HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1087. I think this was the first time that I did not write a blog for two days in a row. Now that I teach, I'm even busier than before and have decided not to write a blog, when we're not going anywhere and when I don't have any pictures.
This morning it was the alarm that woke us up at 7:45. Tammy had spent quite some time sleeping next to me until I carried her to her bed, but at that time it was Emmy who was next to me and who was awake right away. In fact, he had come to me with a squeezie to open for him. Tired or not, I had to get up. And today was a day, when I was very tired most of the time and never got to take a nap. Even now it's after midnight, but I've got to write this tonight.
After breakfast I cleaned them up and dressed them, then I had to leave the house at 8:45. At 9 am the Mobile Support lady came after a 3-week break, but I never saw her today. I had a one-hour trip on 3 subways and 1 bus ahead of me, getting me to the dentist's office just after 9:45, which was my appointment. There were no other people in the waiting room, and half an hour later I already left. It was session 3 of the second root canal, plus I had lost a filling a few days earlier that he also replaced. I started my long one-hour journey back home, where I arrived at 11:15. Not knowing when I'd be home, I had set my timer on the oven to cook a lasagna by noon, but even though it was only 11:15, it was nearly done. But it made no difference. Just before noon we sat down to eat, and pretty much all of the lasagna was gone. Pretty soon that lasagna won't be enough for the five of us.
They all had icecream, then I cleaned them up and dressed them. I was so tired that I didn't really want to go downstairs, and they like watching songs or other stuff on the Alexa device, which they ended up doing. I was already trying to do some work for upcoming lessons. Not long after 1 pm I put them to bed. I stayed with them until they were asleep, which did not take that long. Then I returned to my computer to work.
A lady from church has been coming once a week for a few hours, and today was the day this week. She arrived just after 2:30 pm and that little noise was enough to wake up Sammy, which then woke up Emmy. The three of them went downstairs. As the kids hadn't left the house since Sunday, we talked about where they could go without me, as I had a lesson at 4 pm. I started looking at water playgrounds all over the city and found one that looked decent and wasn't that far away. And then my lesson was canceled, which meant I had no more classes today and was free to go with them (even though I did have lessons to prepare). At 3 pm I woke up Tammy who was still sleeping, and at 4:15 we left the house together.
The kids were really excited to go there. As we were three adults, we took both tricycles plus the stroller. We took the subway for a few stops and then had to walk a little bit to get to the park. Once there we took their clothes off and put swim diapers on them, as well as sunscreen. Then we let them go and they ran to where the water was. But the water was coming and going in different intensities. As it was low at that point, they ran to the slide instead and climbed around there. Then they saw the caroussel that Randy made go round and round with them sitting on it. Then it was back to the water.
There were two sections where the water was coming out from below and above. One was a tunnel of rings, and the other had water come out of the ground as well as out of the top of those "flowers". They were all having lots of fun, even with the water being cold, as it was a very hot day (34 Celsius). They pretty much stayed there, running around, laughing. They also discovered the trampolins in the ground right next to there, as well as a "boat" with a wheel, where Emmy could be the captain and steer it. I made quite a few videos that I still have to edit and post.
Sammy was either with me or with Randy. He loves water, but seemed to get cold at some point. Once my back started hurting from keeping him on his feet, I'd hand him over to Randy. After a while it was noticeable that people were leaving, and around 5:30 we decided it was time for us as well. We took the wet diapers off and dressed them. While Randy was taking care of Sammy, Tammy and Emmy started chasing pigeons and having lots of fun doing so. Then we finally left to walk back to the subway, where we said goodbye to the girl. On the subway they wanted to watch videos, of course, and they were both upset, when I stopped the video because we had reached our destination. Just after 6 pm we were back home.
The kids continued watching their video, while I made dinner. At 6:30 we sat down to eat. By this time I was so exhausted that I could barely keep my eyes open. Then they went into the bathtub, where they ate some more, then we got them out and ready for bed.
Just after 7:30 they were all in bed, and I sat down by them. I thought that they'd all fall asleep fast, but it took the boys a little while. As for Tammy, it took her a long time. I didn't even turn my phone on but closed my eyes right away and held Emmy's hand, trying to get some rest before returning to work and preparing my lesson tomorrow morning. I left their side before 8:30, got myself something to eat, and then went back to work. And now I really have to go to sleep.
