HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1059. Sometimes it takes me a long time to fall asleep, and last night was like that. I set my alarm for 8 am, but they were up an hour before that. At 8 I crawled out of bed, as the Mobile Support lady was coming at 9. She then called me to let me know she'd be 15 minutes late. And as it was not 9 am yet, I took the kids downstairs, where they saw the new books our friend had given them yesterday and were eager to look at them. Sammy stayed by the stairs to wait for the lady and was excited to see her once she arrived. She went downstairs to play with the kids for 90 minutes, while I went to work preparing for classes. I had a student scheduled for 8 pm, but she moved the lesson to tomorrow night.
Just after 11:15 I went to the kitchen to make lunch, and at noon we sat down to eat. It was a struggle again to get them to eat, then they all had icecream. After cleaning them up, we went downstairs, where Sammy wanted to play the piano, while the other two wanted to do the Peppa Pig sticker book. Of course they wanted to swing too. We went upstairs earlier than usual, at 1:15, and they were asleep within minutes.
I returned to my computer and ended up working, even though I wanted to sleep. I finally did set a 20 minute timer to close my eyes, but before I couldf all asleep Emmy walked into the room and asked for milk. It was 2:30 pm. Then Tammy woke up, and then Randy got Sammy. We got ready to leave and left early, a good number of minutes before 3 pm.
I decided to try to take the tram today, as we didn't have to change lines, like with the bus. On the other hand it was a long walk to the tram, and a long walk after getting off. Sammy was in the stroller, while Emmy was in the tricycle, and Tammy was walking most of the time (or on my shoulders). We were lucky that we had a new tram without stairs both directions today. When we finally arrived at the school, I was surprised that it was already 3:30 pm. I'd thought we were gonna be early today, but you just can't walk as fast with little ones. On top of that, it was 35 degrees today, the hottest date this year so far. This was our third of 4 sessions, and we haven't been on time yet, which is unusual for us.
The teacher had already started with the greeting song and asked who wanted to choose an instrument and be greeted. Emmy and Tammy volunteered right away, and Emmy went first. Tammy came next, and then Sammy. In today's class the kids were not so much into the dances with moves they were supposed to make, especially Emmy. And Tammy did something other than she was supposed to do on purpose. The only times they were excited was when they got to take an instrument. Emmy couldn't wait to get a drum, but then he wasn't fast enough and was crying hard, when all the drums were gone. He cried until one kid returned her drum and he ran to get it.
Sammy did better today, though he again pointed at the sink that he wanted to go there, but Randy didn't do it. Sammy got upset, and so I took him and distracted him and played with him and made him laugh. One time he crawled to the teacher, who was playing the guitar, and touched her guitar with interest.
In the end the teacher handed out paper for them to draw on. Then the class was over, and we left. We walked down the stairs of the school, and the public library was right there. Last week we had gone inside for the first time, and today we returned the books we had borrowed. And the kids wanted to look at books again, so we sat down in the kids' section. Emmy sat on my knee and handed me a book to read to him. Tammy looked at books by herself, and Randy read to Sammy. We stayed until just before 5 pm, so about half an hour. Then we left, this time without books.
Tammy got on the tricycle this time, and once again we had a long walk ahead to get to the tram, and it was extremely hot. Soon she was walking again, and Emmy sat down on the tricycle. He's so much better at steering than his sister. We got on the new tram, and Tammy and Emmy were watching Peppa Pig. After we got off, I had Tammy on my shoulders for a short time, but she mostly walked. When we reached the last apartment complex before ours, they ran to get to the tiny playground there. All they have is two animals on spring to see-saw on, and some stuff to balance across. Emmy wanted me to hold his hand so he could go across, and he did a great job. We didn't stay very long. Sammy's eyes lit up, when we put him on the tricycle, and Tammy's lit up just as much, when she had the opportunity to go into the stroller. Just Emmy wasn't took excited about walking and went on my shoulders. A few minutes later we were home. It was about 5:45 pm. The kids went downstairs, where I turned the German kids' songs on for them, and at 6 pm I started making their dinner. At 6:30 we sat down to eat, then they went into the bathtub, where they ate some more. Today it was 7:50 pm before they were all in bed. I was glad that my 8 pm class had been moved.
I sat down by them, being very tired, and by 8:20 Randy took my place. The boys were probably asleep by then, and the girl close, and so no one protested, praise God. I got myself something to eat, ate, and then went back to work. I'm hoping to be asleep earlier tonight, as I have a 9 am class that I'm teaching tomorrow.
