HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2225. On Wednesday I had a student at 9 am after returning home from taking Sammy to school. As swimming class hasn't started yet, Wednesday is the one afternoon of the week with no class. And so I tried to schedule as many students as possible but only had two, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
On Thursday I also taught from 9 to 10 am. In the afternoon I was able to squeeze in two students from 2:20 to 4:05. That meant that Sammy had to occupy himself for 10 minutes until Randy and the other kids got home at 2:30 pm, and once I was done teaching, I had to grab my stuff, and we headed out the door to make the 4:20 pm train. Randy and Sammy left a few minutes later to take the bus and go to Sammy's wheelchair class.
After the train, we rode the tram for 5 stops and walked to the school where their exercise class was taking place. It was the second session of the semester, and part 2 of 5 of learning to play basketball. I stayed in the locker room while they were playing. They had lots of fun.
By 6:30 pm we were back home, and I cut up their fruit for them. Sammy got home at 7 pm. After they were all in bed, I had another student from 9 to 10 pm.
On Friday I also taught from 9 to 10 am, then had another student from 11 to 12 pm. Randy left before I was done to pick up Tammy and Emmy and take them to their tennis class. When they got there, they found an advertisement with cutouts where the heads were supposed to be so the kids had fun putting their heads through and letting Daddy take a picture.
I picked up Sammy at 12:30 am and got to see the drawing he had made. They had put up all the drawings on the wall in the hallway. We then had some time together at home. At 3 pm we left to catch the 3:20 pm train. After the train, we rode the subway and stayed on the platform to wait for Randy and the kids. They arrived a few minutes later, and we got on the next subway together. I then got off with Tammy and Emmy before Randy and Sammy did. They took the subway to the train and then the train home.
Tammy, Emmy and I walked through the mall to the location where their breakdance class is happening this semester. The door was open this time, so we went straight upstairs. Then they went into the dance studio, while I went to the nearby lounge where they had comfy couches set up. I soon lay down and fell asleep and got to sleep for half an hour. I woke up when two other people walked into the room. At first I was quite disoriented, but it was time to go see the kids' do their solos at the end of the class. However, this time they did battles one-on-one, so always two kids together, alternating with dancing.
At 5 pm the class was over, and we walked back to the subway, rode it to the train, and rode the train home where we arrived around 5:30 pm. I cut up their fruit, then had a student at 6 pm. After I was done at 7 pm, they went into the bathtub and got ready for bed. After a story and a prayer, they went to bed, while I sat down at the computer to teach from 8 to 9 pm.
On Saturday I would have liked to sleep until my alarm went off at 9:30 am but no chance. The kids were loud and kept waking me up. Just before 10 am I left with Tammy and Emmy to take them to their piano class. They had practiced every day of the week, so they were ready. This time there was a new student in class, and she was not on the level of the others, so the teacher had to spend more time with her which slowed down the whole class. The kids never got to play the song they've been practicing and had hoped to play - and that's the case the second week in a row. After the short and easy ones, she did the song with actions with them, and then did story time for the first time. However, it was already late, so the class ended later than it should have.
And that's why it was already noon when we arrived at the McDonald's where Randy and Sammy were waiting for us. I ordered, and we sat down to eat. Randy and Sammy had been at the nearby playground before. I left them there after having eaten as I had to teach at 1 pm. Randy then took them all to that same playground to play for an hour, and they had lots of fun.
When I got home, I sat down at the computer to get ready for my student. I then taught for 3 hours in a row, until 4 pm. I was pretty tired. Then I made the kids' sandwiches and cut up fruit for them. But there was no time to rest. I sat down at the computer again to get ready for my last student at 5 pm. I then taught for only half an hour as the student had to leave early. I was glad to finally have a break.
But I really didn't. We don't practice piano on the day of the class, but there was school work today. They have just completed week 4 of school, and on Friday they came home with a sheet they need to read every day of the week to practice reading. We had already done it on Friday and needed to do it again. It's really hard to read when you first learn it. Emmy is having an easier time than his sister. Then the teacher sent a message that they'll have their first dictation next Friday where they'll have to be able to write the letters they've learned so far.
After having done the reading homework, they got their maths club stuff out and did some exercises in that book for their class on Sunday. Only then was it time for the bathtub and to get ready for bed. I was so glad when they were in bed, and I finally got a break.
Sunday is the day when I look forward to sleeping in but again, the kids are loud and keep waking me up - at least until Randy goes downstairs with them. I had set my alarm for 10:30 am today as I had to cook and get lunch ready by noon. I went straight to the kitchen after waking up. Tammy helped me a little bit to cook the stew, stirring and throwing things into the pot. Then it just had to simmer for a while before we could eat it. So we went downstairs for piano practice and reading practice. I wasn't watching the time and was surprised it was already after noon once we were done. I quickly put their food into their bowls and had them sit down to eat. Just before 12:30 pm Randy left with them to take them to their maths club that started at 1 pm. Sammy hadn't eaten yet in the rush but I had cooled down his food and fed him after the others had left.
Randy returned at 1:30 pm, and I left just before 2 pm to go pick them up again. We returned just before 3 pm. I was so very tired and wanted a break but it seems that I never got a break today. We were so tired that we decided not to go to church but stay at home. The kids played downstairs for a while, then did reading and math exercises on their tablets. I then made their dinner, and they watched videos while eating. At 7 pm it was time for the bathtub, and then for them to get ready for bed. I got myself something to eat, and then finished writing this report about the last week. I'm very tired tonight and hope to make it to bed at a decent time.
