HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2514. Last night it was after 2 am local time when I went to bed. This morning the alarm went off at 8:30 am, waking us all up. It had been really late for the kids to go to bed as well so it was hard to get up for them. We got dressed and went to the breakfast room where they had eggs for the first time, not just bagels and waffles. We had breakfast, then returned to the room and finished packing. Then Randy loaded the car up again, and at 10:15 am we were able to drive off to continue our 4-day journey to Dallas, Texas.
Sammy now uses Daddy's phone to watch stuff on YouTube as the hotspot is not working while the other two kids have games on their tablets that they can play offline. I tried to get a nap in the car again but today even a short one didn't work out as Sammy always pushes a wrong button, and then I have to fix it for him so he can return to his videos.
We wanted to go to Wendy's today, but it was 2:15 pm before we arrived at the one in Clovis, NM. At 1 pm the world cup semi-final had started, and I had spent a lot of time in the car trying to find a free way to watch it. I had been so busy with that that I then forgot the food we were coming to Wendy's for - chili and baked potato. I was quite annoyed with myself. The kids enjoyed the Minion toys and the great variety of drinks to choose from.
After just over an hour, we left at 3:35 pm to continue on our way. We had one more bathroom stop and arrived at our hotel after 6:30 pm. We had lost another hour, now two hours ahead of California, where we had started on Sunday morning. It was about time we got to a hotel a little earlier, but time went by way too fast. We unloaded the car and got everything into our room, then we left again to go to the nearby Walmart and buy some groceries. By 8:10 pm we were back at the hotel, and I was supposed to start teaching at 8:40 pm. The kids were loud and not listening, and Randy had to go back to the car to get something and took his keycard with him that had the wifi code on it so I could not get online and prepare for my lesson. I was so very tired, the kids loud and unruly, and I couldn't get ready. I was not in a good place and couldn't really take any more. After Randy had returned, I went online and asked my student to give me another 5 minutes to get ready. I was glad when Randy and the kids left the room with the food to go downstairs to eat what we had bought in the breakfast room. It was finally quiet, and I was able to start teaching.
By 9:35 pm I was done teaching, and once again time was short to go to the pool as it was closing at 10 pm. We quickly got changed and went downstairs to the indoor pool; I had still not even eaten. There was no hottub this time, and the water was rather cold but we quickly got used to it and had fun. Randy and Sammy arrived a few minutes later. Randy was watching us while I had Sammy in the water with me; Randy had forgotten to put the swim rings on him. We were having great fun anyway, and Tammy and Emmy kept jumping into the water from the edge.
At 10 pm we left and returned to our room. The kids then had icecream, while I ate our chicken and rice. Then it was high time for them to go to sleep. Once again they lay down in one of the two queen-sized beds but they were still quite animated, and it took them quite long to fall asleep.
I started working while I was eating, working on pictures and then writing my report. Now it's 2 am local time once again, and time to go to bed. I teach again in the morning.
