HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2149. After having gone to bed way too late last night, it was very hard to get up at 8 am, when my alarm went off. The boys were already up while Tammy was still sleeping. I got up and got ready for my 9 am student and also had breakfast. I then taught until 10 am and had another student from 10 to noon. However, that student never showed up. I ended up doing office work instead, tired or not.
At 12:15 pm we left the house together and drove over half an hour to the Kansas side of Kansas City. I closed my eyes in the car as I was so very tired. We reached our destination just before the agreed-upon time of 1 pm. Tammy and I were approaching the entrance of Chuck E. Cheese when my friend drove up in her car. My other friend was already inside the restaurant. While I had heard a lot about this place, I had never been to one. It's a restaurant for kids; really more of a playground that also has food.
It was very empty so we had plenty of tables to choose from. We ordered two pizzas, and the kids got cards with 20 points each to use on all that was in the room. There was also a trampoline for them to use. They immediately ran off to start doing the rides and had lots of fun.
My friends and I sat down, while Randy was Sammy's hands and feet and was taking him to the rides he wanted. I enjoyed catching up with my friends. It took quite a long time but then the food was finally ready, and we all got to sit down and eat. As soon as they were done eating, they ran off again to keep playing. Emmy was actually counting how many points he was using and choosing more carefully which ride to do. In any case, their 20 points were soon gone, and the trampoline was the only thing left to do for them. They also had a screen on the floor that was reacting to touch, so the kids (including Sammy) were chasing the stars etc. that were coming up. Tammy kept coming to us with pictures from one of the rides, and my friends took pictures of those pictures while I photographed one of them.
Once we were all done and it was time to move on, one of my friends got gift bags out for the kids. They were all eager to find out what was in those Paw Patrol bags. They each got a big, cuddly teddy bear, drinking cup, coloring book, crayons and glowsticks. What wonderful gifts! They were very happy.
Before we left, one of the employees took a picture of all of us, and it turned out really well. Then it was time to leave and to say goodbye.
It was already 4 pm, and Randy wanted to go to Hertz again to get a voucher to get the oil change done that the vehicle dash was telling him to do. Hertz was just around the corner, so we went there. Randy and the kids stayed in the car, while I went inside. I talked to the manager who printed out the voucher for me.
We started our drive back to the house that was now 45 minutes because of rush hour traffic. The kids were watching Peppa Pig on my phone. Before we drove up to the house, we went to the grocery store right there and once again, I went inside by myself while they all stayed in the car.
By 5:30 pm we were back at the house. I was so tired that I lay straight down in bed but I didn't get to lie there for long. Some of the kids were getting hungry, and over the couse of the next 2+ hours they all got something to eat, including Randy and I. Tammy and Emmy were playing with the kids upstairs for some of the time, and Sammy wanted to go upstairs to play with the dog. He then managed to get up the first step, and I helped him get up the rest of the steps. He was really motivated. It would be a big goal for him to achieve to be able to move up stairs.
At 8 pm we went to the bathtub for a shower, then got them ready for bed. I read them a story and prayed for them. It was nearly 9 pm before they were finally in bed and getting quiet.
I started working on the pictures of the day and watching the news. Now it's midnight, and I need to go to bed soon.
