Day 2136. Yesterday morning the kids had breakfast at the house, then we all went to Randy's mother house, where I ate and then sat down at the computer to teach for one after. After that, I continued working on the computer and got some things done. The kids were having fun with their half-sister and nieces. We ate some good food at lunch time, then the kids continued playing, while I continued working. At one point I lay down for a nap. And the kids have been doing piano practice nearly every day, out of their own accord, at least Emmy. The goal is for them to play that last song of the last semester with both hands by the time the new semester starts.

We had leftovers for dinner, then we said our good-byes to Grandma and went to Randy's daughter's house. They played some more while I was packing, then it was bathtub time, story time and bed time. After they were in bed, I turned my computer on. As always, I went to bed too late, though still before midnight, while Randy had gone to bed early.

This morning the kids were up early, as usual, at 6:30. We soon got up, and I finished packing while the kids were eating breakfast. Then I got myself something to eat and sat down at the computer, getting ready for my 9 am student. I taught for an hour, then we packed everything up, said good-bye, and left at 10:15 am.

We had just over 500 km to cover to go to a village west of Little Rock, AR. The kids were on their tablets. We first drove to Memphis, where we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. The kids were enjoying the playground, while I stood in line to order food. Then we sat down to eat and enjoyed the great food. After an hour and a half we continued on our way.

We were going west in direction of our destination, when we ended up in a traffic jam. There had been an accident which made us lose a whole hour because of the slowdown. Sammy actually took a nap in the car, which is unusual. As for Tammy, she was very tired and cranky and had a meltdown, crying and screaming for a long time. She simply refused to take a nap, and there was nothing I could do.

Just after 6:30 pm we finally reached our destination, a house in the woods in a huge gated community. We were going to stay for one night with my Bible School professor from over 20 years ago. I hadn't seen him in over 10 years, so it was great to see him again. He and his wife were  happy to meet the kids. We sat down on the porch and started catching up, while the kids were playing in the garden and the wife was getting dinner ready. Then we sat down for dinner and had a great time eating and talking.

After dinner, the kids showered and got ready for bed. As it was already 9 pm, they went straight to bed. Randy stayed with them, while I rejoined my friends to talk. Randy then fell asleep and never came out again. As for me, I talked until after midnight, then I couldn't go on and had to go straight to bed.
