HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 980. Last night I went to bed at 12:45 am. Tammy joined us in bed at some point, and Emmy also came in the morning. Emmy woke up a little after 7 am, and a little while later Tammy woke up as well, and they got up. At 7:30 I also got up and went to the kitchen to empty the dishwasher.
Then a lawn mower started making lots of noise right outside our apartment. Now that it's warm, I opened up the balcony door, and Tammy and Emmy went outside to look and watch the guy mowing the lawn underneath us. They ended up on the trampolin, where they could see well and had fun jumping. In the meantime I got breakfast ready, and then had a hard time getting them back inside.
Sammy would not eat this morning. After breakfast, we cleaned them up and dressed them. At 8:45 I left the house with Sammy. Tammy wanted to come as well, but today she didn't cry, when I told her she couldn't. Sammy and I took the subway for two stops, then we had quite a walk ahead of us. We got to the center nearly 15 minutes early. I had to show my recovered-from-Covid status, and then we were let inside, where we still had to wait a little bit. Sammy and I were looking at the fish and birds together, then the doctor called us in.
Every half year the center's doctor sees Sammy to evaluate him. She'd made a very negative impression on me, when I first met her, and that is hard to overcome. Today the meeting was very positive, and she was kind and friendly. Sammy is always a little suspicious at first, but it didn't last at all. We sat down on the floor, where she gave him some toys to play with. She asked questions, and looked at Sammy, interacted with him, and she looked at his legs. She said he was strong, when she held his hands to walk with him. She said he would walk when grown up but would always need some tool to help him with that. She said she wanted another MRI since he hadn't had one since just after his birth to look at the effected brain region, what it looks like now. She also said that it was time for Sammy's first psychological evaluation, which is four sessions. She told me about the possibility for him to go to a rehabilitation center for a few weeks, where he'd have therapies all day every day and said that such an intensive few weeks would really be good for him. She said that it's possible that all five of us could stay there, which is the only way it would work. After 45 minutes the session was over, and we said our goodbyes.
We left at 10 am to walk back to the subway. Sammy was once again standing in the stroller, facing me. There was lots of greenery around, and he grabbed a leaf one time, when we stopped. He was in a really good mood today, and did lots of smiling and laughing. We were having a good time together. We took the subway and got home at 10:15. I took Sammy downstairs to the others, gave Randy a quick report, and went upstairs to still work some before lunch. Thankfully I just had the soup to warm up for lunch today.
I went to the kitchen at 11:45 to get everything ready. A few minutes later they came upstairs to eat. They all sat down at the table to eat, while I was finishing up in the kitchen. Before I could sit down, Emmy had made quite a mess, once again, pouring out his food and spreading it around. He's the one making a mess nearly every day, and it's annoying. They all had pudding, then it was time to clean them up and dress them again and put them to bed. By 12:40 the boys were in bed and fell asleep fast. Just after 12:50 I was able to walk away and return to my computer to work. Randy came upstairs with Tammy early, at 1:05, and so I sat down with her, upon her request. By 1:20 she was asleep and I returned to work. At 2 pm sharp Emmy walked into the room. You can set your clock after him! He lay down with me for a few minutes, then wanted to go downstairs with Daddy. I continued working until 2:50, when Sammy woke up. I picked him up and took him downstairs, and that was enough for Tammy to wake up. Instead of going downstairs, Randy decided they'd all come upstairs. I opened the balcony door for them so they could have fun out there, especially with the trampolin, and picked out the clothes for them wear for exercise class. They were having some snacks as well. Just after 3:30 pm we left the house.
Today was the warmest day yet, and it was nice to leave the house without a jacket and short-sleeved for the first time. We took the subway to the end and then walked to the school, where we arrived a few minutes before the class was to start at 4 pm. It's the class with the most children we've ever been in. The teacher started with a greeting song, going from kid to kid and greeting them with a cat hand puppet. Then we did a song, where we walk/run in a circle and do different hand and feet movements from time to time. Tammy and Emmy participated. Then the teacher handed out hoops. The parents put them around their children who were now horses and ran through the room. I had Emmy, the teacher Tammy, and Randy Sammy. Then she had them sit on the ground and pulled them, then lay on their bellies and pull them. I ran as fast as possible with Emmy, making him laugh. And Sammy was able to do it as well!
