Day 2417. Yesterday it was back to school after a break that lasted more than a week. As you can imagine, it was really tough for the kids to get up that early again, but all three were excited to go back to school. Randy left with Tammy and Emmy just after 7 am, then came back and took Sammy to his school, while I went back to bed. My next alarm went off at 11 am, as I had a 11:30 student.

I taught until 12:30,  then I went to the kitchen to cook lunch for Randy and me. Randy then left just after 1 pm to pick up Tammy and Emmy, while I left at 1:30 pm to pick up Sammy. He'd enjoyed his first day back at school. By 2 pm we were back home. I had work to do, as always, while Sammy was on his tablet. Randy picked up Tammy and Emmy and took them to Emmy's soccer class that goes from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Unfortunately they don't let parents in to watch, so Randy and Tammy had to stay outside and wait. Sammy and I left the house just before 3:30 pm and rode the subway for three stops, then we waited for Randy and the kids to arrive. Once they did, I took Tammy's schoolbag, and Randy and Tammy left to take the bus to her dance school. She only had her first class, dance sport, as her ballet teacher was sick.

The boys and I took the subway home; it was already 4 pm by the time we arrived but thankfully I didn't have a student until 5 pm. That gave me time to make their sandwiches and work. Then I taught from 5 to 6 pm. When I finished, Randy and Tammy returned, and I went to the kitchen to cut up fruit for the kids. After they had eaten, we went downstairs for piano practice. At 7 pm they went into the bathtub, then it was story- and prayer time. As I didn't have a 8 pm student, we didn't have to watch the time. After having prayed for them, they went to bed while I went to the kitchen to get something to eat. After a break, I went back to work.

This morning getting up was already a little bit easier for the kids. I went back to bed after they had left and got up again at 10:30 as I had an 11 am student. I taught until 12, then warmed up leftovers to eat.  Randy left before 1 pm to pick up Sammy and take him to his horse therapy. I got to stay home until 2 pm and prepared for my evening student, then I left to pick up Tammy and Emmy.

I rode two buses, took a quick detour to the grocery store, and walked to their school. They came out of the building just moments later. As we were walking away, Tammy fell and scraped her forehead. She was hurting for hours. We took two buses and got home at 3:30 pm. Randy and Sammy were already back. We did piano and reading practice, then I had more work to do while they kids were playing. Emmy has not been behaving well these past few days, and today was again quite tough dealing with him.

Just before 5:30 pm I left the house with Tammy and Emmy. We took the subway and then the bus to head to a new place. I've been trying to find a better soccer school or club where Emmy gets proper training as he's really gifted. I found two that he was going to try out, and this was the second one (the first one had canceled their training). Tammy wanted to do it as well. After we got off the bus, we had to find our way to the place the training was taking place. Google maps took me to the wrong place so I called the trainer. We were not far away from where we had to go. The club he was trying out was using the premises of a big soccer club that's one of the oldest in Vienna. When we got there, there were lots of kids playing outside but we were heading to the inside field. There were already a lot of other boys, a lot of them looking older than Emmy. Tammy and Emmy then joined the kids on the field. There were two trainers who were the founders and coaches of this soccer club.

The training was supposed to last one hour but it was actually 75 minutes. The trainers split the 6 youngest kids off of the rest of the team, including our two kids. Then the one trainer trained them in one half of the field, while the other trainer trained the older ones in the other half of the field. He started with a warm-up, then split them into two groups and put up a course that they had to master. It was good soccer training, and the kids did really well, especially Emmy. For a whole hour they did technical training, and it was quite intense. Then it was time to play a game. Tammy and Emmy were in opposing teams. Tammy stayed in the goal for most of the time. Emmy played very well, scored a few goals, and his team won.

Once they were done playing, they got dressed again, and I talked to the trainer who gave me some more information. We'll see where we'll go from here. Then we left to walk back to the bus stop. Tammy was complaining how much her feet were hurting, and then Emmy was too. They were clearly tired. It was nearly 8 pm by the time we got home.

They were still hungry so I quickly made them a sandwich, while they were putting their pj's on. They ate, then I prayed for them, and they went to bed. Randy had already gotten Sammy ready for bed. As for me, I sat down at my computer to teach at 8:30 pm which is later than usual as I had known I was gonna get home late. I then taught until 9:30 pm, then went to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. After a break, I went back to work. Now it's after 1:30 am, and I still have to do the dishes.
