Day 2288. Finally Sunday! A day without teaching and without my alarm going off early in the morning. However, I had to shout a few times to let the kids know they were too loud. Once Randy (who had also gotten up late) took them downstairs, it was finally quiet. When my alarm went off at 11 am, I did not want to get up. Who knows how long I would have slept without it.

But I had to get up to cook lunch. At noon we sat down to eat, then they got ready to leave the house which they did just before 12:30 pm. Sammy and I stayed home. I turned my computer on to get some office work for Mali done which is what I worked on all day whenever I had a chance.

At 1:30 pm Randy returned and soon went downstairs with Sammy to play. At 2 pm I left the house to go pick up Tammy and Emmy. I got to the premises of the maths club just before it ended at 2:30 pm and had the opportunity to watch the last few minutes. They're learning mental arithmetic where every number has a different hand movement. In the end they'll be able to calculate in their heads better than any adult.

After the class ended, they wanted to go to the nearby playground with their friend from the class. Her mother was there so it gave me the opportunity to talk with her while the kids were playing, and we had a great time talking. We continued walking as we slowly made our way to the subway, then got on the subway together. They got off one stop before we did.

Once home, the kids had some icecream, then we went downstairs to do our own little service. I had two little teachings prepared. First, I did the teaching on worship, then we worshiped God together. Next I did a teaching on prayer, then we prayed together. I love the picture of Tammy and Sammy laying hands on Emmy and praying for God to help him and free him of his anger fits.

Then we were done, and it was time for piano practice. Tammy went first and did a great job. Emmy had an anger fit when I asked him to repeat a measure to practice it and stormed off. I had to finish it later with him, and by then he was fine and played the measure several times. He also apologized to me for his fit.

Tammy wanted to practice writing but it's really hard for her and she wasn't able to do it. Emmy, however, wrote the sentence nearly perfectly. Unfortunately I never got the chance to do the sentence with Tammy so that she could also figure out how to write it.

They were getting hungry so I started making their dinner. They had bread with something on it, noodle soup, and Randy makes the boys fried eggs. I also cut up fruit for them. Around 7 pm they went into the bathtub where they ate some more, then it was story time. We enjoyed not having time pressure as I was not teaching at 8 pm. We then prayed, they went to bed, and I went to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. After having eaten, I went back to work.
