HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 783. Last night I headed to bed some time after midnight. And it was a rough night - and day. Both Emmy and Tammy joined us in bed and were restless all night. His body was a little hotter again. It was a tough night for us all. At 7:30 we ended it and got up. After breakfast we dressed them and then left the house a few minutes late at 9:10 am.
We took two subways and then a bus, a one-hour trip in total, before we arrived at the petting zoo. We had been there once before, when it was warm, but today was a sunny day, though a little chilly, and I thought it would be our last chance to go there before winter. Last time there were dozens of rabbits outside, and as much as Tammy loves rabbits, I wanted to give her that experience again. The rabbits were the first animals we headed to. When we got there, there were no rabbits outside. I guess it was too cold for them, so that was really disappointing. There were a few rabbits near the openings, and that's all the interaction they got. We had some animal feed that we gave to them.
Next we saw the cows. There was one by the fence, and it was really tame, letting us pet it. Next were the sheep. There was a chicken on the path on the way there, and Tammy tried to touch it, but it ran away. Then we got to the sheep. Tammy was fearless as ever, trying to feed them and pet them. Emmy was fearful again, but at least I didn't have to hold him. He was happy just holding my hand and kept a safe distance to the animals most of the time.
After the sheep we got to the pigs, and then the goats. That's where Emmy fed them for the first time, with Daddy's help. We moved on and saw the turkeys, and then baby chickens. They were in a heated box, and the kids loved watching the little chicks. Next we saw geese, and then we got to a steep slide on the sloped mountain. Tammy went up first and had no problem sliding down. Emmy went up next. Neither one has any problem climbing up the ladder now. Randy also put Sammy on the slide a few times.
We had seen all the animals, and as we had a little animal feed left, we went to the rabbits one more time, but there weren't any more outside than before. Then we left and walked back to the bus stop. It was noon, and they were eating snacks we had brought along. When Tammy sat down on Sammy's feet, he was laughing.
We got on the bus and went down the mountain, then got on the subway, and then another subway. At 1 pm we were back home. Emmy had fallen asleep in the stroller, but was up by the time we were home. I warmed up some food, and we sat down at the table to eat. Both Tammy and Emmy ate some pasta but no fish. Tammy was clearly pretty tired. Emmy too; he wouldn't even eat a pudding, which is unusual. I dressed them both again - no water games - and put them to bed, and Sammy joined them only minutes later. I thought they'd all be asleep soon, but that was not the case. Tammy was having fun with Sammy, keeping Sammy up. Emmy wanted me to hold him, which I did. I tried to put him to bed a few times. Randy was making omelets for us, while I was trying to get them to sleep. It was pretty frustrating. Once the food was ready, it was Randy who sat down by their beds. At least Sammy had fallen asleep, but it was becoming clear that the other two were not gonna sleep. Randy finally went downstairs with them, and when Sammy woke up later, I took him downstairs to them.
I was back at work, not having had the morning, but I got so very tired that I finally closed my eyes and fell asleep. Even with that short nap, I'm as tired as ever tonight and have a headache caused by it. At 5:20 I went to the kitchen and started making their dinner, a little early, as I could hear a lot of turmoil from downstairs. I figured they were tired. At 5:50 I went downstairs to tidy up with them. No one was helping me. Instead Tammy took her diapers off, and I had to put them back on her. Emmy tried to take his body off. They were so tired and cranky that we went upstairs before we had completed the job.
Tammy was really tired, but she did eat her soup, and Emmy's, and ate cantaloupe, which they hadn't had for a while. For some reason nobody wanted to eat corn tonight. And so it wasn't long before they got up and went to the bathtub. Tonight they didn't even eat much in the bathtub, and we didn't stay in there as long as usual. By 7 pm they were all in bed. And I believe they set a record in terms of how fast they fell asleep. However, Emmy has been really restless again tonight, and so I have been with him quite a bit again tonight.
After eating I went back to work, and I hope to make it to bed sooner rather than later.
