Day 2461. The first alarm went off at 6:15 am, and Randy got up to make breakfast. Half an hour later the second alarm went off, and I as well as the kids got up. I filled their snack boxes and did Tammy's hair, then I went back to bed. Just after 7 am Randy left with Tammy and Emmy to take them to school. Randy stayed home and on his tablet for the next hour until Randy returned to take him to school. Recently Sammy has been letting me sleep which I'm thankful for.

My alarm already went off at 9:30 am - way too early - and I got up to get ready for my 10 am student. I taught until 11 am, then prepared for my 11:30 am student and taught until 12:20 pm. Just before I finished, I was very surprised to see Randy standing next to me. He has to leave just after noon to pick up Tammy and Emmy who get out of school at 12:50 pm. He told me he had fallen asleep so he'd be about 15 minutes late to pick them up.

After I was done teaching, I left to pick up Sammy and took him home. It was only then that I got to send my student his homework and was able to warm up leftovers to eat. Around 1:45 pm Randy returned home with Tammy and Emmy. They had gone to a beekeper near their school this morning as they've been learning about bees in school. They had a good time and brought home a tiny jar of honey each.

Sammy wanted to ride his bike, and so did Emmy, but he had to do his piano practice first as I didn't have time later in the day. And so Randy took Sammy outside, while Emmy and I sat down at the piano. He now practices for about 25 minutes (instead of just over 5) because of the concert he plays end of June. And today he didn't want to practice at all, so it was a battle, but I told him he had to if he wanted to ride his bike. After he was done, I took him outside to where Randy was with Sammy, then returned to do piano practice with Tammy.

After I was done with her, I returned upstairs and made the kids' sandwiches. Then I returned to my computer and eventually lay down as I was so dead-tired I needed a nap bad. The boys were back and Sammy was watching on the big screen which was louder than I would have liked but I was so tired that I fell asleep anyway.

My alarm woke me just a few minutes before I had to start teaching at 5 pm. Randy and Emmy had already left the house at 3:40 pm, before I had lain down, for Emmy's breakdance class at 4:15 pm. I heard them return before I had even finished teaching just before 6 pm. After I was done, I went to the kitchen to cut up their fruit and gave it to them. Then I got changed, prayed for them like I do every night and left the house. Sammy had asked me all afternoon when I was leaving and said good-bye several times. But all three were okay with me being gone tonight.

Once a year our High School graduating class meets at a restaurant to hang out and catch up. It's the only time of year I get to go out and by myself. It had started at 6:30 pm, and this year I got there just after that time which was unusually early. It was only 20 minutes away plus now there is not that drama at home about me leaving like when they were little. I had to cancel my evening student though to be there.

It was great to see everyone again.  We ordered and talked and talked and talked. Just after 10 pm it was time to say good-bye. Half of us walked to the subway together, the other half walked to their cars. Then we split again as only one other person was taking the subway in the same direction as me.

It was after 10:30 pm by the time I was home. I knew I had to be quick to wrap the gifts for tomorrow before Randy wanted to go to bed which is usually at 11 pm. I got that done and turned my computer on to take care of today's pictures and write my report. Now it's 2 am, and I still have to load the dishwasher.
