HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2259. After 8 weeks of school, the kids had their fall break this week. Emmy wanted to do a soccer camp, as usual, and this time he wanted to do a goalkeeper camp. It was at the same location he's done all his camps, and while those in the goalkeeper camp (4 kids) had a lot of lessons together, they often joined the other kids and were goalies for them. Emmy really enjoyed his week, of course, but he was pretty tired every night which meant there wasn't much school work he could do. We did get piano practice in every night. This weekend he's now catching up on school work. The kids had a bunch of papers to do to hand in on Monday. Tammy finished them on Tuesday, Emmy will be finishing them tomorrow. They also have an exam on Tuesday where their teacher is testing their reading and writing skills with the 8 letters they've learned so far. While Tammy has done a lot more practicing so far, it's also much harder for her to do than for her brother. I think Emmy will have a better result.
Let's look back at this past week:
Emmy's soccer camp started on Monday at 9 am, and he went until 4 pm every day, except on Friday when it ended at 3 pm. Every day several kids got fair play prizes, and Emmy got it on the very first day - a children's book.
Tammy and Sammy stayed home all week, and Tammy did lots of school work which kept me busier than usual. On Monday morning I had a student from 10 to 11 am, and then at 2:30 pm. After Randy had come with Emmy around 4:30 pm, I left the house to go see my doctor and discuss my blood test results. They handed them to me when I arrived, and I read through them while waiting to see the doctor. I could tell they weren't good though I didn't know what everything meant. I had to wait much longer than expected but then my turn had come. The doctor confirmed that she was worried about my numbers, especially one that she could not explain, and sent me to have some more tests done.
I got home rather late; the kids were done eating, and it was bathtub time. They went to bed at 8 pm while I had a student until 9 pm.
On Tuesday I had to make sure lunch was ready early, and that we were done eating in time for us to leave the house at 12:30 pm. Sammy had a 1 pm appointment at the therapy center. He hasn't gone there for weekly therapies for quite a while as he had horse therapy before the summer and hasn't had any since. The young lady doctor is very nice and was very sweet with Sammy. Tammy was drawing or looking at toys the whole time while we were there. Sammy was playing with toys for part of the time, and the doctor looked also at his legs and noticed how much Sammy talks now. She sent Sammy to have x-rays done, and sent us to a hospital to talk about muscle relaxers that Sammy needs bad for his legs not to get worse and worse. At 2 pm we were done and left so that I got home just in time for my 2:30 pm student. Randy got home with Emmy at 4:30 pm then he left with Tammy fifteen minutes later to take her to ballet. The boys were on their on while I taught from 5 to 6 pm, and they did great. I told Sammy how proud I was of him. At 7 pm Randy and Tammy came back home; there had been only one other girl at the ballet class beside Tammy as it's a holiday week. After food, piano practice and bathtub time, they went to bed at 8 pm while I sat down to teach for an hour.
On Wednesday I taught an hour in the morning, three in the afternoon and one at night. There was nothing else going on.
On Thursday I had to start teaching early, at 9 am already, and taught until 11:30 am, then again at 2:30 pm. Randy then left to pick up Emmy at 4 pm, while I left with Tammy and Sammy at 4 pm to go meet up with Randy and Emmy at the subway. Together we then rode the subway downtown and walked to the dentist's office where they had a check-up scheduled at 4:45 pm.
We registered and sat down in the waiting room. Then I was called away for an x-ray. After I was done, Tammy and Emmy were already at the door for theirs. It was their first time doing an x-ray. Emmy went first, but he was too small so they had to put a chair there for him to kneel on. Tammy was already tall enough to stand inside the machine and reach it. After they were done, we went into the doctor's office. We have a nice, young lady as our doctor, and she's great with the children. She looked at all three children's teeth. Only Tammy needed one filling done, and she did it right away. The doctor was constantly telling her what she was doing. Sammy was also doing great though I had to use my finger to help him keep his mouth open. Thankfully he needed nothing done. She also checked my teeth and said I needed three fillings done. Just great as it costs money, and right now money is tight thanks to the children all going to a private elementary school. There was not enough time to do any of my fillings, but she wanted to try do an x-ray of Sammy's teeth. Sammy then stood on a chair while I was holding him up and holding his head in place after Randy had helped put it into the right position from the front. His x-ray picture turned out better than Emmy's.
