HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2400. We had gone to bed at 1:30 am but of course Sammy was up early as usual, thought not quite as early, around 7:30 am. At 8 am Randy decided to get up and take the car back to the rental agency so he left a few minutes later. Sammy was on his tablet while the other two were sleeping on either side of me. Tammy then woke up first at 9 am (which is unusal) while Emmy woke up at 9:15. Tomorrow morning they'll have to get up 3 hours earlier than that! We then all got up, and Randy returned before 10 am and made breakfast for the kids and himself. Tammy and Emmy both went downstairs to play their piano piece one time, and Emmy decided not to play the hard one he had been practicing but the easy one he knows to play as well, just like his sister.
At 10:30 am we all left the house and took the subway downtown, then we walked to their music school. We got there right at 11 am, just as they were opening their doors. It wasn't our first party so the kids knew what to do and started running from room to room to do the games there. They started in the crafts room where Sammy's teacher was in charge. Sammy was impatient to see her again and was very excited when he did. He sat down next to her to do crafts, and she helped him. His siblings soon moved on to the next room. There were only two other rooms, and they had games there. One room had pins that you had to make fall with a ball. The other one had an obstacle course you had to master with an egg on a spoon. It was the only room with candy as a prize so Tammy and Emmy did it over and over and got lots of candy.
They had a whole hour for the games which was really too long for only three rooms. After half an hour they were already bored. And there were rather few students there, less than I had ever seen, and it was all kids younger than hours, except for one. They'd had the talent show on Thursday night so maybe it was too much going on. Even Tammy's and Emmy's teacher (the director) wasn't there today.
At noon everyone started gathering in the main room where the grand piano is, and one of the teachers took the microphone. I had told them that Tammy and Emmy had to leave earlier so they were going to perform first. Tammy thought she was gonna go first but Emmy was called up first. He went to the front and said his name then he couldn't remember the name of the piano piece so I shouted it out for him. He then sat down to play. Even though he knows the song well and has no problem playing it, he soon got into trouble and couldn't pull himself out of it. He then put his hands down and took a breath, and started over again. This time he played it without having issues. I was proud of how he had handled the situation. He bowed and returned to his seat.
Tammy came next. She actually took the microphone into her own hands, said her name and the name of the piano piece, then sat down and played it quite a bit faster than her brother. She always has to be told to slow down. She bowed and also returned to her seat.
Then came the surprise. Sammy's teacher called Sammy to the front. She had asked him before that whether he would also like to play, and Sammy was all excited about it. He cheered when Daddy took him up front to the piano. His teacher was right there next to him and asked him to find Do on the piano. He then played Do, and so did she. They played Do a few times, and Sammy was all excited. He looked away from the piano at the people with a big grin for most of the time. It didn't take long until he was done, and Daddy picked him up and carried him back to his seat.
Only two more kids performed everyone but Randy left with Tammy and Emmy before they were done. They had their maths club at 1 pm that Randy was taking them to. On the way out they got to pick up a few chocolate eggs off the floor as they were going to miss the Easter egg hunt. Sammy and I listened to the kids play their songs, then the teacher taught everyone an Easter song. After she was done, a chicken suddenly walked into the room. It was the administrator in a costume. Together with the chicken we did the song again, and he danced along. Then the Easter bunny arrived. Sammy had been waiting for it and was very excited. It was one of the female teachers, and her face wasn't even covered. She took the microphone and told everyone that the Easter egg hunt was on. The kids immediately started running out the door, and Sammy and I followed.
Those little kids were fast but Sammy found a few eggs, and some parents told their kids to leave certain eggs on the ground for Sammy. The administrator also dropped more eggs right near Sammy for him to find. Sammy was all excited and picked up all the eggs and put them into his bag. Most kids were already done and gone by the time Sammy was gone. We then went to the buffet as well and had a few snacks there. Then Sammy said good-bye to his teacher, especially since there are no classes for three weeks because of the Easter break. He's going to miss her. Then we left.
We walked to the subway and rode it home. By 1 pm we were already back home. I was extremely tired and just wanted to get a nap. Sammy wanted his tablet. I stayed up until Randy arrived before 1:30 pm, then made a quick lunch for all of us. I had made sandwiches for Tammy and Emmy that they had taken with them to eat. After we had eaten, I lay down with my phone. Randy left at 2 pm to pick up Tammy and Emmy. Sammy was on his tablet, and I finally got to take a nap.
I had slept for about an hour when Randy returned with the kids just before 3:30 pm. It took me a while to be able to force myself out of bed but my services were needed. Randy was finally taking his much-needed and deserved nap so it was my turn to help the kids. Tammy and Emmy were also on their tablets but I reminded them that they still had their schoolwork to finish, and they finished it all.
At 5 pm I started teaching since I had not been able to teach the past two days. At 6 pm I was done and went to the kitchen to make their dinner, then they ate. At 7 pm it was bathtub time; finally after several days of no bathtub. Then they got ready for bed. Tammy had done her reading practice on the subway but Emmy still had to do it. I wanted to read a story after that but Emmy had two friendship books to fill out so we did that instead. By the time we were done, it was time for bed. I prayed for them, and they went to bed, finally at a decent time again. I then went to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. After a break while eating, I went back to work, working on the pictures and later on my reports. Now it's 2 am, and I still have to load the dishwasher.
