HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 966. Last night it was going on 1 am, when I went to bed. This morning I woke up with Emmy next to me, who was waking up and me as well at 6:15. He got up and went to his own bed. At 7:30 Tammy woke up and came to me, and soon everyone was up. Sammy joined us in bed, and at 8 am we all got up.
I made breakfast, and we sat down to eat. Then I cleaned them up and dressed them, and just after 9:30 we left the house. It was a cold, cloudy and windy day. We had a long walk to get to the bus stop. I knew what time the bus was coming and walked as fast as I could. We got there just before it came. There was already a stroller on it, but we just about fit our two in there as well. Just before 10 am we got off at the flower gardens Hirschstetten. We walked to the entrance and saw a lot of boarded up stalls, where the Easter market was supposed to be. Oh no! We walked on anyway. There was a good number of other parents with children. From what I had read online I was expecting at least crafts stations and face painting. As we went on we got to the open stalls. Finally! Then we went inside a big hall. There was not much going on there. We saw straw and stuff where they had obviously hidden eggs on the weekend, then a few stands, and that was about it. We walked out at the other end and continued walking until we got to the playground. It was pretty cold, but they started playing.
The first thing they did was to jump on a blow-up tarp. I had Sammy and put him into a baby swing. Then the other two climbed through a metal wire pipe and did pretty well. I remember a year ago, when they tried but had to turn around.
We continued on to the next part of the playground. The ground was all sand, and Tammy especially enjoyed playing with it with the sand toys that were playing around. But first we went to the slide, and they went down, including Sammy. There was also another slide, and Sammy wanted to climb up the ladder, and so I helped him. He went down the slide a few times, with Randy catching him at the bottom. He really enjoyed climbing up there. Then we went on to the next part of the playground. I put Sammy on the bee, while Tammy and Emmy climbed into the beehive and went down the slide to come back out. Then they went on a turning wheel going round and round, before we walked on to the last part of the playground. Sammy went on a hammock, while the other two went to a climbing construct. Randy stayed with Sammy, and I helped the other two. Their hands were ice-cold. We decided it was time to head home.
We were walking back to the hall we had already crossed once and crossed it again. By now a crafts station had opened up, but it wasn't inviting in any way, so we continued on. We walked by the stalls and to the exit and back to the bus stop. We got on the bus, and after we got off, we still had a long walk home. At noon we were back home.
I got yesterday's leftovers out and warmed them up, while Randy was taking their clothes off. Then we sat down to eat. Tammy and Emmy were pretty hyper and playing around all the time. Randy was already in the kitchen making our omelets, while I was with the kids and so extremely tired I could barely keep my eyes open. After Sammy was done, I cleaned him up and dressed him and put him to bed. It was 12:35. Then I cleaned up and dressed Emmy and put him to bed, while Randy did the same with Tammy. It was 12:45. Sammy was already asleep. I sat down by Emmy and was just so very tired I wanted to sleep. However, Emmy just would not go to sleep but kept messing around. I finally asked him if he wanted Daddy, and he said yes. I decided to switch places with Randy. I walked away to get him, but first went to the kitchen and started doing dishes. I wanted to see whether he was calling for his Daddy, and he never did. Instead it got quiet. I finally checked on him, and he was asleep. It was 1:25 pm. And so I called downstairs for them to come up. Nothing happened, and so I went downstairs. I found Randy sleeping and Tammy happily playing by herself. I woke up Randy, and we all went upstairs. Randy continued on our omelets, while I sat down by Tammy by her request. It was 1:30. After ten minutes she was asleep.
I grabbed my omelet and sat down to eat. It gave me some energy and made me less tired, and so I was able to start working on my computer. At 2:25 Emmy walked into the room. He lay then sat down on me for 10 minutes and talked to me, then he left to find Daddy and go downstairs with him. I continued working. At 3:20 Tammy started stirring and Sammy woke up, when I adjusted his blankets. They both came out of bed, I grabbed some snacks and took them downstairs. Then I returned upstairs, hoping I'd have some time to work before they'd call me to come downstairs. Emmy cried one time and asked for a pacifier, but other than that I heard laughing all the time. I was very surprised I never had to go downstairs, as that usually only happens when Sonja is here. And so I worked until 5:15, when I went to the kitchen to start making their dinner.
As I was finishing up, I could already hear drama downstairs and knew I just needed to go. The kids had been very active, and Tammy was just getting hurt by her brother, when I arrived. I comforted her, and then it was tidying up time. Emmy refused to, but Tammy helped, and so I got a coin out of Emmy's piggy bank, while Tammy received a coin. After everything was tidy, we went upstairs to eat. We sat down at the table, and Tammy and Emmy did the traditional egg pecking. This time Emmy won, but we peeled both eggs. Tammy insisted on doing it all by herself. They all ate some, and then left to go to the bathtub. I combined their food in bowls that I took to the bathtub, where they were having fun as well as eating more. They're doing a lot of role-playing now. Tammy and Emmy were the captains of their boat, and we played showing tickets and going fast and opening doors etc. Then they came out one after another, and we got them ready for bed. Not long after 7 pm they were all in bed, and I sat down by them.
Tammy lay down on my chest, as always, and then the talking started. They were still talking about how there was no face-painting today - a great disappointment. I told them we could get our own and do it at home, which excited them. Emmy also still talked about having been scared of the Easter bunny (on Saturday). After a while Tammy went to bed, and I started singing to calm them down and make them stop talking, which doesn't always work. As Sammy had slept really long today, he was wide-awake. His behavior made me think he wanted me to pick him up and hold him, and so I did. Emmy was immediately jealous and upset and tried to take Sammy's place. After I put Sammy to bed, he wanted me to rock him, and I did. Just before it was 8 pm, I asked Randy to take my place, and I had to talk Tammy into it. She was the closest to falling asleep. She wasn't happy, and I had to return to comfort her. But then I was finally able to leave for good. Soon they were all asleep, including Randy.
I sat down at the computer to work, and once I started getting hungry, I got some food in the kitchen, ate, then continued working. I'm behind on everything, so I've been trying to catch up.
