Day 1058. It was a typical morning today. After lunch they needed to go to bed right away, as we wanted to leave the house as early as possible. However, when it matters is when they don't fall asleep right away. They were giving me a really hard time, and Tammy was the last one to fall asleep, with 1:30 already approaching. Thankfully I got some sleep for a change, and really needed it. I had set my alarm, and at 2:30 I opened their curtains for them to wake up. They slowly got up, we dressed them, and left the house just before 3 pm.

It was a long one-hour trip across town to get my friend's house. We hadn't seen her in months, so I was glad that it had finally worked out again. Emmy was on the tricycle, Tammy was walking, and Sammy was in the stroller. We rode the subway to the end, then got on the tram and rode it to the end as well. Sammy was getting pretty cranky, and then a lady distracted him a little and fanned him some air. It was pretty hot in the tram, especially sitting in the sun.

We got to our friend's house just before 4 pm. And then the fun started, lasting for 3 hours. Our friend has a son that is a year older than them who they played with a little bit. Of course it was the many new toys that really excited them. Emmy was really excited about the drum set, while Sammy loved the piano. He only discovered the play kitchen at the very end, and was upset when Randy pulled him away as we were leaving.

Tammy loves water and was the first one in the kiddie pool, and then her brother followed her there. Sammy also spent some time in it, but the water was pretty cold. They also had a sand box that they enjoyed, especially Tammy. And of course the climbing construct was a lot of fun. When we had last been there a year ago, they'd had a hard time getting up there, but today it was a piece of cake.

They also had a cat, but every time they'd come close to pet it, it would walk away. One time Sammy got to pet it, though he was a little fearful. Emmy wouldn't even get close to it and would not touch it, while Tammy petted it.

As for us adults, we tried to talk with each other in between our interactions with the kids, which did not allow for that much conversation really.

Once they were done playing with water and sand, we took them to the bathtub to rinse them off and dress them and then rejoined our friends. They played with a few more toys, had some bread and cheese and then it was time to say our good-byes. It was 7 pm after all. This time Emmy was on my shoulders and Tammy riding the bike. We got on the tram, and of course they were watching Peppa Pig all the way home, where we arrived at 8 pm.

We got them ready for bed, and by 8:30 they were all in bed. It took a little time, with Tammy being the last one to fall asleep, and I think it was about 9:30 before I was able to walk away and get something to eat. After eating, I started working on the many pictures today, and as it took some time, it's later than what I'd like as I go to sleep.
