Day 768. Last night I went to bed at 1:10, and tonight I've really been feeling the short night. If only I could have slept, but Emmy did his thing again. He would not stay in bed, but stood next to our bed and put his head on my arm. And he stood there for a long time. I couldn't go to sleep as long as he was there, and frequently asked him to go to bed. In the end we put him to bed, and Randy sat down next to him. Later in the night it was Tammy who crawled into bed with us first, and then later Emmy. They were awake around 6:45 am, and at 7:15 we got up.

And even though we had over an hour until 8:30, time went by fast, and we left a few minutes late, but not too late to make our 8:50 train. We had 30 minutes on the train, going all the way to the end of the line. Emmy and Tammy were sitting on two seats with me. After we got off we went to the exit, where we met up with Sonja. Then we started up the hill to get to the swimming pool. After crossing the main street, the rest of the way was steep up a hill, which was quite the exercise with the strollers. I was glad, when we got to the top and bought our tickets. Even though we had to have a negative Corona test result, we still had to wear our masks, and the lady wasn't very nice about that and everything else. We had a 2.5 hour ticket and stayed 2 hours.

It was our first time at that pool that I found when searching for kid-friendly indoor pools. The only other one is too expensive. This one was a little far for us, but thanks to the train doable. And it was worth it. We changed them and started walking up to the pool area, stopping at the showers first. As soon as we got to the pool, their eyes lit up with excitement. We put their equipment on and went into the water. One area was cordoned off, and a baby swim class was going on there. Unfortunately our kids' class was canceled, and it doesn't look like they can offer us any options.

Emmy was laughing with excitement as soon as we went into the water. As time went on, his fear returned and he wanted to hold on to me or Sonja. Tammy had the swim rings on her arm, and was totally cool from the beginning, being on her own in the water as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Sammy loves the water and was very excited to go in. We had fun in the big pool, including going round and round around a pillar where jets were moving the water a little faster. They had a long, closed slide, and I went up there to go down with Tammy. I didn't think that Emmy was up for it. But when we got up there, Tammy got scared and didn't want to do it, and so we walked back down the stairs.

But then Randy went up and down the slide all by himself. We were in the water and watching him. Tammy was crying, when he was in the pipe. Then Randy went up there with Emmy, who actually enjoyed going down the slide. Next he went down with Sammy. Every time Tammy was concerned and crying. Still, Randy went up there and down the slide with her. We could hear her cry the whole way from the top to the bottom. Our fearless little girl did not like the slide! After Randy had taken Emmy a second time, I went down with Sammy, who enjoyed it from top to bottom. In the end Sonja also went down one time. It was considered a medium slide in terms of steepness and craziness.

Then we went into the baby pool. It was on two levels with a slide connecting them, and they started going up and down the slide, enjoying it. Especially when Randy gave them a push to make them go down faster. Sammy also enjoyed it. They played there for a while, and then we decided it was time to head home. We went to the showers, where a tired Emmy fell, and then to the changing room. It took us a while before we walked out the front door.

We walked down the hill to return to the train station, where Sonja said her good-byes. We got on the train and left a few minutes later. Once again Tammy and Emmy sat on a double seat with me, playing hard. But after a while I realized that Emmy had fallen asleep leaning against me. I myself had closed my eyes and was ready to sleep. After half an hour we arrived where we got off, and I put sleeping Emmy into the stroller, where he continued sleeping. At 12:45 we were back in our apartment. I put Emmy into his bed, where he continued sleeping, then I got their food ready. I had put a chicken into the oven in the morning, and warmed up one of the baby food jars we're still working on using up. While we were at the table, Emmy woke up and then joined us at the table to eat. However, for some reason Tammy and Emmy did not want to eat any chicken, just a little bit of the rice. Sammy however could not get enough chicken. The other two just wanted pudding. After they had eaten, I cleaned them up and dressed them, and we put all three to bed at the same time.

Sammy fell asleep quickly. Emmy was visibly tired, but everything we tried did not get him to go back to sleep. Tammy was active and needed a while to fall asleep - on Randy, and then I put her back into her bed. Randy then went downstairs with Emmy to play, while I went to work. I was very tired but never lay down to sleep.

Sammy slept a good while, and surprisingly Tammy did not wake up when he did. I took Sammy downstairs, with a snack for the brothers. As for Tammy, I woke her up at 4 pm, after two hours, as I did not want her to sleep any later in the day. I took her downstairs as well. And so Randy was playing with the three of them, while I was doing office work.

At 5 pm I stopped and started making their dinner, which took me half an hour. Then I went downstairs to tidy up with them. It was the first time that Tammy did not want to tidy up. Emmy has never wanted to do so and escaped again. But today Randy brought him back, and so he had to stay. I was doing most of the tidying up today. Tammy only helped a little. I could not get Emmy to do anything. In the end there were only a few items left to put on the shelf, and I sat down and told them we'd stay there until those items were on the shelf, with their food waiting for them upstairs. it wasn't long before Tammy put those items on the shelf, and we left to go eat.

They started eating, but as soon as they saw the fresh corn, they stopped and would only eat the corn. And then they already wanted to go into the water, and so they did. Sammy also joined them, and he ended up eating pretty much everything on his plate, contrary to his siblings. After a while they came out, we got them ready to bed and put them to bed. It was 7 pm.

Randy had to leave to pick up an item, while I sat down by their beds. Thankfully they were more tired than usual. The boys fell asleep rather fast, and the girl just needed me to stroke her head a little, and then she also fell asleep. By 7:30 they were all asleep, and I was able to go get myself some food. After eating I went back to work, but I had a headache and was very tired. Still, it all took me a while, and so I'm going to bed later than I had hoped.
