HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1066. This morning we needed to get up once we saw that it was 8 am. The kids had been up for a while anyway. After breakfast and dressing them, we had not even gone downstairs, when the doorbell rang and the Mobile Support lady arrived. The kids were excited, and they all went downstairs with her. I returned upstairs to work.
At 10:30 the lady, Deborah, came back upstairs to leave. She's actually a fellow believer, and so I finally asked her if we could at least use first names to address each other, even though we can't use the informal way to address each other, as it would not be professional. I was thankful that she agreed. She left and I returned to my computer. At 11 I stopped working and went to the kitchen to get the food ready and put it into the oven. Then I still had some time to work.
Randy and the kids came upstairs before it was noon. I got the food out of the oven, and we all sat down to eat. It was really good, but they've been pretty picky eaters. They all ended up getting icecream. After they were cleaned up and dressed, I went downstairs with them.
I got the "talking stick" out as well as the two new books that had arrived yesterday. I had not had a chance to look at them yet, and it's hard for Randy as it's all in German. Together we had fun looking at the books with the stick. Sammy started fussing, and so I got the piano out for him, which made him happy. At 1:15 we put the books away and went upstairs so they could lie down for their nap. As always Tammy was upset about that.
I sat down by them, and they were soon asleep. I returned to my computer, and after some time of working, I also closed my eyes to sleep. I did set my timer, though, to 30 minutes. It was hard getting up, when it woke me up, but it was time to get ready to leave. I stopped the ocean waves and let the light in, and the kids were up right away. We left the house on time just before 3 pm.
Emmy was on the tricycle, Tammy walking, and Sammy in the stroller. We walked to the bus stop and got on our bus. According to schedule the second bus was coming right after we'd get off the first one, but instead we watched it drive off, and so we had to wait for the second one. And so we arrived once again late to this class - the fourth out of four times. For someone who is never late, that's pretty remarkable. Thank God we are not doing any other classes in that location.
When we walked into the classroom, the teacher had a djembe, just like the ones in Mali, and was doing the greeting song. The kids were excited that we were early enough that they still got to be a part. And so each one of them got to play, while she did the song. And today was their best class there; I guess they've now adjusted to the new teacher and location. Today Emmy participated really well, Tammy a little less, but also pretty well. And Randy did not leave the room with Sammy; instead I took him and cheered him up, so he ended up being happy most of the time as well.
The teacher got a parachute out and had the kids move it up and down to imitate ocean waves. They also got to go under with the parents moving it. And she had them pretend to swim and fly etc, with the djembe in the middle. Kids would go there to play it, and Sammy crawled to it as well, showing us that he wanted to get up there to play it. The teacher handed out instruments during the class several times, and our kids are now good in making sure they get the drums, which they love the most. They are not that good with listening to instructions, like whether to play softly or loudly. They also got to try out some other instruments today. And then the class was already over.
Before we even walked down the stairs to get to the stroller and tricycle, Emmy asked whether we could go to the library to look at books. And so we went inside, sat down by the kids' books, and they started looking at books. It was really hot in there, even though the weather had cooled down a little, and we did not stay too long. In any case I got the message that my 8 pm class was canceled, and so there was no rush to get home.
We started the long walk to the tram stop and rode it home. The kids were watching Peppa Pig on it, and the two kids sitting behind us watched along with them. After we got off, we still had a long walk home, and of course they wanted to stop at the playground just before you get to our house. And today we stayed a little longer, and they had a lot of fun. So far it had always been Emmy who was doing the climbing, but today it was Tammy, and she greatly enjoyed it. She did really well. Randy put Sammy on the climbing construct, and he had him hanging off the rope on top. When Tammy saw that, she wanted to do it as well, and so did Emmy, and they enjoyed it. After a while we told them we needed to leave, which did not make them too happy. Sammy was on the tricycle, while Tammy went into the stroller.
It was 5:45, when we got home. The kids went downstairs, where they watched something, while I went to the computer for a few minutes, but 6 pm came around really quickly. I went to the kitchen and started making dinner. At 6:30 we sat down at the table to eat, then they went into the bathtub, where they continued eating. It was 7:50 by the time they were in bed. I sat down by them, and Tammy was once again the last one to fall asleep. It was 8:30, when I walked away to get something to eat. After eating I went back to work. I have two morning classes, early and one after another tomorrow, and so I had to make sure it's all ready for me to teach. I'm going to be tired, though, as it's already nearly 1 am.
