Day 1091. It was a tough night last night. Tammy wasn't feeling well, and her body felt rather hot during the night. She woke up frequently and kept waking us up, so that we got little sleep. I've been tired all day.

It was approaching 8:30, when we got up this morning. After breakfast I took them downstairs, where we read a Bible story together. They were then working on the Happy Meal paper stuff they had received, while Sammy wanted to play the piano. I went upstairs to work.

When I got up, I had thought that I was too tired to work, but I ended up working until noon. We had leftovers to eat that I only had to warm up. Everybody ate and then had icecream, then I cleaned them up and dressed them. Randy had let them watch Veggie Tales earlier, and so they wanted to finish what they had started, which is what they did. I'm glad that they're now at an age where they like Veggie Tales, as that was not the case last time I tried to let them watch it. After the episode was over, it was time for them to iie down for their nap, and it did not take them long to fall sleep.

I then returned to my computer, but after a while I closed my eyes to also get a nap in. Sammy woke up first, and he woke up Emmy, who then came to me. Eventually Randy went downstairs with the boys, while Tammy continued sleeping. It was only then I actually got to fall asleep, as it was quiet again. At 3:30 Randy came back upstairs with them and woke up Tammy. I then got up to make their dinner-to-go, then picked their clothes out, we dressed them and got everything ready to leave, which we did at 4:15 pm.

According to the media it was the coldest day of the summer with 20 degrees Celcius, and so we had put jackets on them, though it felt rather pleasant after all the intense heat. We took the train and then the tram and got to church after the service had started. We went to our usual spot to the front, and Sammy wanted to be with me right away. He played with the trash cans, which he enjoys so much, but also with the fabric. Tammy and Emmy had streamers, but also gathered all the fabric together and started laying it out on the floor. When the music picked up speed, Emmy just stood there watching the drummer play.

Time went by fast having arrived late, and so it was already 5:40, when we went upstairs. We were still the first ones in the toddler room. I helped them take their shoes off and then left them there with Randy and returned to the sanctuary. I enjoyed the last few minutes of worship and kept my eyes closed pretty much throughout the whole service, as tired as I was. At 6:45 I went upstairs. Tammy was right by the door, grabbed my hand and led me to the book corner, where she wanted me to read a book to her. And Emmy joined us as well. Right when we were done, the "tidy up" song started, which is the cue that it's the end. A few minutes later we put their shoes on and left to return to the sanctuary.

I was carrying Sammy who kept repeating Anna's name before we even reached the sanctuary. As soon as we were inside, he kept shouting her name, so loud that certainly everyone had heard it. And so Anna came towards us, when we reached the bottom of the stairs, and took Sammy into her arms. Emmy wanted to look for Sonja, and so we walked over to that side of the sanctuary. Instead of Sonja he found Franziska and jumped into her lap. Then Tammy spotted Sonja, and so they went to where she was. Only then did the service end, thank God. Sonja was happy to see them, and they were very happy to see her, and then Randy added Sammy to the mix as well. We then still had some time with Sonja, and Anna as well, before saying our good-byes and leaving.

Thankfully it never rained. We walked to the tram stop, where they started watching Paw Patrol, while waiting, as well as eating their dinner from the box. They continued on the tram, then waiting for the train, and then on the train. By 8:15 pm we were back home. We got them ready for bed, and at around 8:45 they were all in bed. Even though I was pretty hungry, I sat down by them, while Randy got himself something to eat. It was after 9 pm, when I tried to leave to get some food as I was so hungry, but Emmy followed me, and I then let him stand in the kitchen, while I was cutting up my salad. I sat back down by them after a few minutes, and when I left again, Emmy followed me again, watching me cut in the kitchen again. Then Randy finally finished eating and sat down by their beds in my place, so I could finish making my salad and then eat it. Now it's midnight, and after I've cleaned up the kitchen, I'm going to bed. I'm glad that Tammy is fine again, and I hope nobody else gets any cold symptoms. It's their birthday on Thursday, after all, and a busy week for me.
