HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 788. Last night I was lying in bed having the chills. I got up to do the dishes, shivering the whole time, and then went to bed just before 11 pm. During the night Randy tried to keep the kids in their beds. Thankfully when Tammy comes to us, you just pick her up and put her back to bed, and she continues sleeping. Emmy is a different story. He comes crying and does not want to go back to bed. When he came the first time, Randy put him back to bed and stayed there, so he could not get out. When he came at 3 am, I just let him come sleep on me. The girl also joined us at some point.
In the morning we got up at our usual 7:30 am. I still felt pretty miserable, but we had decided to take the other two kids also to the pediatrician's, as they had the same symptoms as Emmy and probably needed antibiotics as well. And so the five of us all went there together this time.
We left the house at 9 am, and it takes us 45 minutes, a subway and a tram, to get there. It was a busy place again. We received a number and sat down in the waiting room. None of our kids had a fever, and they were all cheerful and playing. They had fun with the other kids in the waiting room, and especially the two kids chairs were really popular among them all, sometimes leading to fights who could have it.
After having waited a while, we were called into the lab where they did a swab for Covid and for angina. Then we returned to the waiting room until we were called in to see the doctor. She listened to their lungs, looked into their ears and throats. Their lungs were clear. Samuel's angina test was negative, but she suspected that they hadn't swabbed far enough in the back, as Sammy doesn't make it easy, and so they redid it, and it was positive. So was Tammy's. And so they prescribed them antibiotics, cough sirup and nose drops as well. By 11:15 we left the doctor's office, went to the pharmacy to pick everything up, and headed home.
We got home at 12:10, just after meal time. Emmy had fallen asleep in the stroller, and I just let him sleep. Surprisingly he slept in there for a very long time, which we really needed to take care of everything else. I heated up some food for the other two, but once again they were not interested in eating anything. Tammy wanted a fruit/cereal drink instead, and she had two or three of them. I hadn't eaten anything at all yet, but had no appetite. Randy started making omelets for us, after having put Sammy to bed. Tamara was running around, going back and forth between the kitchen and bedroom, where I was. At 1:15 I put her to bed, and by 1:30 I had succeeded in getting her to sleep. That's also about when Emmy woke up, and now he was the one running around. Thankfully not to his sleeping siblings. I tried to give him some food, and he ate three spoonfulls, that was it. Randy went downstairs with his food as well as Emmy, but contrary to when he's not sick, he hardly ate anything of his Daddy's omelet.
I got my computer out to work, when I dropped it - not from very high. However, the corner where the power button is was bent, and the computer would not turn on. Now that was the last thing I needed! I looked up a computer repair shop online, and after I had eaten, I left to take it there. No rest for a sick Mommy.
It was two subways and quite a walk and over half an hour to get there. I felt really miserable but walked on. I had not brought any water and got thirsty really quickly. On the way home I bought some. The shop had had really good reviews online, and so I was cautiously hopeful. The power button was pushed in, so that the computer could not turn on. The two guys in the shop were really nice, especially the boss, and I could tell that they really wanted to help. However, they did everything to not get my hopes up. They said that aluminium cannot be bent or it breaks, and so they feared they'd break it by trying to bend it back. They also said that they had a very creative team member that had solved many issues before who would look at it tomorrow. They did show me that the computer was working fine once the power button was disconnected and it could turn on. So that's a positive. After half an hour I left there without a computer, and the promise to be contacted tomorrow.
I got home at 4:15 feeling absolutely terrible. I went straight to bed and fell asleep, having set my alarm. At 5:30 I got up to make dinner for the kids, and at 6 pm I called them upstairs to eat. Emmy is starting to eat again, but Tammy wouldn't, nor did Sammy. They went into the bathtub, where they ate a little more, but not much. Then they went to bed. I did not feel well at all. I sat down in the chair by their beds. Tammy wanted me to hold her, so did Emmy, and I held them both, but then one got up, then the other, then Randy tried to put them back to bed, they got up again.... I could not take any more and went to bed, while Randy took my place, and with him it didn't take long before they went to sleep. And so I was in bed by 7:30. I had clothes on and was under my thick comforter, but I was still freezing and could not get warm. I finally called Randy, when they were all asleep, who lay down with me for a short while to help me warm up. Then he left to get something to eat. I had not wanted any food all day, and still didn't. I stayed in bed, just doing stuff on my phone, but it made my eyes hurt. After a few hours I was suddenly hot instead of cold. I stayed in bed all evening, not up to doing any housework. I was just thankful that it was the first night in quite a while that Emmy never woke up crying for me. He slept peacefully all evening, until 2 or so in the morning.
By about 11 pm I did start getting hungry, but still not wanting to see any food. I ended up having a little bit of soup, which was good. I took some ibuprofen, and just after midnight, we went to bed for good.
