35 months 29 days

Day 1093. Now we've had three rough nights with this cold affecting everyone to some degree to another. The first night it was Tammy, the next one Sammy and Emmy, and last night Emmy came to me constantly, keeping me from sleeping. In the morning he kept bugging me to get up, while everyone else was still sleeping, and before my alarm went off at 8 am. Both yesterday and today we had to get up early, as I left the house by myself, at 9:15 yesterday and 9 am today. Yesterday I had my 9th and last dentist's visist in the past 2+ months, finishing the second root canal, and today I went to the hairdresser's, finally taking care of my hair in time for the kids' third birthday on Thursday. I wanted to take them with me too, as the boys' hair needs trimming, but it was a cold and wet day, so two hours at the hairdresser's would have been too much for them. When I left at 9 am, they were far from ready anyway.

Both yesterday and today i was not only very tired from the rought nights, but I've had a stuffy nose and sore throat myself, not feeling too great, and not able to get any rest at all. I was teaching 3 hours in a row yesterday afternoon, and two consecutive hours this afternoon. In addition, I have started getting things ready for the big birthday. Right now the first of three cakes is in the oven, and tomorrow I hope to do the decoration. We've also put together everything that needed it. They're already very excited and can't wait for the big day, and so am I. It's just so much fun to watch them looking forward to the big day, especially when you have a husband who cares nothing about gifts.

I've been telling Emmy that there won't be any more pacifiers once they turn 3 years old, so we'll see how that goes, if that is gonna do the trick. Pacifiers are still really important to him, but they've really messed up his teeth.

Yesterday I got home before noon and made a quick meal, today I got home after noon, but Randy had started cooking his famous omelets that he hadn't made in a long time. So it was close to 12:30 before we sat down to eat. Nobody ate very much, except for bacon, and so there was no icecream. Instead of going downstairs, the kids wanted to watch videos, and so they all stood in Emmy's bed watching, while Randy sat down by them. That's the only picture of the day.  Randy then went to the grocery store, while I put the kids to bed for their nap just before 1:30 pm. Once they were asleep, I sat down by my computer and started preparing for my afternoon classes. The plan was for me to lie down and sleep a little, but I never got to do so. Emmy already walked into the room at 2:15, and as Randy was back, he went downstairs with him. Then Sammy woke up, and I took him downstairs. Soon after Tammy also woke up and went downstairs.  I really did not have any time left to sleep, just closed my eyes for 5 minutes. Thankfully I'm so passionate about teaching that it gives me the energy to do it, no matter how I feel. But after I was done, I was pretty exhausted, though yesterday had been worse. However, it was time to make the kids' dinner. At 6:30 they sat down to eat, then they went into the bathtub, and by 7:45 they were all in bed. I sat down by them, but Tammy was giving me an especially hard time. After Randy was done eating, he sat down instead of me, which caused Tammy to cry for me. I returned a few times to cover her up or wipe her nose, as she's asking for those things in German, so that Daddy does not understand it. She finally fell asleep with Daddy sitting there. As for me, I got myself something to eat, ate, then started making cake number 1. Then I decided to write up the last two days. This is a very busy week with their birthday, so I'm trying to make the most of the little time I have.
