Day 2020. On WednesdayTammy and Emmy had to be in kindergarten an hour ealier than usual, which meant having to leave the house at 7:30 am. They were going to the library for a puppet show. It also meant that Randy was not able to take Sammy and get him to his kindergarten in time. I had no choice but to take him myself which I did. Then I returned home and still lay down for a little bit. At 9:30 my alarm went off, and I got up to get ready for my 10 am student.

I then taught until 12:30 pm. 15 minutes later Randy came home with Sammy and left again to go pick up the other two kids.

Sammy and I had a good time at home together. I tried to lie down a bit as I was really tired. Once Randy came home with the other kids around 2:15 pm, I took them downstairs to do piano practice with them. A bit later Randy came back upstairs with the kids and left with Tammy and Emmy around 3:10 pm to catch the 3:20 pm train. Tammy was once again having a fit, saying she wanted me to go, not Daddy, and it was hard to get her to go, but in the end she did, and they made the train.

Sammy and I had again time together by ourselves and had a good time. I was doing work on the computer, when I wasn't helping him. Just before 5:30 pm, Randy and the kids returned home, and at 5:30 I started teaching. After I was done, I made dinner for the kids, then they went into the bathtub, then it was story-time. They went to bed, and at 8:10 pm I started teaching and finished at 9 pm.

Yesterday Randy left as usual with Tammy and Sammy, but Emmy stayed home with me. I got to rest a little longer, then I got up as well, and at 9 am Emmy and I left the house and rode the subway downtown. Then we walked the rest of the way to the dentist.

We've been to that dentist once before. Last time, the young female dentist took care of all three fillings Tammy needed. This time it was our turn. We sat down in the waiting room, and I was right away called to the x-ray room. Emmy came with me. Then we sat back down in the waiting room. Soon we were called again and went into the room, where the dentist had her chair and equipment. Emmy was a little nervous.

She asked him to sit on the chair and explained everything to him. She touched his hand with the different drills so he'd know what it was like. Then she did a filling on the top in the back which meant he had to keep his mouth wide open. It took a while. She then said to me that she thought she should do the other filling next time as it would be too much for him today. Emmy got to pick a gift from a gift basket and was also given a sugar-free lollipop. Then he sat down on the chair in the corner, where I had sat, as it was my turn. And I took a long time; I was wishing I had given him his tablet.

I had a deep filling on the top, the last tooth there, and it took a while. She removed the mercury filling and some sharp, acidic stuff started giving me trouble in my  throat. It got worse. I tried to tell the doctor I needed to spit out and rinse out. She said it'd be better for me to cough, and I started coughing bad. Then she let me spit and rinse out. Emmy told me later that he'd been scared. She then continued working on the filling, and it got better and better. I had never experienced this before, and it was not fun at all. I just wanted her to get done and was glad, when she was. I definitely did not want her to do any other fillings.

We returned to the waiting room. It was 10:45, but I still had a 11 am appointment for the tooth implant. I was exhausted. We waited a while, then I was called in again. This time we went to another room to see another doctor, an old one. He's their expert on implants. He said hello to Emmy and organized a chair for him as well. He showed me my x-ray and explained to me that it would be better to get a bridge over the two teeth next to where the hole, as they have deep fillings and it would protect those, and have the tooth replacing the missing on on the end of the bridge. Then he gave me the paper with how much it would cost: over 3000€! I couldn't believe my eyes! How in the world was I going to pay that much money? We're still trying to pay off our January vacation.

I was somewhat in shock, but we were done for today. We went to the reception to make new appointments and to pay for the fillings we had received. Then we finally got to leave.

The sun and warm weather were greeting us outside. The long, cold winter is finally over, and for the first time it's getting warm again. We walked back to the subway and rode it back home. I was extremely tired and just wanted to lie down, which I did once we got home just after noon. Randy then left to go get Sammy and came home with him at 12:40, then left to go pick up Tammy. I was glad that Emmy was there to play with Sammy, as I was actually able to sleep a little.

Randy and Tammy came home at around 2:15 pm. I said hello and sat down to get ready for my students. I then taught for four hours, from 2:30 to 6:30 pm. It was pretty exhausting. Randy left with Sammy just before 4:30 pm to take him to the wheelchair kids class, and they returned home just after 7 pm. They were all eating at that point, then I went downstairs with Tammy and Emmy to do piano practice with them. Then they went into the bathtub, which started our evening routine. I was glad that I did not have an evening student.

This morning Randy left with all three to take them to kindergarten, while I lay back down to sleep. At 9:30 am my alarm went off, and I got up to get ready for my 10 am student. I then taught until 11 am, but my 11 am student had canceled, so I was done for the morning. That allowed me to go to the kitchen and start cooking lunch. Once the stew was simmering on the stove, I returned to my computer to keep working.

Randy left just before 12:30 to go get Tammy and Emmy and take them to their tennis class from 2 to 3 pm. I left home after 12:30 pm to go get Sammy from kindergarten. Just after 1 pm we were back home. I told Sammy that I was very tired and needed to lie down for a while, but Sammy needs me all the time, so there was not much sleeping. I did get to close my eyes a little. Sammy got hungry and wanted bread with salami, so I made it for him, and made three more sandwiches for dinner to take with us.

At 3 pm Sammy and I left the house. Today it was so warm outside that I wore a summer jacket, and I had my sunglasses. We took the subway to the train station and then got on a train right there that was taking us to Handelskai. Randy and the kids were taking the 3:24 pm train from the tennis place and getting off at Handelskai to meet with us. Sammy and I were sitting on the platform and waiting for them. They arrived right on time. I handed Sammy over to Randy, while Tammy switched to being with. Randy and the boys then got on the next train that arrived, rode it to the subway and then rode the subway to the end. There they had to walk a little to get to the school, where Emmy's soccer class was taking place. It started at 4:30 pm, so time-wise it worked out perfectly. Emmy was very happy to FINALLY get to play soccer again after a two-month break.

Tammy and I walked to the bus stop and rode the bus to the dance school, where her ballet class started at 4 pm. We arrived a few minutes early with just enough time for her to get changed. As parents are not allowed inside the room, and as it was warm, I walked out onto the terrace and sat down on the couch right outside their window. That way I got to watch her dance and even to take some pictures.

Just before 5 pm the class was over. Tammy got changed again, and we left the dance school. Because of construction work the bus stop is right outside the dance school now, which is practical. Her friend from class waited with us, and the girls then sat together on the bus until the other girl got off. We rode the bus to the end, then got on the subway. But we passed our stop and got off at the stop after our house for a bread pick-up, then returned home.

I had hardly eaten all day, so I was very hungry and glad to get a bite to eat. Tammy had some of the stew I had made - she was the first person to eat any of it - and I also cut up fruit for her and the other kids. I tried to hurry to get done before teaching. The boys got home at 6 pm, and I started teaching at 6:05, which allowed me to get all the fruit cutting done. When I was done teaching, the kids were already in the bathtub. After they had come out and put their pj's on, I still went downstairs with them to do piano practice. Then I prayed for Sammy and put him to bed, and sat down with Tammy and Emmy to read some stories. I prayed for them, and they brushed their teeth and went to bed. I then sat down at my computer to teach until 9 pm.

Once I was done, I got some food, then I went back to work. Now it's 1 am, and I still have to take care of the kitchen.
