Day 1094. Thank God this night was much better, but Emmy and Tammy still came more often than usual and needed milk or such more often than usual. In the morning they were both next to me, Tammy to my left and Emmy to my right, but not for long as they were getting up together. Some time after 8 am I also got up.

After we had eaten breakfast, I started making a casserole right away and put it into the oven to cook. Then I dressed the kids, and at 10 am we all left the house together.

The cold spell was over, and there was no rain, as we were walking a few blocks to get to the hairdresser. Sammy was in the stroller, Emmy on the tricycle and Tammy walking. We had all been there once before, but then only the boys got a haircut. Today it was all three, and so it was Tammy's first haircut ever.

The first thing I noticed was that it was very busy, and the next thing that the boss wasn't there. The boss had done such a great job last time, when Sammy was screaming and the guys were overwhelmed. They told us to go to the room in the back and wait. I figured it would be a while, and it was. Emmy sat down on the chair right away, and Tammy joined him. Sammy was already a little suspicious of everything, but was really excited about the sink and enjoyed playing with it. He also played with a brush. Then a guy we had not met yet came and asked who was first. Emmy immediately said that was him. The hairdresser got a high chair with a wheel out, and I put Emmy into it. The guy demanded a lot more than the boss had done, telling Emmy to hold his head this way or that way, and he did a great job complying.

Another guy came in to cut Sammy's hair. They only had one boy's and one girl's blanket to put around them, and so he put the pink one around Sammy. I was sitting with him on my lap, which was the only way this was gonna work, as Sammy immediately started crying again. And he did the whole time, while that poor, young guy tried to cut his hair. Even though he started later than the guy doing Emmy had done, he finished earlier. I did ask the other guy to cut a little more in the front, which got Sammy started again. His cut hair was everywhere on him and on me, as I tried to comfort him after he was done. But it was worth it, as they're sure all looking good!

After Emmy was done, it was Tammy's turn. She had a little knot in the back, and some trimming did her hair good, and she did a great job doing what he wanted. She did not take long at all as we don't want to have her hair cut short.

We paid and left the place, walking back home. Just before we reached our building, there was the tiny playground, and the kids always want to stop there, and so we did for a few minutes. Tammy and Sammy were sitting on the ground covered with gravel and playing, while Emmy wanted to climb across the hanging bridge/ladder and ropes, with my help, and he did a great job. After a while it was time to continue on home. Sammy went on the tricycle, which he enjoys, while Tammy went into the stroller, which she also loves, and Emmy was walking. We got home just after 11:30. The kids wanted to watch something, and so they did, while I turned my computer on for a few minutes, and then got the food out and on the plates. At noon we sat down to eat.

Even though they usually do well eating this dish, that wasn't really the case today. It was quite a struggle to get them to eat, but in the end they had eaten enough to get icecream. Then they continued watching for a few minutes, what they had started, and just after 1:15 I put them to bed for their nap. By about 1:30 they were asleep, and I was able to leave them and return to my computer to work.

I spent some time preparing my afternoon lessons, but knew I just had to lie down for a nap. I knew it was a risk to not do so right away, as Emmy always wakes up early. It was already 2:15, when I lay down and soon fell asleep. Emmy woke up at 2:30, but thankfully he did not wake me up but went downstairs with Randy. I woke up just after 3 pm and was surprised to find Sammy and Tammy still sleeping. Sammy doesn't usually sleep this long. Just before 3:30 I woke them up and took them downstairs. I left them there with Randy and went upstairs to get ready for my 4 pm lesson. I taught from 4 to 6, then went to the kitchen to make dinner. A few minutes later they all came upstairs. They had been outside, running their bikes and cars for some time, while I was teaching. It was after 6:30 before we sat down to eat. Then they went into the bathtub, where they continued eating while playing, and by 7:40 they were all in bed. I sat down by them, but Tammy is really restless before going to sleep, constantly asking for milk or for me to cover her with her comforter, or to let her hold my hand. Sometimes it can be pretty annoying. After Randy was done eating, he took my place, even though Tammy started crying, as she wanted Mommy to sit there. I still went to the kitchen to get something to eat. After having eaten and done some work on the computer, I went to the kitchen to work on their birthday cake. I had baked two cakes yesterday, and the third this morning. Now it was time to combine them to make one big cake and cover it with fondant. Randy was blowing up some balloons, but can only fill the rest of the balloons with helium just before the party tomorrow. Together we hung up a Paw Patrol "Happy Birthday" sign in their playroom/our living room. After I was done with the cake, I cleaned up the kitchen, which took me until after midnight. Then Randy went to bed, and I started writing my report. Now it's 1 am  and time for me to go to bed before their big day. We have a few balloons upstairs for them to find, when they wake up, as well as their birthday t-shirts. I think I'm as much looking forward to tomorrow as they are.
