HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1036. It was tough, when the alarm went off at 7 am. It also woke up the kids. After breakfast, we dressed them and left the house at 8 am. We took the train. It was really full, but I still got them out and had all three. After we got off, we had to take a unique train/tram that exists only once in Vienna. It has stairs like the old trams, which is why we took the double-stroller today, as it is narrower. We were able to get that stroller onto the train, though it was quite a challenge, both ways, to get the strollers in, as they barely fit through the doors. After we got off, we had quite a long walk to get to the dentist's office.
It was my fourth and last root canal session, and the kids' first time to go inside. They enjoyed the children's books in the waiting room, even crayons and paper were there. We waited for a while, then we were called inside. Tammy was extremely tired and did not want to go inside, screaming and trying to pull away. We finally made it to the room, where I sat down on the patient's chair, and Tammy and Emmy shared a chair, while Randy stood with Sammy. And then we waited. They were a little apprehensive. Once the dentist came he thought that it was smarter for them to wait outside, and so Randy returned to the waiting room with them. After I was done, they returned. I asked them whether they wanted to sit on the patient's chair. They said no, but together with me Emmy and Tammy sat on the chair. When the doctor came, he looked at their teeth, then asked them to close their mouths. Tammy was fine, but I saw Emmy's problem right away, as he was on my lap The front teeth were not touching, thanks to the pacifier he has in his mouth much of the time. I was shocked how big the gap was. Sammy also had a gap. The dentist said they needed to stop using the pacifier, unless they really needed it.
We left and went to the receptionist, where I got another appointment for a checkup. And then she let them choose a gift from a box.
We left to walk back to the train station, and after we got off, we went to the playground right there. They were excited. Even though it was another metal slide in the sun that was hot, they still went down the slide. There was also a cylinder that turned, and Emmy turned the boy standing on it, then Tammy also helped with that. And I turned it with both of them standing on it. Sammy and Tammy both got to go in the baby swing. While Tammy was in it, Randy showed the boys the bees by the flowers.
At 11 am we took the elevator down to go to the platform our train was leaving from. Especially Tammy, who was extremely tired, was crying hard, when we left. I put Emmy on my shoulders to calm him down. On the way to the platform we passed by a bakery, and so I bought some pastries to hold them over until lunch. Then we went to the platform, where we still had to wait a while for our train. Just before noon we were back home.
The kids were really tired, and I Iet them finish the Paw Patrol episode, while making a quick lunch. They had some food, but no icecream. I cleaned them up, dressed them, and put them straight to bed. It was 12:30, an hour earlier than usual. And by 12:45 they were all asleep.
I was so tired myself I could/should have slept, but I started working instead, not having had the morning to do so. I was surprised, when Emmy was already up after an hour, and even more so, when Tammy got up a few minutes later. Randy was sleeping on the chair in the kitchen. Emmy did not want to go back to sleep, even with me, and after some time, Randy went downstairs with them. Then Sammy also woke up from the noise and went downstairs as well. I continued working, but had to leave the house at 2:45 pm.
I took the subway to get to another doctor's appointment. It was just after 3 pm, when I sat down in the waiting room. And then I waited, and waited, and waited. People who came after me left before me. After 45 minutes I went to the desk and let them know that I'd been waiting for a long time. It turned out that I was not on the waiting list for some reason. Great! They promised me I was next, but still one person after another was called in but not me. After an hour they finally called my name. I had a mammogram and was told everything was perfect. I got my pictures and could finally leave to go home.
I got home at 4:30 pm. That didn't give me much time to work, less than an hour. I've been wanting to push dinner time to half an hour later, as it takes them so long to fall asleep, but Randy said they were hungry. And so they ate at 6 pm again. They ate well at the table, and finished their food in the bathtub. Around 7 pm they were all bed. And once again I had to stay with them for over an hour, until about 8:15, before they were all asleep. That's just too long, which is why I'd like to put them to bed later. I got myself something to eat, and then went back to work, working until late.
