HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
By now you know our routine pretty well, and it barely changes. Today was just another regular day. Until 2 pm. After a long two-week break over Easter, Sammy had his first physiotherapy session again, his second one with the private physiotherapist.
Sammy falls asleep first after lunch, and he also wakes up first. I didn't get to sleep after lunch today, just too much to do. When Sammy got up at 1:45, Randy took him downstairs. Emmy woke up a few minutes later, but I did not have time to lie down with him. I took him downstairs as well, and he was crying when I handed him to Randy. He wanted to be with Mommy. I took Sammy upstairs with me, dressed him, got myself ready, and we left the house at 2:15.
It's finally getting warmer again, which is nice, though the wind was a little cold. We took two subways and then had to walk a little, and got there at just the right time. At first Sammy was unsure, but I reassured him, and it didn't take long before he was happily playing and letting the physiotherapist do whatever she wanted. He really enjoys himself there, and time just flies by. It's not like that in the hospital at all. Today the therapist put him on all fours, to see how he was doing there. And because I told her how much he likes standing up, he was working with him on that and showing me what is important for us to do when he does. We both had a great time, and it feels pretty fruitful. Next time Randy is taking him for the first time, so he can find out what to do firsthand.
It was 4:15, when we got back home. As the other two hadn't been out, I decided to take them outside our apartment for the short time we had, before I had to go get their food ready. We first stayed by the apartment, with their little vehicles, but then we walked off into the neighborhood, doing a little circle around the wooden houses next to us. I thought we might see the cats again, but we didn't. Instead we saw bikes that fascinated them, and some statues people had, as well as pizza delivery menus someone had dropped on the ground by every door.
There were daisies and dandelions blooming everywhere. I pulled some off and tried to give it to them to check out. Emmy was afraid and wouldn't take them. I put one behind Tammy's ear, but she took it off right away. And when I asked her to take it to Daddy to show him, she threw it away.
We finished our circle back at the door to our apartment. Randy had stayed with Sammy while we were gone. And the rest of the night was the same way it always is. Except for Emmy doing what he did yesterday, just crying in the bathtub (at least not the whole time) and clinging to me. And he refused to eat anything. The girl made up for that, including drinking most of the cereal with milk leftovers from breakfast.
After they had gone to bed, there were playing with each other for a while, as usual, but without Sammy today. He must have been pretty tired. I had to come back several times, change Tammy's diaper, and put them back into the horizontal, before it finally got quiet for good.