By 6:30 pm we were back home. It was time to eat, do piano practice, bathtub and story time. My Thursday night student had moved his lesson to Wednesday so that I did not have any 8 pm student.
On Friday I had students from 11 am to 1 pm, while Randy took Tammy and Sammy to the playground as the weather was beautiful and rather wram. Before I started teaching, I put two lasagnas into the oven so Randy and the kids could eat once they were done. They then left the house just before 12:30 pm to take the subway and the bus to the soccer field where Emmy's final soccer match was starting at 1 pm. As for me, I left right after I had finished teaching and got there about 1:30 pm. I took my scooter to be faster, and also took Tammy's scooter and helmet with me that she had forgotten to take.
When I arrived, Emmy had already played one game, and he had 3 more to play. He was the goalkeeper in all the games, and he did a great job. Still, his team won one game, lost two and there was a tie once. Emmy also got hurt one time when the ball hit his shin hard. Tammy was rooting for her brother and shouting his name, as was Sammy. Sammy, however, was rather bored but had his toy laptop with him to keep him occupied.
Once all the games were done, they put the table with the trophys, medals, certificates and gifts on the field and had all the teams line up, then the leader of the camp took the mic and started the award ceremony. First they handed out gifts to the winners of the soccer quiz, and there were quite a few of them, including Emmy. He got a little sports bag with the name of the soccer school on it. Then they handed out the four trophies. This time Emmy didn't get one. Then it was time for the results of the soccer match. There were three teams of younger kids, and Emmy's team was second of three. They all got silver medals and a certificate, then took a picture together, then all the kids of the camp took a picture with the trainers.
The camp was over but someone had brought a cake so the kids all had cake, then Emmy got changed and we left. We crossed the Danube on a wooden bridge and saw huge carps in the water. Someone was feeding them with bread and gave our kids some bread as well to give to them. A boy from Emmy's soccer camp was there too.
We continued walking to the bus stop, then took the bus and the subway home. We had some time for school work and piano practice and I got their food for dinner ready. At 6 pm I sat down to teach for an hour while they were eating. Then it was bathtub time and story time. My 8 pm student had canceled so we had plenty of time and they went to bed a few minutes after 8 pm.
This morning I could have slept in and wanted to after I had gone to bed after 2 am but the kids kept waking me up. And so I got up earlier than planned at 10 am. At 11 am I started cooking, and we sat down to eat before it was noon. After lunch, Emmy did some school work as he was not done with his school papers, and he did his maths club homework. Both kids did their reading sheet, and we also went downstairs for piano practice. They needed me all the time which made it hard for me to get my work on the computer done that I was trying to get done.
With 4 pm approaching, I made sandwiches for them to take with us, and just after 4 pm we left the house and walked to the subway. We took the 4:20 pm train and then the subway and got to church a few minutes before the service started at 5 pm. The kids were excited when they saw their friend arrive and sit down near us.
When the music started, Tammy and Sammy started dancing right away, and they were dancing with each other, having lots of fun. Emmy doesn't dance at church any more. After only 15 minutes the leader of kids' ministry came to get them, and they went to another room for their own program. I stayed in the sanctuary.
When the service was drawing to a close at 7 pm, I went to the kids' room where I found the kids coloring. They showed me what they had learned and done, then we said good-bye, put our coats on and left to go home. We crossed the mall to go to the subway, took it to the train station, and took the 7:30 pm train home.
Fifteen minutes later we were home. The kids still wanted me to read them a story, so they got ready for bed extra fast. After the story and praying for them, they went to bed while I got myself something to eat.