Then she put all the hoops in a row and had them walk through, then take huge steps to walk through, then walk sidewards and then backwards through them. Emmy was a little busy with balls and didn't do it all. I had Sammy and was sitting on a bench with him, playing with him there.
Then she got the big balls out that they enjoy so much. They had to push them, catch them, hit on them, then jump on them, and in the end she put a few in a row between benches, with Emmy and Tammy as her helpers. They then walked across the balls and jumped onto a trampolin, then walked on unsteady pillows. She then set up the big mat after that, and this time on a stepper, so that it moved up and down. She also got another seesaw out, and Tammy and Emmy were the first ones on it again. The lady also got the board with wheels out, and eventually Sammy ended up on it on his belly, and Randy pulled him through the room. Sammy also tried to use his arms to move himself on the board, but it didn't work very well.
The teacher put two benches behind each other and got cones and balls out. Each kid got a cone, put a ball in it, and walked across the beam, then threw the ball into a box. Tammy loved doing it and did it several times. Emmy not so much and wasn't keen on standing in line. He ended up with another kid and his Mom, stacking these different colored objects and making a tower.
The teacher put the box on the rolling board again, and Tammy was in it right away. Emmy got in too, and Sammy wanted in too, and so I took Emmy out to put Sammy in and was gonna put him back in after, but he threw a fit. He slapped me in the face hard. He had never hit me like that before. Just minutes earlier he had slapped Randy's glasses off his face. I talked to him, while he was crying, and he apologized pretty quickly. He wanted me to hold him, and so I picked him up. He must have been pretty tired, as you can see in the picture I took of the mirror. In the meantime Randy pushed Tammy and Sammy around the room, and then another kid got in instead of Sammy, and his Dad pushed them.
Suddenly Emmy wanted out of my arms, and I was wondering what was going on. The teacher had brought the box of drums and rattles out, and Emmy loves drums. He was quick enough to get the biggest drum, got some sticks, and immediately started drumming hard, and so did Tammy. I gave Sammy a rattle. The teacher started the goodbye song that they were to drum to, then she waved goodbye to everyone. The class was over. Cranky and tired Emmy asked me, whether we were now going to the dance class, as we had done the music class right after this one for weeks. I told him that we were going home. We put their shoes back on, put them into the strollers and left.
Walking back to the subway, they were already asking to watch Peppa Pig. I let them when they're as tired as that. The subway was already waiting for everyone to get on, so we did, and then I started the video. They were unhappy, when I stopped it, when we got off. Tammy even threw a fit for a while, while we were walking back to our apartment building. They kept saying that they wanted to continue watching. At 5:20 we were back home.
I said they could watch under the condition that they were not gonna cry, when we'd stop the video, and that they'd both be tidying up with me. They agreed it. I went downstairs with them, put them into my chair, and turned the video on. Randy was playing with Sammy. Then I went upstairs to make dinner for everyone.
It took me until about 6 pm. Someone happened that stopped their video, and so I could hear how upset they were downstairs. As I was nearly done with the food, and given the time, I went downstairs, opened the gate, and let them come upstairs to eat. I took their clothes off, and they sat down at the table. Sammy really likes eggs, so I gave him half a hard-boiled egg, then Emmy wanted one, so I gave him the other half, even though I didn't think he'd eat it. Tammy then wanted one too and started throwing a fit, so I gave her half an egg that she ate, and gave Sammy the other half. It wasn't long before Tammy got up to go potty. Both Tammy and Emmy were successful on the potty, then went into the bathtub. I put the rest of their food into bowls and took them there. They ate quite a bit more, then came out one after another, and by 7:25 they were all in bed.
I sat down by them, extremely tired myself, but unfortunately it was another one of those nights, when it took forever and involved some drama, before they'd fall asleep. It was 8:20 before I was able to walk away an d star tthe long process of making my food, which meant it was pretty late before I was done eating, and still had lots of work to do before going to bed. Now it's way after midnight, and I've been falling asleep while writing for a while, which drags this on even more. Time for bed!
