Day 2346. Yesterday morning they came to fix our heating that hasn't worked for several years. And again, they couldn't fix it. They said the problem was outside our apartment, with the hot air not making it to us.

My third alarm went off at 10:15 am. Randy had been the one to deal with the repair guys. I started teaching at 10:45 and finished at noon. We had leftovers to eat. Randy left at 1 pm to pick up Tammy and Emmy, while I left just before 1:30 pm to pick up Sammy. Once back home, I was getting ready to teach at 2:30 pm which is also when Randy and the kids got home. I finished at 3:20, then made sandwiches for the kids. At 3:45 pm I left the house with Tammy and Emmy.

We rode two subways doing reading practice, then walked the rest of the way to the premises of their programming club. I left them there, and Emmy waved through me through the glass windows. I walked to the nearby McDonald's where I got my computer out to work as my student had canceled. I then left there earlier than usual as we were supposed to be at their class half an hour before the end. Their door was open, and I walked straight in and sat down by Emmy's project. He showed me what they had built - a lie detector with a speaker. It was cool though not very reliable. After a few minutes they started taking it apart and putting the pieces into the box. I expected a little talk from the teacher like we'd had at the end of the semester but nothing was happening. No speech what they had done and what was ahead, nor a certificate for this winter semester now that it was over. Instead we left much earlier than usual.

We walked back to the subway, together with their friend and her Mom, and rode two subways home again. Back home I cut up fruit for them to eat, then sat down to prepare for my 8 pm student. Then we went downstairs for piano practice. Back upstairs it was bathtub time. After that, we read a quick story, and I prayed for them. What I haven't told you about is all the drama of the last few days, mainly with Emmanuel having fits of rage over things.

At 8 pm I sat down to teach, while they went to bed. I was done at 9 pm and then got something to eat before going back to work.

This morning I had no students which meant a morning off and a chance to sleep as long as I wanted to - after having taken care of the kids and seen them off to school. It was 11:30 am when I woke up without an alarm. I went straight to the kitchen to make a quick lunch. We ate, and at 1 pm Randy left to pick up Tammy and Emmy while I left twenty minutes later to pick up Sammy.

I knew that the wheelchair company was supposed to deliver Sammy's new wheelchair today. We had started the whole process last June, and Sammy should have received it months ago. When I got to his school, I could see his new wheelchair among the many wheelchairs by the door. It had his name tag on it. I was very excited and rolled it to his classroom where I pick him up. They put him into his new wheelchair that Sammy was very excited about. Then we left together. I let Sammy steer it himself at times, to show me what he can do, now that his new wheelchair is a lot easier to steer. I also took a video once we got off the subway near our house and then inside our building on the way to our apartment door. He had fun and did well.

Once home Sammy wanted to play with the door while I needed to work. At 2:30 Randy and the other kids came home. There had been an incident with Emmy at school that he told me all about, and he insisted he was innocent and unfairly accused. It affected Emmy for the rest of the day, causing anger fits at times, as well as tears and him not wanting to go back to school tomorrow. We talked and prayed together, and I tried to calm him down and let him know Jesus was right there with him.

I went downstairs with Tammy and Emmy to do piano practice, knowing there'd be little time in the evening. Thankfully we got that done without any issues. Then I made Tammy's sandwich for her, and at 3:45 pm Randy left with her to take her to her two dance classes. She does dance sport (ballroom dancing without a partner) at 4:30 pm and ballet at 5:30 pm, and she had fun at both. The boys stayed home with me but I had to teach from 4 to 6 pm. I tried to get Emmy to play with his brother but at that time he was still having an anger fit and scaring his brother. Later he calmed down and played with his brother, and came to me to apologize for his behavior.

After I was teaching at 6 pm, I cut up fruit for them all. They had already eaten their sandwiches. Randy and Tammy came home at 7 pm, and she also sat down to eat. Then it was bathtub time. After the bathtub, they still had to do their reading practice as we had not been on public transportation together today to do it. After that, it was already late but Tammy was crying because she wanted a Bible story so bad so that I spent a few minutes reading a short story with them. Then I prayed for them, and they went to bed while I sat down to teach.

I was done at 9 pm and got myself something to eat, then I went back to work. Now it's after 1 am, and I still have to load the dishwasher.
