my computer on and tried to do some work. At 2:10 Emmy already woke up after 45 minutes. His body was hot and he kept saying that his arm was hurting and crying. After a few minutes I took him downstairs to Sonja and Sammy and returned upstairs. It was 2:55, when I finally closed my eyes. At 3:20 I opened my eyes again; I was still shot. I heard Sonja and the boys approaching. She was coming upstairs because Emmy was crying so hard. The noise from them woke up Tammy, who came running, and she went downstairs with Sonja and Sammy.

I tried to comfort Emmy who kept crying and saying that he was hurting. Randy had gone to the store and he is the one giving them suppositories, which he needed. He continued crying and would not be comforted. He said he was tired, and so I put him to bed and sat down next to him. And then I kept hearing Sammy cry really hard, and so I finally left to get him. He had only slept in the stroller for a while, but not in bed, and I knew that he was tired. I could not comfort him, but he was happy about the milk and then fell asleep in his bed. Randy finally returned and gave Emmy a suppository. I put him back to bed and sat down by the boys, and soon he was asleep as well. It was about 4:15 pm. I took my computer and returned to my workplace, which is our bed, and continued working, tired or not.

The cleaning lady was doing the dining room, had the lights on, and finally Sammy woke up from the noise. Randy gave him a suppository, and it took a while before he could calm him down. As the cleaning lady went on to the baby room, Emmy started opening his eyes, and I picked him up. It was nearly 5 pm. I took him downstairs, and he was totally different, completely fine again. He was having fun with Sonja and his siblings. They had not had any afternoon snacks, so I gave them a box full of fresh cut-up fruit that they ended up emptying completely. It was great seeing Emmy happy again and playing joyfully.

At 5:30 I left them to go upstairs to make their dinner. It was nice being able to do so without them there with me. Once I was done, I called them upstairs to eat. We all sat down at the table, and Sonja said her goodbyes. They didn't eat any more fruit, but I was surprised that together they finished a whole jar of soup. Then they got up to go into the bathtub, and I put their food into bowls. They did eat quite a lot of it in the bathtub. I was glad to see Sammy being himself again. And he cried, when we pulled him away from the fun to be the first one out of the water.

It was their second night in their new pj's, and Emmy wanted me to take his picture again, and then Tammy wanted hers taken. By 7 pm they were all in bed. I sat down by them, and Tammy lay down on my chest, while I was holding Emmy's hand. We talked for a while, then I started singing, and at some point Tammy was willing to go to bed. I stayed in the chair until 7:50 before walking away and going to the kitchen to get myself something to eat.

I went downstairs, ate, and then went back to work. But it wasn't long before Emmy woke up crying and wanting me to sit at his side. And for the next two hours either Randy or myself sat by him, trying to get him to sleep. In the end we gave him a suppository again, hoping he'd finally sleep. As for me, I need to go to bed earlier tonight, as I really suffered from lack of sleep today.
