HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2349. On Wednesday morning I was able to lie back down for a little and got back up at 9:30 am to get ready for my 10 am student. I taught until 11 and then again until 12:30 pm. I made a quick meal for us to eat, then Randy left just before 1 pm to pick up Sammy and take him to his horse therapy at 2 pm. After it was over, they went to the eye doctor where Sammy had an appointment.
As for me, I left the house at 1 pm to pick up Tammy and Emmy from school. As I always get there early, I bought a few items at the grocery store, including drinks they had requested. At 1:50 they came out of their school, and we walked to the bus stops to take two buses home. We did reading practice on the way home.
Back home, we did piano practice then I started teaching at 3:30 pm. I was done an hour later but Randy and Sammy were still not done at the eye doctor's. That meant that I had to be the one to take Tamym and Emmy to their swim class today. As my 6:30 pm student had canceled, that was okay.
We took the 5:04 pm train as the previous train wasn't running, then the tram and walked to the swimming pool. Emmy had had one of his worst fits yet, even making me cry in public with his behavior. At the swimming pool they got changed and immediately joined their group as swim class was starting. I hadn't been the one to take them in a few weeks so I was disappointed to see that they still don't know how to swim the way this teacher teaches. And Emmy was not motivated and quit all the time, only doing very little. I wished we had stuck with the previous teacher and hope there is a way to get back to her after this.
They got changed again, and we left to walk back to the tram stop. Now that half the trains are not running, we had a long time until the 6:51 pm train, as the 6:31 pm won't run for another few weeks. Since we had half an hour, we decided to go to the nearby McDonald's. I got them a Happy Meal each, then we returned to the train station where they were eating while we were waiting for our train.
Just after 7 pm we were back home. I immediately went to the kitchen to cut up their fruit and gave it to them to eat. Then I sat down to prepare for my 8 pm student. Then Sammy went into the bathtub. After that it was story and prayer time, then I sat down to teach while they were getting ready to go to bed.
On Thursday Sammy did not go to school as he had an appointment to get his new corsett adjusted. And so Randy took him across town to his 10 am appointment. As for me, there was no sleeping that morning as I started teaching at 9 am. I taught until 10 am, then again at 10:45 am until noon. Randy and Sammy returned around the same time, and we all ate.
At 1 pm Randy left to go pick up Tammy and Emmy. At 2:20 pm I started teaching, ten minutes before Randy returned with the other kids. My next student was at 3:30 pm, and then another one at 4:30 pm. Randy left with Sammy before that to take him to his wheelchair class. He was very excited to show off his new wheelchair and had lots of fun there. His siblings usually go to their exercise class on Thursday but I had thought it was already over for the semester. I only found out later that their class had taken place so they had missed it.
After I was done teaching at 5:30, the three of us rode the subway for two stops to make a bread pickup. Back home, I made their dinner and gave it to them to eat. I was preparing for my 8 pm student while they were eating. Then we went downstairs for piano practice. Randy and Sammy returned around 7 pm. After a while, they went into the bathtub, then it was story and prayer time. At 8 pm I sat down to teach, while they went to bed.
Today was a big day - they received their first report cards! However, none of them had actual grades on it. And it was a normal school day for all three, just that they got those papers. And they celebrated a birthday at Sammy's school so that they had cake with fruit - and they sent me pictures which I always appreciate. You can tell how much fun Sammy has there. His report card is also very detailed describing his abilities and progress. I took a picture of him with it when I picked him up.
I'd only had one hour of teaching in the morning as my second student had canceled but I was still very tired from getting up that early for several days in a row. And Sammy and I had a long afternoon together. I was very appreciative when he was able to occupy himself for longer than usual which allowed me to actually fall asleep for a little bit. I felt better after. The rest of the afternoon I was able to get much-needed work for Mali done. And then my 6 pm student also canceled which gave me even more time.
Randy had taken Tammy and Emmy to their tennis class after school and then to their breakdance class. It was Tammy's last one as she's not continuing with it. Just after 5:30 pm they were back home. I had already prepared their dinner for them to eat. After they were done eating, we went downstairs for piano practice. Then it was bathtub time, followed by story and prayer time. At 8 pm they went to bed, while I sat down to teach.
