HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2624. On Friday I also taught from 10 am to noon, then I went to the kitchen to cook lunch. In the afternoon, I was supposed to teach from 3 to 4 and 6 to 7 pm but my first student canceled. Randy took the kids to the playground where they had fun. Tammy likes playing in the sand, and she played together with Sammy. In the evening, I had a student from 8 to 9 pm, and the kids slept in the bed right next to me. I took them to their beds once I was done teaching and sat down to eat my dinner.
Saturday
As it's been their fall holiday week, the only Saturday program was Emmy's soccer practice at 10:30 am. Randy took him there, while I enjoyed a morning off and slept long. Then I got up and warmed up leftovers for everyone to eat. At 1:30 pm I started teaching, and I had two students going until 4 pm. Then I got ready to leave the house which we did a few minutes later.
We rode the train, then got on the subway and walked to the church where the service started at 5 pm. We all stayed in the service for worship for half an hour. Sammy went to the front and kept going in circles and praising God, singing loudly. It was so beautiful to watch his great joy and love for Jesus. He then came to me, and I raised him to his feet and we danced like that for a while. At 5:30 pm it was time for them to go to the kids' program, and I stayed in the sanctuary by myself. I greatly enjoyed the sermon.
When the service had ended at 7:15, I went to the kids' program where the kids shared with me what they had learned. They did one more game, while Randy, Sammy and I went to the coffee shop to connect with people. We just greeted a few people. When the rest of the kids joined us, they were hungry so we bought a plate of food that they shared but we didn't get to talk to anyone. Then we left and only got home at 8:35 pm, later than usual.
We took the subway and then the train, as usual. The train was an old one where you have to carry Sammy up the three steep steps into and off the train. None of the kids like the steps. When we lifted him off the train, Randy lost his balance and fell once Sammy had reached the platform. The kids started screaming and crying really hard, even after Randy had told them he was fine. It took quite some time to get them to calm down, and Sammy cried nearly all the way to our apartment building. All three kids said they never wanted to get on an old train again but I prayed against the trauma of what had happened.
Once home, they went to bed quickly. They've been going to bed rather late and getting up later in the morning. It's gonna be hard to get up early again once school starts again on Tuesday.
Sunday
I enjoyed another day of sleeping in this morning. Having gone to bed at 3 am, I was glad that I could get up at 12:30 pm. I went straight to the kitchen to cook lunch for us all. After we had eaten, I sat down to get ready for my 2 pm student. I then taught until 4 pm, then we all left the house together.
We rode the subway downtown, then got on the tram and got off right by the theater. We walked to the entrance of the puppet theater. Sammy loves Kasperl and was very excited and looking forward to the performance. As we have a subscription for the whole school year, we get to go once a month, and we always sit on the same seats. Randy carried Sammy to the seats, then left the room to wait for us outside. Tammy was not excited to be there; she feels like she's already too old for Kasperl while Emmy was happy to be there, and both he and Sammy participated. There was a break in the middle but we stayed in our seats.
An hour after it had started, it was over. When Randy came to get Sammy, Sammy started telling him all about what he had just watched. It was too cute. You could tell he was excited.
We left, walked to the tram stop and got on the tram that took us to the subway and the McDonald's that was right there. Everyone was hungry. I had ordered on my phone on the way there, so it came to our table quite quickly. We had a great time eating together. After we were done, we rode the subway home.
It was just after 7 pm and time for piano practice. We went downstairs to practice, and they also did their reading practice. Yesterday we hadn't done either. Back upstairs, it was bathtub time, then we still read a story before they went to bed. It was 8:45 pm by then, so rather late. I then went to the kitchen to cut up vegetables for a salad and sat down to eat. Later I went back to work.
