Day 986. Last night I went to bed at 1:30 am. I had to move Emmy back to his own bed as he was sleeping in my spot. He had wanted me to sit by his bed and wouldn't let me leave. He finally agreed to sleep in my bed and wait for me to go to bed. In the early morning hours Tammy and then Emmy joined us. By 7:45 they were up and running, and half an hour later we all got up. I made breakfast, and we sat down at the table to eat. There were flowers, chocolate and a drawing the kids had made on the table. Then Randy sang "Happy Mother's Day" with them to the melody of Happy Birthday. How sweet! After breakfast, we cleaned them up and dressed them. Then I took them downstairs and read a Bible story with them. And I finally cut their fingernails like I had been wanting to do for a while. Then I went up upstairs to work.

It was already 9:30, when I turned to computer on. At 10 am I went to the kitchen to make the casserole that needed to bake in the oven for an hour. By 10:45 I had it in the oven and returned to my computer. At noon they all came upstairs to eat. It was my favorite dish, but for some reason nobody ate much today. They all had pudding, then Tammy and Emmy went potty. We cleaned them up and dressed them, and by 12:45 the boys were in bed. Tammy was crying and saying she was tired, and so I put her to bed as well. But I should have know that was not gonna work.

She was tired and would have fallen asleep fast, but Sammy was wide awake and very active, and he's always seeking out his sister who is right next to him, keeping her and himself up. At 1 pm I tried to walk away, but then Emmy opened his eyes up again, and Tammy was up again as well, and I had to return. I had to sit with them until 1:35 before they were all asleep and I could walk away.

I returned to work, but by 2 pm I was so tired I had to close my eyes. Only 5 minutes later Emmy walked into the room. I picked him up, but he wanted to go downstairs with Daddy, and so they did. I closed my eyes again. At 3 pm I woke up by myself, and only seconds later I heard Sammy. I picked him up and took him downstairs, then returned to my computer to work. However, it was high time to make their dinner-to-go and get ready for church, which I only started at 3:25. A few minutes later Tammy woke up from the noise Emmy was making downstairs, and I let her take three squeezies and go downstairs to her siblings for a few minutes, before they all came back upstairs. We dressed them and got everything ready and left just after 4 pm.

We made our train easily. All five of us sat down by a table, then we put them back into the stroller before reaching our stop. We then walked to the tram stop and got on the tram. There was no room for them to get out with all the seats taken, and Sammy started crying, which he often does when Mommy and his siblings disappear. After we got off the tram, I got him out of his stroller and added him to mine, so that I had all three in my stroller. Sammy was really happy, but now I had to push three up the hill, when pushing two was already hard enough.

We got to the church a few minutes before the service started and walked to our usual spot in the front. The kids went straight to the front and got the streamers they like so much. Emmy sat on the steps for quite a while as usual, while Tammy was more active using the streamers. Sammy also enjoyed waving it around. I put him on the floor one time, and he pulled himself into a sitting position by the steps, then tried to climb up higher, which he cannot do without help, as the steps are too high for that. Tammy and Emmy were standing on the steps by the middle section for a while, and then Emmy even went up to the stage. A lady was dancing with some fabric up there and ended up giving Emmy one. They both soon stepped off the stage.

Then I asked where Emmy was and found out that he had walked to the other side of the stage to find Sonja who was over there. Tammy then wanted to go there too, and we walked over there together. Emmy started playing, and then they both tried to go up the ramp to the stage. I decided it was time to go back to our side of the sanctuary and upstairs to the toddler room.

I go their dinner boxes, and Randy and Sammy joined us, and together we went upstairs to the toddler room, where we were the first ones. We took their shoes off, and they immediately started playing. Randy returned to the sanctuary. I sat down on a beanie bag and watched them play. Tammy brought me some books to read to her, then Emmy started getting the rails and train out and putting it all together, and Tammy joined him. They each had their own track, and I helped them close the circle. Sammy was playing with a doll and a stroller, then he crawled to the steps to the slide and tried again to climb up. I helped him walk up, and then he slid down the slide. The other two needed me to help with the train tracks, and so another Mom helped Sammy get on his feet by the workbench, as she saw him wanting to get up there.

And then the program started. We did the initial song, but the kids were still busy arriving and had toys in their hands. Then we did the individual greeting song for each child, and the hand puppet sheep kissed each child. Then the Mom teaching today started teaching and did a great job. I have rarely seen them listen so attentively, and the room being so quiet. It was all about sharing, and she got some sweet bread out, broke a piece off and handed it to the kid next to her who broke a piece off and then passed it on. Then all the kids ate the bread. In the end the teacher had even two pieces in her hand, when she had started with one.

Then it was time for crafts. There were hearts cut out of paper, and she painted their hands that they then put on the paper, therefore putting a handprint on it. Then they covered empty toilet paper rolls with colored paper and put the heart in there. A Mother's Day gift for me!

The kids were all eating a little bit in between playing. Tammy joined a Dad and his daughter who were reading a story. I had to call her away from there so we could put her shoes on, and then we all left to go back downstairs. They were waiting to see Anna on the bottom of the stairs, but there was no Anna. And so they were calling for Sonja. They both ran to the front of the church and went on the steps to the stage. The pastor was still preaching, and so I got them away from there, and we went to the back where the strollers were, even though they were not happy. I put them into the strollers, and we started walking to the exit. We don't usually leave this quickly, but it was the best thing to do.

It was still warm, so they didn't need their jackets. We took the tram, and they wanted to watch Kasperl on the phone. When we reached the train platform, we had 5 minutes to wait, so that was great. I had their dinner boxes out, and they continued watching, then continued on the train. It was 7:45 pm, when we got back home.

They were cranky and tired, and I just started taking their clothes off. They wanted some cake and went potty, and we washed them and got them ready for bed. By 8:10 they were all in bed, and I sat down by them.

Tammy wanted me to rock her, but she didn't stay long. I had to sit with them until 8:45 pm before they were asleep and I could walk away. I went downstairs and turned my computer on. I had ordered our food for 9 pm today to make sure they were asleep and we could eat it before it got cold. I arrived just before 9 pm, and Randy came downstairs with it so we could eat together. I found a romantic comedy for us to watch while eating. Half-way through the movie we were done and paused the video until next week. It was time to go to work. I had plenty of pictures to go through, and that took time. At 12:30 am Emmy came to the top of the stairs and called me. Randy had already gone to bed. I went upstairs, gave him the milk he wanted, then convinced him to go lie down in my bed and wait for me there. Now it's 1:30 and time for me to go to bed myself.
