Day 2080. I did go to bed earlier than usual last night, at 1 am. This morning, there was some drama again which needed my attention. Once Randy was gone with the kids, I went back to sleep. My alarm went off at 9:30 am as I had a 10 am student, but then a first happened. I actually fell asleep again instead of getting up! I woke up at 10:20 am and found my student's message asking where I was. I jumped up and asked her whether we could start at 10:30, and thankfully she said yes.

By 11:20 am I was done and went to the kitchen to make lunch. Randy had just returned from taking away our old washing machine, but I didn't get the food ready before he had to leave at noon to go get Sammy.  Today he returned home faster than usual, already at 12:30 pm. He then ate and left to take the 12:57 pm bus to go pick up Tammy and Emmy. Sammy and I had a good time at home - he was watching videos while I was scanning materials for my student, then he played with the door while I tried to lie down and get some rest.

Randy and the kids made it home earlier than expected. It was only about 2:15 pm. I went downstairs with the kids for piano practice. Back upstairs, I quickly made their dinner sandwiches and gave them to Randy, the kids put their exercise clothes on, and just before 3 pm we left the house together - Tammy, Emmy and I.

We rode our scooters to the subway, took the subway and then the tram, then rode the scooters to the dance school where we arrived on time. The class started at 3:30 pm.

Last week Tammy had participated, and this week she was looking forward to participating again, and she did. And she actually did a great job copying the teacher's movements. Emmy is a little too unruly in this class, together with some other boys.

Tammy was looking forward to practicing a headstand and handstand. It's definitely easier for Emmy who has done it quite often by now, but she also did a decent job. I filmed them doing it. It was already quite late after they were done, so they couldn't stay for freestyle as we had to leave.

We rode our scooters to the tram stop where they enjoyed the little playground while I was watching to see whether the tram was coming. Something must have happened today because it took unusually long, over 10 minutes, before the tram finally arrived. And it was an old one we had to get into with our scooters. After three stops we got off and rode our scooters to the school where the ball-playing class was taking place. It was already 4:40 pm, when we got there, and Randy had already asked where we were. The class had started at 4:30 pm.

The kids took their long pants off and went inside the gym where Randy and Sammy already were, while I turned around and went to the bus stop to go home. By 5:15 pm I was back home, just in time to get ready for m 5:30 pm student who had asked for this extra lesson. Randy and the kids came home earlier than usual, having caught the previous bus. I was still teaching at that time.

I was done at 6:20 pm and went to the kitchen to cut up fruit for them that they then ate. Then they went into the bathtub. After that, they were getting ready for bed. Before we started with the stories, I let them look at schoolbags on the computer as they soon have "schoolbag day" in kindergarten, where they get to present their schoolbags for when school starts in September. It took much longer than expected. Tammy found the one she loved rather quickly, while it took Emmy a very long time and he chose an expensive one.

After the stories and having prayed for them, they went to bed. I then soon went to the kitchen and started the long process of making my salad. Tuesday is normally the only night with no student (though not this week) so that I have more time. That way it was 9:45 pm before I sat down to eat my salad. After having eaten, I started working on the pictures of the day. Now I'm hoping to make it to bed by 1 am  again. Both kids already joined me in bed while I was working there, and Emmy even lay on me with his head. When I go to bed, I'll have to make room to also fit in there. Our bed is not made for four people.
