6 years 8 days

Day 2199. What a long day this has been! I've already been struggling with keeping my eyes open, as early as 10 pm. Last night it was after 1 am before I fell asleep, and at 6:15 am the alarm went off. Randy got up to make breakfast, but Emmy who was in our bed was up as well. Soon the others were up as well, but they didn't really want to eat much. They were excited about their second day of school which was really the first day of actually doing something, even though it was still a shortened day, lasting only 4 hours instead of 6 for Tammy and Emmy.

They wanted me to make them some sandwiches to take with them for breaktime so I had to get up and go to the kitchen. I also had to do Tammy's hair, and I checked their clothes. Then I went back to bed. At 7:15 am Randy left the house with them to take them to school. Sammy was ready to go too but he only had to be at his school by 8:30 am, and it's only 2 subway stops to go there, so I told him I was gonna stay in bed a little longer which was fine for him.

Eventually I got up, and he was excited that I was taking him. We left the house earlier than planned anyway, just after 8 am. We took the subway for two stops, then walked to his school. We walked straight to his classroom where he was greeted enthusiastically. Then I said good-bye to him and left.

Instead of going home, I took the subway in the opposite direction but only for one stop. I then walked into the mall and had to pretty much go to the other end and one level up, and then I already saw the entrance to the gym I was heading to. Now that they are in school and that I HAVE to get up early every morning, and since I need to lose weight, this was the perfect time to go back to the gym. For the first time since they were born six years ago. I had already signed up online, but the lady there still had to give me my card and then gave me a tour so I knew where everything was. Then I was on my own and headed straight to the treadmill, followed by the weight machines. I really enjoyed my hour that I was working out and tried to not go too hard on my first day back.

After I was done, I headed back to the subway and home where I arrived at 10 am. Randy was already back. I then decided to get started cooking which took a while, then I turned the computer on to work. While I had stuff to do on the computer, I started covering the kids 24 books (12 each) with protective foil as the teacher had asked for that. It was a lot of work and took a long time, and I only got 10 books done today.

At 11 am Randy left to pick up Tammy and Emmy who finished school at 11:45 today. They returned just after 12:30 pm. I was curious to find out everything about their second day. It helps having two kids, as they were sharing different parts of the day each. They had gone to the playground today and done some calculating. As they hadn't had any lunch there today, they also sat down at the table to eat, together with Daddy. After lunch, I asked them to do piano practice as I wanted to get it over with and do it before they got too tired. Tammy was having a fit again and could not finish piano practice, not even when we tried again later. Emmy, however, had no issues today and simply played it again when I asked him to.

Just after 1 pm Randy left to go pick up Sammy, but they returned after 2 pm because they had gone back to the paperware store as the foil I had bought was not enough for all 24 books. Sammy was all excited, when he got home, and shared that he had had a great day at school.

I continued covering school books while the kids were playing. Half an hour before I had to leave, I went to the kitchen to make their dinner sandwiches for them to take with them. Just after 4 pm I left the house. They also left the house, all three with Randy, but only at 4:45 pm as Tammy had her ballet class at 5:30 pm. Emmy said he was gonna dance as well, and he did very well as he's gifted for anything that sports. It was a one-time thing, though. Randy and Sammy stayed in the locker room until the class was over.

It was raining when I left the house. I walked to the bus stop and then took two buses to get to Tammy's and Emmy's school. I got there just after 4:30 pm, so nearly half an hour early, and was the first parent there. Because of the rain, I went inside and sat down on the staircase. By 4:45 pm a good number of parents had already arived, and a few minutes later we were told to go to a classroom upstairs (not the kids') where they had put chairs in a circle for us. Every chair had the name of a child so that we just had to find our child. Tammy and Emmy were next to each other. I took one chair and made another parent happy where both parents had come.

At 5 pm the meeting started. There are 22 children in the class in total. The teacher and director gave us every information you could possibly need, and we were free to ask questions at any time. The meeting lasted for 90 minutes and was very informative.

After it was over, I looked at my phone to see what the best way to go home was. There are about 10 ways to go, but no good way. I chose the option of a 15-minute walk followed by only one bus. It was a long walk, then some time to wait. Just before I reached the final stop, I called Randy. It was 7 pm, and I figured they were back home but that was not the case. They were also about to arrive, so they waited for me on the subway platform where I joined them. When Tammy saw me in the distance, she came running to me. We then all walked home together.

It was already about 7:15 pm so I cut up fruit for them right away. After they had eaten, they went into the bathtub, one after another, then we got them ready for bed. It was already 8:15 pm so no story tonight. Getting up so early now, it's even more important they get to bed on time. After I had prayed for them and they had gone to bed, I went to the kitchen to make myself my salad. Then I sat down to eat. I then decided not to do any more book coverings today. I finished editing yesterday's pictures, then continued with today's. Now it's 12:15 am and time to go to bed.
