Day 1023. When I went to bed last night, Emmy was sleeping in my spot, as he had finally walked away from the stairs to lie down by Daddy. I moved him to his bed and went to bed myself. It was pretty late. Both Tammy and Emmy joined me in bed at different times. Emmy got back up and went back to his bed. It was Tammy next to me, when I woke up. And it was already close to 9 am, so rather late.

After breakfast we read a Bible story, and then I went upstairs to work. It was already 10 am, when I got started. At noon they came upstairs to eat, then went to bed. It was 12:45. Sammy was asleep first, then Tammy, and it took Emmy until nearly 1:30 to fall asleep. At 2 pm Sonja arrived - the first time in weeks - and the doorbell woke up Tammy and Sammy. At 2:30 we all left the house together.

They were excited to see Sonja again, especially Emmy. We took the subway for two stops, then had a long walk to Sammy's center. It gave me an opportunity to catch up with Sonja. We got to the center early, but they let us in. That is Randy, Sammy and I went inside, while Sonja stayed outside with Tammy and Emmy and played with them. They made us wait for a long time, which made me a little antsy, as we had dance class at 4 pm. The neurologist for children only comes to the center twice a year, which is why we had no choice of when the appointment was. They finally called us in, and the doctor started explaining the botox treatment for spasticity. Then he wanted to see Sammy crawl, and he watched his hands as well as looked at his legs more closely. He said that the treatment would be very beneficial for Sammy, reducing the tension in his limbs, allowing him to move more freely and teach his muscles more movements. He also said it would allow his hands to work better. Everything he said was very convincing. They have a lot of experience, having done this for decades, and are going to contact me to make an appointment for Sammy's first treatment. They're going to put him under for it, as they'll be injecting his legs.

It was already 3:45, when we left the center, so a lot later than expected. Tammy and Emmy were having fun with Sonja outside the center. Together we walked back to the subway and got on to go to dance school. After we got off, I called the school to make sure other kids were there and the class taking place. It was rush hour, but we crammed into the bus, then walked, and got to the dance class to be part of the last 20 minutes at least. Tammy and especially Emmy were very tired, and therefore not participating very well, but all three still had fun, and I'm glad we got to go having missed the past two weeks.

We were walking to the bus stop and went into the grocery store on the way, as I needed some stuff to cook.

When we got to the bus, it was so full that it was impossible to get on. As it said the next bus was only coming in 12 minutes, we decided to walk to the subway. On the way we found a playground, and the kids wanted to go play a little. And so we said good-bye to Sonja who went home, while we went on the playground for a little bit. There was a high slide, and Tammy climbed up sovereignly, no help needed. Emmy was a little fearful at first, but then did it too. We didn't stay long, as it was getting late, but made our way home.

It was already 6:10, when we got home. They were tired and cranky. We stayed upstairs, and I quickly gave them some food. They didn't eat much, ate some fruit in the bathtub, and by 7:15 they were in bed. I thought they'd be falling asleep quickly, given how tired they were, but that was not the case for some reason. Sammy was even crying, and he only calmed down after Randy held him for a few minutes. Tammy fell asleep next, but Emmy, who had been the most tired, was still awake at 8 pm. I had to go get some food, and Randy took my place. Later in the evening Tammy kept calling me for a while, and I had to sit by her bed with my computer to work there. Eventually she fell back asleep, and I could leave again. Time just flew by, so that it is already after midnight now.
