HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1028. They were up early once again, and once again got into mischief opening up a bag of gummy bears and eating some of them. After breakfast, we read a Bible story, then I got the keyboard out and spent a few minutes worshipping God, before I put the piano on the floor so that all three could play around on it. I left them with Randy and went upstairs to work.
I enjoyed getting to work until just before noon, then warmed up yesterday's leftovers, and together we ate nearly all of it. Sammy has been eating well, and was a great eater today. They all had icecream, I cleaned them up and dressed them, and then it was I who went downstairs with them for an hour. Yesterday I had done that hour because Randy wasn't feeling well, and today he thought it was a good idea for me to do it again.
We had lots of fun together. All three got to go into the swing, which they don't get to do much with Randy. Tammy got to draw and look at photobooks and had me read a book to her. Sammy was sitting on his seat by the couch pushing buttons on sound books, making all kinds of sounds, and Emmy was just having fun. The hour went by fast. At 1:30 we went upstairs so they could lie down for their nap, and they fell asleep fast.
I was working, even though I was tired. Sammy was up first, then Emmy. They went downstairs with Randy, while I needed to make their dinner-to-go. Then I turned the ocean waves off, which was enough to get Tammy to wake up. At 3:30 the boys came upstairs, and we all got ready to leave and left on time at 4 pm.
It was a very hot day today, more like a day in August than June. We got to church just before the service started and saw both Sonja and Franziska right away in the lobby. Then we went to the front of the sanctuary, where the kids immediately went to the fabric and streamers. We stayed for the first half hour. Tammy used the streamer some, and gathered up the fabric and laid it out on the floor. Sammy wanted to see what was behind the curtain on the stage, which was fun for him. Emmy once again sat on the stairs and just watched for most of the time. After about half an hour they've had enough and ask to go upstairs to the toddler room.
When we got there, there were already several other kids in the room. We've now started taking turns on who stays and who returns to the sanctuary, and it was my second time going to the sanctuary. I greatly enjoyed the second half of worship and everything that came after. At 6:45 I had to get up to go upstairs, even though I would have rather stayed.
The kids were all playing, when I got upstairs, and they were excited to see me. Tammy came running to me with a book in hand, and we sat down to read it and two more. Then the closing song started, so it was time to put all the books up. Then we put their shoes on and went downstairs.
They were all excited to see Anna, and we sat down by her for a few minutes, but Tammy and Emmy could not sit still. The pastor was still preaching. Emmy wanted to find Sonja, and so we started walking to that side of the sanctuary, but we could not find her. So we decided to go home, as the service was still not over.
We walked to the tram station, and as we had just missed a tram and it said 17 minutes to the next one, we hopped on the tram going the opposite direction, then took the subway, and a second subway. The kids finished eating their food while watching Peppa Pig. It was about 8:20 before we were home, later than if we had taken the 8 pm train.
We got them ready for bed, and I sat down by them. They fell asleep relatively quickly tonight. Just after 9 pm our food arrived, and we went downstairs to eat and watch a movie. Then I returned to my computer to work the rest of the evening.
