HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1039. This morning the kids surprised me, when they were already up some time after 6 am. I could not get them to go lie back down. When the alarm rang at 7:45, they were both already right next to me and begging me to get up and give them milk. Tired I got up and gave them milk. We had breakfast, and then we got ready to leave and left on time just after 8:30. Sammy had an appointment for his night braces, and the other two insisted they wanted to come along as well, and so we all went. Even though I soon discovered that Tammy had a fever, and it was obvious that she was not feeling well. She was already much better in the afternoon, though. She was lying down on the floor, and it was so cute, when Sammy crawled to her to give her a kiss and pray for her to get well (picture).
We took the train, and as we were on it for a while, we all sat on seats. Sammy always wants to play with the lid of the trash can, or blinds that slide up and down or the part of the table that folds. After we got off the train, we still had to ride a tram, and then we walked a bit to get to the medical equipment shop. Randy had fixed the wheel on the stroller somewhat, and so he was the one pushing Tammy and Emmy.
We went to the waiting room, where there was a kid's table and chairs, but only a Donald Duck comic book and no other toys. I read one story out of it to them.
The technician came with Sammy's new night braces and fitted them right there in the waiting room, with Tammy and Emmy watching. Tammy was just sitting next to me, not feeling well, anyway. The guy marked where he had to cut material off and left to get it all done. We had to wait another hour for him to finish it. Randy found a walker and tried it out with Sammy, but it was one where he would have to use his arms to hold on to it, with no other help. Emmy grabbed the rolling chair the guy had used and played with it, then found two more in the open room right there. He kept asking, when the man would return. He finally did and put the braces on Sammy's legs. He had them on for a few minutes, then he had a look. He saw some pressure points and left one more time to fix it. Then he finally returned with them, and we could leave to go home. It was 11:30 and we had been there for two hours.
We walked back to the tram that took us to the train. On the train they were watching Peppa Pig, while Sammy was having fun. Around 12:15 we were back home, which was pretty late. Thankfully we had leftovers from yesterday to eat that I quickly warmed up. Tammy went straight to bed instead of eating. The boys ate some and had icecream. That's when Tammy got back up and had some icecream too. Then they all went to bed, somewhere around 12:45, and I didn't even have to sit down by them. They were all pretty tired.
I was gonna take a nap myself, but had to do some stuff first. At 1:45 I finally set myself a 30-minute timer and closed my eyes. Emmy walked into the room before the timer was up, and then Randy already had Sammy in his arms. I got up and stopped the ocean waves, and then Tammy was up too. We got them all ready, and I left first with Tammy and Emmy, at 2:30 pm. Randy and Sammy were also about to leave and caught up with us at the subway, so that we got to ride together. They got off after two stops already, while we went to the end. The kids had their second session of this exercise class.
And they were having lots of fun, especially Emmy. Tammy did better than I thought; it was obvious that she was feeling better, as she participated most of the time. Emmy didn't always participate either, and he likes going against the flow. Like last week, when he was supposed to pick up balls and put them in a box, he threw them instead, even though he was asked repeatedly not to. And he recruited one of the Dads/Granddads, when he needed a hand to hold on to to balance over the colored bricks. He did that several times, as if Emmy was entitled to get the guy's help. Emmy was also the one to get to do the stuff with the teacher, when I had Tammy. And they both loved playing with the balls that were jumping well, and I played throw and catch with Tammy for a while. I was actually impressed how often she was able to catch my ball.
After the class was over, they asked again to go to the playground, but I told them that we still had to stop at the drugstore, and so we took the subway and got off early to go to the store. Marketers know how to sell stuff, as they had put Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig on squeezies and other kids' snacks, so that they obvioulsy wanted me to buy them. I got a few squeezies for them, much to their delight.
By 4:30 pm we were back home, before Randy and Sammy who returned just before 5 pm. I went downstairs with them, where Emmy asked me to get the piano out, while Tammy wanted to look at photobooks. We were doing just that, when the boys returned. Sammy was excited to sit down by the piano. It was so cute, when Emmy put his arm around him and gave him a kiss. Then Sammy also got the guitar and had his hands on both instruments at one point.
Once Randy came I went upstairs; I only had one hour left to do any type of work. At 6 pm I started making their dinner. Randy and the kids were already coming upstairs and ended up going outside on the balcony. At 6:30 they sat down to eat, and everyone ate pretty well, including Tammy. By 7:40 they were in bed.
Sammy had his new night braces on. They had told us to start with two hours on the first night. It wasn't long, when Sammy started saying "aua", and so I finally took them off. The thing is that that word describing pain is his favorite word right now, so he says it frequently and says it every night after going to bed. He continued saying it after I took the braces off. He and Tammy were asleep not long after that, but Emmy was once again not falling asleep. When I left his side at 8:15 and Randy took my place, he started crying. And so I was singing to him from the kitchen, while making my food, and he soon quieted down and fell asleep. I ate my dinner, and then went back to work, working until after midnight.
