HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1081. This morning I found Tammy next to me where Emmy usually sleeps, when I woke up. That was unusual. And I woke up because of Sammy crying. It wasn't long until Emmy joined us in bed and was having fun. Then Randy brought Sammy to us as well. Emmy wanted us to all go under the comforter and create a cave, and so he, Sammy and I were under the comforter, and they enjoyed it. But at 8 am it was time to get up. After breakfast I took them downstairs, where we read a Bible story together. Then Tammy asked to do drawing, and so I gave them all they needed for that. Then I went upstairs.
I went straight to the kitchen to make a casserole and get it into the oven, as I had two lessons from 10 to noon and would not be able to cook otherwise. The 10 am class went well. I was supposed to have a 11 am class with a teenage boy, but he could not make it work for some reason, and so it was another no-show class. So frustrating. With noon approaching, Randy and the kids came upstairs, and then we sat down to eat. Everyone ate and had icecream, then I let them play in the bathtub for a short time before dressing them again. There was no time to go downstairs today. I put them straight to bed at 1 pm and was thankful that they all fell asleep quickly. I returned to my computer to work, even though I was so tired I really wanted to close my eyes, but I never got the chance. At 2 pm I turned the ocean waves off, then I played the "Good Morning" song in their room and got up myself to get ready. They finally got up, I got them and everything ready, and just after 2:15 pm we left the house together - that is Tammy, Emmy and I. Randy had to take Sammy to physiotherapy
It was Sammy's first session with his new physiotherapist as his last one left the center; she'd worked with Sammy for a year. The new one has been doing this for a long time and has a good reputation. They seemed to have a good time together.
Tammy, Emmy and I went to the train platform and got on the 2:30 train - an old one with steps. I just had a tricycle with me that Emmy was sitting on. After we got off the train, we still had to take the bus, then we walked the rest of the way to the school, where their exercise class was taking place. Emmy immediately went to the trampolin, and Tammy also enjoyed it. She went up and down the bench that was used as a slide a few times. Emmy enjoyed playing with the hoop and the cord as well. Tammy was the one who wanted the big ball and jumped on it for quite a long time. The teacher watched and asked whether she ever runs out of energy. Emmy held on to the bars and hang off them, and then I moved his leg up so that he circled the bar. He really enjoyed it, and then Tammy had to do it too.
After some time of enjoying all that was set up, the teacher put the stuff away and we sat down on the mats on the floor. She then did several action songs most of which we do every week. Emmy was really participating, Tammy not so much, though more than usual. After a few action songs, the teacher poured out the big and small balls on the floor, and the kids had to pick them up and put them back into the box. Emmy would always go for the bigger balls and throw them at the box/the teacher. Then we did a few more action songs, and the teacher did some with Emmy. She also pulled him on the mat, while I pulled Tammy. And after the goodbye song, the class was already over.
We had walked by the playground on the way to school and seen that the slide had been fixed and was open again. And as it was not as hot a day than we've had, and it was cloudy, we headed to the playground. Emmy and Tammy kept going up and down the slide over and over again and never did anything else. They so enjoyed it. Even when other kids came and "got in their way" as they also wanted to slide.
After a while I told them it was time to go. Emmy got on the tricycle, and we walked to the bus stop. The bus was just arriving and so we ran the last few meters. We ended up in the last row, where there are three seats and they're higher up. They really enjoyed looking out the back window and kept waving at any motorcycles following the bus, but were disappointed that not one motorcyclist waved back.
We got off the bus and walked to the drugstore, where I got some stuff, then we went to the grocery store nextdoor and bought a few items. Then we walked to the subway to go home. They were watching Bobo on the subway. Tammy cried, when I turned it off as it was time to get off the train. She stayed rather cranky for a while. It was 5 pm, when we got home. Randy had left the key in the door, so that he had to open the door for us. A few minutes later everyone went downstairs, where I turned the video on for them. Then I returned upstairs, but the time was short to do any significant work.
At 6 pm I went to the kitchen to make their dinner, and Randy and the kids already came upstairs. At 6:30 we sat down to eat, then they went into the bathtub, where they ate some more while playing. It was about 8 pm before they were all in bed. I sat down by them, and was surprised at how fast and easily they fell asleep. It was not even 8:30, when I was able to walk away. Tammy was still whimpering protest, but was asleep a few minutes later. I got myself something to eat, then continued working. Now it's after midnight and time to clean up the kitchen before going to bed.
